  1. Go to Kaw Thaung immigration which is right at the bottom tip of Myanmar, clear customs at Ranong and its a short boat ride across the water way about 15- 20 mins. Previously you could go to the Island with the Casino which was a little further but that has been shut down for some time now.
  2. Any professional bank does due diligence prior to the loan being approved, if the bank skipped that step then bad luck I guess. Its not uncommon for assets to be over valued whether intentionally or due to market trends but Banks will only lend a percentage of the total value, you and I will never know the truth so no point in spectulating what really happened. If you haven't worked out what is going on in the world then thats unfortunate for you, I guess you will be telling me next how Covid was a naturally occurring virus and that Pfizer with the help of WHO/Gates & Fauci etc did a brilliant job creating a vaccine to save us all despite knowing full well that the vaccine had 9 pages of known side effects of which a number are fatal.
  3. Yes it is permissible but you realise they drive on the right side of the road in Laos. I am told it is a fairly straight forward procedure.
  4. It is not a cranking problem, it just doesnt fire despite cranking as it should.
  5. I have ordered a new fuel pump so will see if this fixes the problem.
  6. I have a Yamaha scooter, Grand Filano 125cc which cranks over as it should in the mornings but the engine does not fire. After quite a few attempts it finally starts and runs as it should. After sitting all day come evening the same problem, when the engine is warm it starts straight up so only when the engine is cold. It is fuel injected so I am thinking its either the fuel feed pump or the fuel injection system malfunctioning. The battery, starter etc is working fine, I replaced the air filter and spark plug a few months ago and its serviced regularly, once running it performs as it should. Anyone have this issue with a Yamaha scooter, Mio, Fino, Filano etc???
  7. It is just a classic case of no discipline, no properly enforced law and the usual Thai system allowing corrupt practices. The authorities should draw up a set of operators rules ( Taxis, Tuk tusk etc ) that are within the current legal regulations and enforce them through the lovely honest boys in blue! The authorities should also advise tourists to not use a taxi that doesnt want to use the meter and to report the Taxi number, install signs in the taxi stating this. Any taxi not using the meter has their licence suspended and the driver fined, ban from driving for a set period of time, 2nd offence double the penalty, 3rd offence, fined and disqualified. Tuk Tuks I am not up to speed with their regulations but there must be some operating guide lines!
  8. Sadly some people dont get it, the Iraq war & 9/11 disgrace, the more recent covid scam, if you think for a minute that the deep state dont exist get your head out from under a rock!!
  9. Yes its time to drain the swamps for the better of all humanity rather than just a select few!
  10. Yes because you are a westerner and thats the politeness we display, Asian's dont share our view here and dont even think its being rude despite being the obvious to us westerners.
  11. I gather she is referring to her fellow country menfolk!!
  12. Who do you think arranged and covered up the assassination of JFK and the reasons why are exactly why Trump would reshape US intelligence agencies. Who do you think was behind the invasion of Iraq knowing the lie that Iraq was producing weapons of mass destruction? What do you really believe happened in the 9/11 tragedy, 3,000 plus US citizens killed?? Lets hope Trump gets reelected so the world can be a better place!
  13. Yes true and I would imagine also the local beer makers lobby ( grease ) the authorities to keep the import taxes (not excise) in place so they will sell more locally produced beer. Hopefully one day the powers that be will see the bigger picture and understand with sensible imported taxes the tourism revenue will increase to benefit all.
  14. Very sad for those innocent ones living in the area but this is what happens when there is no discipline, law & order is a joke. How many times have there been fire bans yet the locals ignore them and just keep lighting fires to the detriment of the region! I remember when we had the BS Covid virus and there was a total fire ban in Changmai, the RTP got called away on some BS mission and the locals lit dozens of fires with no retribution despite the "tough talk" from the authorities!! Just another joke!
  15. Despite the fact that South Koreans are often rude & obnoxious given Thailands reputation which often precede's them I am not surprised, also many illegal Thai workers in Korea so they are doing what Thai's often do to foreigners, especially farangs. I would say what goes around comes around!
  16. Sadly foreign training wont change the mentality thats embedded in Thai's, they are there own worst enemy!
  17. I have no sympathy for the RTP, they are paid to uphold the law and in many cases they are the primary offenders of scams, trafficking, corruption & many of the other illegal happenings in Thailand. I believe all government employees can get cheap loans with little or no security and if you have ever loaned a Thai person money you will know first hand that they dont honour their debts!
  18. A Dem voting judge, what about the Biden's & the Clintons and how did Barrack Obama become so wealthy just to name a few!!!
  19. Maybe other airlines are trying to compete with Bangkok Airways on their Samui - BKK legs !!!!
  20. Typical Thai reporting, the abolition of the restriction currently set between 11am - 2pm, most of us know what they mean! The word "abolition" means to abolish so their report should have read to abolish the current 2 - 5pm restriction, not the 11am - 2pm!!! Naturally this will benefit business's that are legally selling alcohol, ie those with a current alcohol licence.
  21. The real point is why do all these taxi drivers carry weapons, knives, iron bars etc?? Because its Thailand and they get away with it most of the time!!
  22. Yes its shocking but this is how Thai society often works, he is an Abbott and the victim is most likely a young simple family girl. There is no extra financial incentive for the RTP to not only do their job and honour the oath they took to uphold the law but show some integrity and common decency, a common fundamental problem with many third world countries, especially in this region. The Abbott should already be serving a long prison sentence but the police will only act if pressured, very sadly this isn't uncommon! However now that Big Joke is on the case I am sure some action will be forth coming but I bet the police involved in failing to act will go unpunished!
