  1. I couldn't agree more but the Thai investors are also only interested in the $$$$ and have no thought for the disgrace that is being carried out by the illegally instated junta army, you cannot call them a government because they just are pure crooks & murderess's!!!
  2. If Thailand as Myanmars immediate neighbor had any ethics it would vito the illegally imposed BS Junta government in Myanmar who are crooks, thieves and murderer's! They are there to rape, pillage, suppress & murder the Burmese people & deny them of any sort o a normal life. Their crimes are endless and disgraceful yet several countries & their neighbours like Thailand, China & India, as well as Russia & Iran are supporting this atrocity purely for their own financial gain, another disgrace against humanity!!!
  3. Of course the deputy will vote against it, its his cash cow and what drives Thai people more than $$$$$ - nothing!!
  4. It really depends on what type of environment you are seeking for a holiday, I would say both destinations have their attractions despite being opposites!!
  5. Those that want to drink alcohol during this time including Buddhist's will stock up so all its really affecting is the businesses like bars & restaurants and the tourism trade which Thailand is trying to promote! Obviously all the mom & pop shops and those illegally selling will benefit given the corrupt mind set in Thailand so all this religious ban really does is promote the illegal sales of alcohol and all the law abiding business's loose out! "Just another hypocritical rule that makes no sense"
  6. The hypocrisy of the Thai authorities will never change.
  7. Probably another convenient Burmese scape goat!!
  8. Typical insensitive Thai reporting!!!
  9. No problem with me, I understand what you are saying about the cute asian girls but given the crime its a bit of a sensitive issue.
  10. That's a rather unsavoury statement Bob!!!
  11. I haven't seen the video but according to the article the foreigner was asian looking! "The foreign man, who spoke in an American accent but had the look of a Chinese man"
  12. "The foreign man, who spoke in an American accent but had the look of a Chinese man"
  13. Anutin has a substantial invested interest in the industry so his comments to be expected!
  14. Yes they will & when they are unservicable where will they be disposed?? Our children will look back on this EV era and shake their heads in disbelief.
  15. Well guess who controls the power supply in Laos, the same place where cheap EV's are coming from!
  16. This is what this forum should be about, helping others!!!
  17. When will Thailand drag itself into the 21st century??? They lift the alcohol sales ban at airports, why not at all major tourist destinations. Tourist are here to enjoy themselves and for many that includes having a few drinks which has nothing to do with religious holidays. Also the rediculous 2 - 5pm alcohol sales ban, it acheives nothing thats makes any sense!
  18. Yes absolutely correct but that is what the authorities here always do in Thailand, its pie in the sky stuff but it feeds their ego's!! I was only repeating what they published and they are claiming 48.95m international arrivals.
  19. Of these, 48.95 million were international travelers, and 32.09 million were domestic passengers. Total 81m arrivals!
  20. There are several different forms of taxes with varying changes but overall there should be a price reduction for imported alcohol. Some taxes on products like wine have been changed to 5% per bottle across the board where as previously under 1,000 baht a bottle it was zero and over 1,000 was 10%. 54% import duty has been dropped to zero, import duty based on alcohol/volume has been reduced from 1500 per litre to 1000 baht. I too haven't seen any price reductions which probably means the retailers are like many others making up for the difficult covid era!!! Prices should drop once importers have cleared their existing warehouse stock with the new rates applying from March 14th 2024. So your comments are correct Bob despite the comments from some on this forum!
  21. Yes you are quite right, most countries allow this but Thailand has a Xenaphobic and third world country mindset. It would hugely benefit Thailand to allow foreigners to own land plots with restrictions without having to spend millions like the current situation.
  22. Maybe you should do some research before making condescending statements towards others!
  23. Yes dead right, many of these unlawful migrants somehow get to vote under the Biden administration. You can't fix stupid!!!
