  1. No Im not mixing topics Im explaining whats really been going on. The OP Topic claimed its Americans and its not, its all foreigners and depending on the Bank they are throwing in their own twists.
  2. Its 1 form that listed name, address, account information and EITN number (SS). Now Thailand is trying to head down this same road
  3. Thats not a definitive statement. I clearly said i don't know if you gamed the system or not.
  4. English is my native language. Look up the word residency and check the meaning. Also look up what the purpose of a passport and what proof it provides and you will see it does not verify where you are a resident currently but what country you are a citizen off. It does guarantee you the right of abode meaning you are allowed to enter and exit the country and live in that country. Residency is where you are living not where you are a citizen Trying using your own advice about not taking a single sentence out of context. Consular jurisdiction is easiest explained like this. In the usa there are 3 or 4 consular jurisdictions. You must apply at the consular jurisdiction assigned for where your residence is located. So for me my home is in Washington DC and if I apply for a visa I must apply in the Washington DC embassy and can not LA or Chicago As for standing corrected, I admit if I'm wrong, you may want to try it.
  5. If not done properly you can lose benefits. You must pay tax on market value of financial investments at the time. You can continue to buy and own but lose all tax benefits afforded a citizen. You lose support of the Dual Tax Agreements with other countries. Banks don't get trouble from the US banking system but they just have to file and account for US investment to the IRS like several other countries. They opened the can of worms by deciding to tax all income with properly writing the controlling regs on how to do it. Also by participating in CRS for transparency they now have to do tge same as filing with the USA because they plan on sharing unilaterally financial information but haven't issued guidance on how that works. You statement about Banks not wanting to work with Americans is not completely accurate as the crackdown is for all nationalities due to the issues outlined above and the financial crackdown on mule accounts and grey market business and issuing accounts to all foreigners that are not on long term visa categories as the bank regs call for .
  6. When you renounce your citizenship you forfit your US benefits and for tax purposes and must pay taxes on market value of financial investments. it doesn't mean you can't buy property or own financial investments but by renouncing citizenship you can not benefit tax wise from that action.
  7. Yes you not only lose all benefits but if you have any financial investment holdings in the USA you must sell them and pay tax on the value.
  8. Not true exactly. I am an American and had to fill out the FATCA paperwork and it was readily accepted. This requirement has been in place for years. Im my opinion the real current issue at the countries is 2 fold. The crack down on mule accounts and accounts set up for foreigners that are not on proper permission to stay visa categories and the 2nd is the tax interpretation change that is started this year as it impacts all partnered countries that Thailand has aligned with but does not yet have any clarity of exactly what is required and what to do to put it in place. As part of that agreement the banks must trade all foreign account data with participating countries.
  9. I believe if you check you will see that 4 of the 6 participants that brought the suit originally and had trump barred from the ballot were republicans and not democrats.
  10. He also forgot the willful occupation by the Japanese in ww2
  11. you assume incorrectly. I have applied for at least 6 e-visas from the USA since E visa came on line, so I do know how the process works. Yes they may have changed some things but the process is basically the same and the E visa site still clearly states you can not apply for a E visa while in Thailand. Now whether or not you gamed the system of they let it slide thru I dont know and dont care Im just stating my experience and what the site info says. Have a good day
  12. for the final compensation negotiation and payout it doesnt take years. It's done in 1 day. I dont believe I suggested going to court and if it were I wouldnt as Thai courts are not known for large compensation settlements for situations like this anyway, regardless of what your nationality is. As I stated. The police often view these situation as a non issue if insurance agrees to pay and the offender admits to being "at fault". they see it as a equal fix for all and everyone is made whole and they dont do any more work. The confusion comes in the "confession". Often it's worded very loosely with no real admission of the facts. The insurance typically writes the statement and then the police copy it. As an example I had this happen to me and rather than saying the truth in the confession that a person riding behind me in the center of the lane on a scooter decided to pass me on the left (wrong side) as I was turning left. My blinker was on a good 50 meters ahead of the turn but they didnt want to slow down or pass on the open lane to the right so they passed on the left during my turn and slammed into the truck, and slide down the whole length back to front. But come time to file the report it turned into they didnt see that I was turning because they were beside me when the collision happened and insurance would cover the damages. No charges to anyone, no real blame indicated. I was told by the police officer if we could not negotiate all the compensation and coverage then I could request that charges be filed and go to court but I would be charged at fault because the scooter had the right of way since they were going straight and I was turning and she was beside me when the collision occurred.
  13. Regardless an agent would have had to come to the station and write a report for the police. The police then take that report and copy it for there file to be opened but no charges have to be assigned. When the offender was caught and made a confession he and his insurance would be at the police station and the same sequence would occur with the offender admitting fault for not seeing the victim and that the insurance would be covering the accident. Again a final negotiation meeting should be schedule at the police station for the compensation to be paid and both the victim and offender have to sign it and the insurance company is getting a copy for there files to show its closed. I just went thru this a month ago and thats the process unless Britman doesn't contact the police to close it and get his compensation. The insurance will not press closing it as they save money if the compensation isn't paid and no charges were filed.
  14. The report that got filed probably didn't admit to what was actually done. It was probably something along the lines that the offender admitted he didn't see the victim and ran into him and didnt realize there was an accident until sometime later and thats why he left the scene. Thats typical and what was done to me.
  15. If your insurance agent was there in the police station he got copies of everything or should have especially if the offenders insurance agreed to pay as they had to write up a report as well. Its common that these reports are made and no charges are filed after someone admits fault and an insurance company agrees to cover damages. Its considered that you were made whole again and no need to file charges or go to court. Press your insurance about it or their insurance with implication of requesting that charges be filed since the final compensation has not been given and no one has sign to close the incident. They don't want to go to court either as its more money out of their pocket.
  16. If you haven't received your pay for daily compensation that should be done at the police station with the offender and insurance agent, you and the police officer that took the notes and wrote the confession which you should have a copy of. You can call that officer to request the "negotiation" and payment date be arranged or your insurance as it must be signed off on at the police station. At the very least I would demand that the offender apologize to you in front of everyone there before agreeing to take the compensation. I know this is the process as it happened to me about a month ago.
  17. Not sure what your trying to say. I said the exact same thing. If your passport shows your Thai address and you have to provide copies of your stamps which show your in Thailand you cant use the e-visa system. If you can show your not in thaand thats different. Visa runs have nothing to do with evisa system
  18. I already said I've never seen any passport with an address on it and stand corrected. TheE-visa site apparently has now changed and allow applications while not in Passport country, so I stand corrected on that as well. But the OP can not apply on E-visa site if his passport does show he's living in Thailand. Thats clearly spelled out on the E-visa Site that you can not apply while in Thailand.
  19. read the whole regs again you left out half of what it says. A passport and in this case the Identity card is a validation of citizenship and gives you the right to "legal abode" meaning they are required to let you enter and live in that country. Legal residence is where you live currently.
  20. Havent you posted about issues with your GF before and throwing her kids out of the house. Then you were in love with here and then you wanted to father a child be another women to continue your blood line and gf was ok with it? Did I hallucinate those posts, they did say LSD would do that back in the 60's and 70's.
  21. The police may not have issued any ticket or charge since there is a written confession and insurance covered the damages but without all the documents its hard to tell. There are several advocacy groups on Facebook that you can post your situation on as they are monitored by various govt agencies and seem to generate action to prevent a bad image of the country. If you use one just be careful of your wording due to defamation laws.
  22. Never seen any passport with an address issued so this is news and I stand corrected. Its obviously a newer version of the passport. so in this instance the OP probably wont be able to use the e-visa system.
  23. The e-visa system requires you to apply in your home country. You arent "allowed" to apply on the e-visa system in your home country while living in a different country. Passports dont typically have an address issue on them other than a page you write your contact info yourself. The e-visa system request you provide evidence of your residence, meaning where you live. A phone bill, bank statement, utility bill, drivers license, etc that shows the address where you live. For some reason the UK site accepts a copy of your data page from your passport but that isn't actually what they are asking for and officially does not prove where you reside it just proves your a citizen of that country. They also require you to provide copies of all the passport stamps for the prior year.
  24. Stop smoking and learn to read, they were separate statements. No one you quoted was a doctor nor are you so you shouldnt be presenting yourself as someone with accurate knowledge because you have none
  25. Last time I checked msnbc, Biden and a number of news outlet talking heads said a variety of false statements. They aren't doctors and were paid to sensationalize anything they could, especially fox news and trump and his trumpettes. They got there doctor degrees from Google just like you. Did you try taking bleach, disinfectants internally or sticking an up light down your throat as trump suggested?
