  1. I liked your comment Richard and accept the insult. Do you think a person who does not want children should have them because coerced by a woman or because society says it is necessary? I choose my family and the heirs to accept the Monday inheritance based on a higher standard than un-controlled random breeding and romantic relationships. Sorry about that.
  2. Fortunate? What do you think the worst thing that can happen the Spanish Inquisition? Buy another ticket and go to the lounge or go to a hotel and regroup. I usually fly from Korea Japan or Singapore no hassle on one-way standby tickets. Not as strict as England or Middle East apparently.
  3. I didn't ask them to birth me. Both of their lives would have been better without being married. In my case I was not interested in breeding kids the same way I don't want to go "on a cruise". What is the purpose? It is expensive and burdensome What do you gain from it? Why not do something you have interest in that does not have a high chance of being a waste of time and resources?
  4. The airlines are responsible to fly you back again. For those who mark confused stop reading here. The airlines can suffer heavy fines when passengers are refused entry there is no way to avoid that as foreign carriers are at the mercy of local regulators and authorities to keep the route. It has always been the case the passenger is responsible to prepare all relevant documents/visas and is responsible for any costs if denied entry. If a another country says "send him back" that means now even if the airline has to bump a paying passenger that should have been on the return flight. Unfortunately if a passenger refuses to pay a necessary return flight cost on the spot all they can do is try to get it out of them later. Many would actually have a return ticket who are denied for another reason they would just use that.
  5. How do airline staff see a visa when they "flick" thru your passport when it is an eVisa?
  6. Seen even very keen fitness freaks extinguished overnight. Strokes and heart attacks. Make your final arrangements now. Have a will in Thailand if needed and overseas for those assets. Even if you follow every health trend and spend most of your free time exercising and cooking healthy food. You might not live forever.
  7. I have auto PEA auto-debit from Thai bank for years. Recently I think about 26 baht for a full month of zero use.
  8. No idea but I thought even the US interstate trade was illegal? From what I read few US banks will accept deposits from cannabis industry as it is Federally illegal. No pilot on a US registered aircraft can knowingly allow it to be carried and people in safety sensitive occupations subject to DOT testing cannot use it. § 91.19 Carriage of narcotic drugs, marihuana, and depressant or stimulant drugs or substances. (a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, no person may operate a civil aircraft within the United States with knowledge that narcotic drugs, marihuana, and depressant or stimulant drugs or substances as defined in Federal or State statutes are carried in the aircraft. (b) Paragraph (a) of this section does not apply to any carriage of narcotic drugs, marihuana, and depressant or stimulant drugs or substances authorized by or under any Federal or State statute or by any Federal or State agency. https://www.nata.aero/data/files/safety 1st documents/flitebag/flitebag q2 2014.pdf
  9. Gov Abbott's "unspeakable tragedy" is on the contrary a predictable scenario, occurrence near daily This is the kind of mythical freedom these people want. They have a stranglehold on the legislature and nothing will change there, ever. If going to school or shopping without fear of being slaughtered is more one's taste however best avoid the country as much as possible as I do.
  10. Airlines have deep pockets and are at the whim of country of destination authorities. Read the contract of carriage carefully though it has always been the case the passenger is responsible to prepare all relevant documents/visas and is responsible for any costs if denied entry The airline can use legal means to come after you later however, when Thailand or another country says "send him back" that means now even if the airline has to bump a paying passenger. Unfortunately if a deadbeat just crosses his arms and refuses to pay for repatriation flight they don't physically force you to pull your wallet out. Maybe they should call some toughs in or throw the clod in jail instead?
  11. Definitely certain locations and airlines more than others. A mate was in a jam in Phnom-P last year got a sudden call during a dinner in Chiang Mai. PG were demanding "onward ticket" and he was having problems with his credit card Logged on their mobile site and bought a tickey in his name while I kept on eating and friends discussed the odds of him being let in at all he has been on tourist visas so long.????
  12. Call them. They might be able to reset the online account, then you re register I did it by phone last year, but only to get the mobile app back up again
  13. The cost of living is a pittance compared to Western countries and most jobs students would be doing part time on campus and service industries are reserved Thai only. What did I do? Lets see deliver pizzas, work in restaurants, student assistant in ESL program, tutoring, and landscape maintenance. What is blatantly unfair is the nightmare Thais must endure to get a US visitor visa. Then to see Americans come here visa exempt behave badly sometimes, work illegally, even beg in the street to fund their travel. Many bring criminal records and bad habits
  14. Never asked by immigration to show onward ticket. Me flown to Thailand “dozens” of times on one way tickets. A few queries from airline agents , no real hassle. I have held long term visas for a number of years though. For example came in on Scoot one way last time. I could not check in at the kiosk I assumed they wanted to see it, turns out my birthday was off by one day on the listing They never asked to see my visa though.
  15. I have flown to Thailand “dozens” of times on one way tickets, can’t tell you. No hassle. For the past 7 or 8 years I have held a PE or OA visa however. At most JL or NH made me sign a paper that said I was responsible for any cost if denied entry. That happened once. Another time a Korean agent questioned if Thailand Elite was real at all. Just got a supervisor ove to straighten him out.
  16. For some reason with organs of the Thai government working at cross purposes I knew this was going to happen. Provide near indefinite covid extensions to stay partially so those here can keep spending, doing no harm at all. Then punish those who took up the opportunity for an extended stay in Thailand.
  17. What day did you arrive? Your flight is scheduled to block in at 23:50 and arrives at the gate on time but you do not pass thru immigration until 00:30AM The same flight is very very late and arrives at the gate four hours late at 03:50AM What day did you depart and is it overstay? Your flight is scheduled to depart at Sunday at 01:05AM. You check in as early as possible and pass thru immigration and security checks by 11PM on Saturday in order to enjoy time at the lounge or shopping What if Saturday is your last day "Permitted to Stay until" ?
  18. Good news for the types who want to smash somebody in bar sometimes? Remember one punch can kill. Are there consequences? A situation I am familiar with because friends were scuffling after drinks one hit his head on a curb. They put him in the car. Never woke up. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-38992393#
  19. When the security staff ask me "Do you have anything in your bag that can pinch cut or hurt me ? I say yes, be very careful. "I have you know, Gillete, it is required to (gesture) my face" I never ever say the word "razor". That is a problem
  20. Ao nang beach may be a location where a targeted cull is appropriate but it would not solve the problem. Territorial animals, other dogs would simply move in and multiply. The cultural problem of dumping un-spayed animals then others feeding them is incurable. Bottom line is all feral canines need to be rounded up, sterilized, then removed as much as possible from the environment and housed in shelters until they can be adopted or in the worst case humanely destroyed. It makes sense that unwanted vermin be repurposed as livestock food produce for nearby countries but it is not acceptable in the cultural context of Thailand and thus completely unacceptable and a non starter.
  21. Hope so. So now he has the facts before he is exposed to the nonsense from the barstool
  22. And Japanese and Korean gals do not find you disgusting.
