A high level ranked officer and a simple Lexus, a pimped up version of the Toyota. Why is that so special? Why is that TIT? That's actually a quite modest and low profile kind of car.
Get the bigger picture ... the hints towards those two, billion baht projects, are the first more tangible bits of news ... that's TIT.

Also I am wondering that even if an owner received a request from the committee, whether they are obliged by Thai law to pass on this information to us.
I forgot to mention the 'key word', or lack of it ... which I didn't see in your post. Juristic Person.
In a nutshell, Thai law, very difficult for moo bans/villages.
If your village is not registered under a juristic person with the land department ... get out of that committee. Don't do it.
I understand condo owners joining committees, if they have a registered juristic person and at least there is the Condo Act for some directions/Thai law.
But for a moo baan/village, non existing. Only trouble ... no Thai law or foot to stand on.

Don't do it. If you get a chance, get out ... don't ruin your life with 'voluntary' committee things in LOS, it can turn into your living nightmare.

Either you own a pet and take care of it in your place or not?

I know that, you know that, we all know that. However, whilst the military backed, wealthy Thai elite, are busy raping the country, whilst masquerading as a democracy, nothing can be done.
While other countries are building a middle class, Thailand is doing its best to ensure the majority of the wealth is held by a small percent of the population.
I don't know about Spain, as you replied to it ... but you sum it up

The owner wants the foreigner to come forward to accept responsibility for the damage.
They know he was drinking at a near by restaurant and drunk, they know he's a foreigner ... they know him.
Why they want him to come forward? Why does the police not just get him, in time before even this article could have been written, next day?
Sounds weird to me. Shouldn't be that difficult to catch an identified farang, with a damaged vehicle and hangover, next morning?

Now you are being silly. TAT have nothing to do with retirement visa rules. TAT are for tourists.
Please vent your wrath in the correct thread. (I am not saying that your point is wrong - it is just in the wrong place.)
Not really ... if you have a meeting looking for all possible causes for the issue ... then you have to put all angles on the table ... incl. visa rules.
The Baht would be another one, but that's also not TAT's issue ... but real downer for Europeans to travel to Thailand.
... only TAT discussions about multi generation, luxury, family ... obviously just led to another follow up meeting.

mmhhh ... I just recently went several times to BKK with the bus (from Pattaya) to get some papers organized.
Not one time did I have to show a passport/id to buy a bus ticket?
Is that a new thing?

Ron Jeremy ... yeah funny ... why does anyone even need to justify where they live?
Foremost, the majority of the guys on here came for the girls to Thailand, whether they want to openly agree to it or not.
I wonder how the expat community and this forum would look like if Thailand would be like Pakistan, but only with beaches & palm trees.
No need to cover this up ????
Everybody came here because they got a younger girl living with them.
In fact, all of the guys around me, through all age classes, they all got a younger Thai girl living with them.
Availability of woman ... if that would not be here in Thailand, I highly doubt most would be still here for so long and go through all the hurdles and moved on.

starbucks is only for the seating, wifi, and atmosphere, which is priced into the coffee. There are much better quality coffees all over the country for a fraction of the cost.
There you go, you got this right.
It's the same as a beer inland or at the door steps of 7/11, it's cheaper than a beer on the beach ... but you pay for the view/location and it's priced in.

Who wants to fly 8,000 miles to see bikinis?
I did before ????
It was a good party town Pattaya ... I think it still is, maybe. But now that I live here ... I only go very rarely & occasionally, and then mostly end up in Insomnia or Lucifer ... but the bar scene ... I hardly find it fun anymore to sit down there and answering the same old 3 questions, especially not with the material sitting behind the bars these days.
But who knows, the next guy who comes here for the first time, still finds it a lot of fun ... it definitely is still much different than the average Euro/US/UK night out ... if you have the dosh for a good holiday.

I never buy any Starbucks coffee, but I often see long lines of Thais waiting to be served. I guess that they must have some special promotions for Thais.
No, that's not it!
The reason you see a long queue of Thais is because you are in Thailand.
If you would be ie. in Dublin, you would see a queue of Irish and if you would be in Amsterdam, a queue of Dutch etc.
Not so difficult. That place is popular around the world ... why do you think they can open store after store around the world?

Illegals and overstayers, we don't need them here, they all give us a bad name and only make immigration rules tighter ... right Mazzo?
