I'm not convinced they discriminate between an expat and a tourist.

    We're all tourists to them.

Bang ... to me, you hit the head on the nail!

Doesn't matter whether 3 month, 6 month, 1 year or 10 years ... it's all the same 'tourist' pot.

The statement in the headline is a welcoming return from what we were used with ongoing strong negative language over the past few years.

The same as last week, now positive statements like ".... we need more professional english teachers to bring our skills up", as opposed to the past couple of years "....we don't need english teachers, we teach Thais to teach Thais."

Slowly, but steadily, the language is changing. I sense it all is about to peak and some penny's start to drop.

There is a lot of news to digest, but not all is to be read on here.

I see for more than a week daily Thai News about a corrupted politician with her 46 rai of land and chicken farm without chanote tile and people are questioning it etc.

The police, politicians and news are all over it ... I tried to read up on this forum news feed, didn't see details of it.

I see on Thai TV that people are leaving the parlament during discussions to make a statement against Mr. General ... didn't see it in my daily forum news.

What I read on the forum is once again another guy got caught on 5 day overstay (a constant for the past couple of month)

... but that however, I didn't see on Thai News on the Tellie.

So at this point, I don't really care about forum posts as from people like SmartyMarty, defending tourist numbers and Thailand.

There is a shift coming ... and Thai people are starting to raise their voice.

Any change of language, like the one in this headline, is a welcome positive direction ... it's something which has been missing for the past couple of years.

And I don't read this as only tourists ... tourists never have been limited much by immigration.

When I read headlines like this .. it's like BritMantoo says ... we are all tourists, whether expects or not ... and they start to recognize it.

Thais themselves are not that blind for long ... they also know when it's time for a change.

Virtual Private Network  - it is called virtual because it is created by software and is independent of the hardware that creates the actual physical network of machines and wires.  It is private because every chunk of communicated data is encrypted and can realistically only be un-encrypted by the authorized receiver.

Private Key - Public Key - IPsec - Encryption

I wanted to fish Mazzo a bit this morning for fun, but thanks for your answer ????

You're right... I should have said indicated my security concerns were with the equipment and infrastructure not the user errors.

    Exactly ????

These days the biggest security threat is from dodgy smartphone apps.

    Not really.

It still is the 'stupid user' reading and believing and clicking on everything.

Email & Websites ... go to an infected website, just passing through, you are already infected.

Installing any non-secure app on your phone ... same thing ... stupid user ????

Responding to fishing email attacks ... stupid user ...

    2020 ... same same

The weakest link ... People ... technology can never safe you ... the stupid user.

    People

People are always people ... the stupid user. No one can protect you against this.

I tried to explain it to you. I can not help you to understand it.

Go back in the thread and find the answers. After that if you feel the need get one, if not continue without. Simple, right?

Sorry, I have question, what is VPN?

Farangs like suntan because it means they can afford holidays.

Thais like white skin because it means they don't have to do physical work outdoors.

    Humans can be soooooooo predictable.

You got a point there ... a good one actually! Certainly from a Farang point of view, IMO.

As we're not Asian, I don't know what they think? The same?

Yes, I agree. Danny say woman do it (white skin) for the man, but you right, it woman against woman. Same with the nose.

i think south woman not really care, Issan woman care more. IMO

Most Thai man not care so much if white skin, because hiso etc. like Danny think. Or the nose.

Most Thai man care more about breasts than white skin.

Will choose slim, big breasts, dark skin more than fat, no breast, white skin.

Thai guy, if big breast, not look at the nose.

So in other words, just stay as you are ... would be good, yes? A good number of girls I met are like this. They don't care. And they are pretty and fun.

Why a lot of woman do all this crazy stuff to make them look better, I don't know, when in fact, they go backwards (nose jobs, fake tits etc.). The harder they try, the worse it gets.

Anyways, also a topic which should belong into the category: Everyone does what they want to do and feel good with.

Who are we going to judge?

We pick our partners anyways on different matters, when it clicks and there is chemistry around.

Who are you actually adressing this post to? Me or Redpill?

Well, I take the load with you on my shoulder for a moment.

Yenn, I don't think it has anything to do with the farangs.

It's more the girls among each other have this kind of white skin competition going on between them.

At least, that's what I gathered listening and looking around ... no offense really, it just gives the impression.

For most farangs, there is no need to do this.

Most farangs think the same. It took a lot of persuasion to convince my wife not to use Snail White. Luckily, she's too frightened of hospitals to contemplate having a plastic nose.

The worst that can happen is a nose job going wrong 555

I've seen pictures, I never would have guessed it's that person.

Anyway, yes, that is a big thing here in Thailand ... there is no much arguing against it. I wish it would not be. The girls are more pretty without it. Someone should tell them.

Thai men like girls with white skin, they think that they are of higher class.

I think I have met a lot of Thai girls who think more of themselves when they have whiter skin.

Just look at the commercials and products around, that gives an indication, too.

Overall, you are not far off with your post ... that's also something I gathered over the years.

Not to say everyone is like that. I've been with the greatest girls who didn't give a toss about any of this.

But overall, I would agree with you ... that South Korean pop star white, kind of plastic nose ... many adore it here, I think it looks very ugly.

A natural Thai girl is more beautiful ... without all that creepy 'I want to be white/fake nose' stuff, they get fed with in all the commercials

Thai like fake white cream/ caucasion like fake tan cream.

That's all interesting, because I'm not so much worried about skin getting darker, more about beautiful black hair getting grey ... I know, no one can stop time, but it's something not so attractive to see, even on myself ????

    Slow news day?

At first it looks like it, but then actually, no  ????

I know it all sounds like casual ... but it's 26 days until catch, it's not a slow day. It's a min. benchmark

People will refer to this in the coming weeks and compare when more and all the other ones come up, day after day.

    Min overstay, max overstay ????
