Overstay a Visa is a criminal act, also in your homecountry, so, whats your Poblem!?

It's amazing, you didn't read through the thread as of why people post their opinions?

Just threw in the 'same in your home country' post?

ujayujay ... when was the last time you saw in your home country, where ever that is, someone making the headline news for a 26 day overstay?

  2. I gotta say, I see all about snail white products and people scared of getting a sunburn around me ...

... but somehow, I lost the core of this discussion.

What was it about again and what are you guys/girls arguing about? ????

Depends from person to person imo. I overstayed for 3 years. Paid 20k and left. Then came back 3 days later on the 30 day entrance visa. Extended it for another 30 days and I got 7 more SETV after that. So I think every individual case is handled different.

But that surely happened a few years before the 'dot dot dot' came to powers. Just go to the airport and pay your way out. No one cared. Don't do this today! Well, do it, better than getting caught actually. But these times are over!

And that's the whole point of this discussion. Where it came from and why it is today as it is.

i.e. a few years back, Oil & Gas workers on a 28 day rotation, could come in back to back, endlessly, no problem. No one cared.

And slowly, bit by bit, it all got screwed down ... and it still is going on as of today.

Last year it was marriage extensions getting an immi visit, today it could be your retirement extension too.

Then its O-A today only, then this or that ... and on and on and more and more ... no one can say what it's going to be tomorrow.

    What's the trend?

And? We're talking about poor people from Issan. Many thousands work in industry around Chonbuti and Rayong. Far more than work in bars in Pattaya. Same conditions though, minimal wages, living in small fan rooms and their children being looked after by grandparents.

"Many thousands work in the industry ... far more than in working in bars ...!"

I would say, that's a very positive thing and should be the norm. Trying to get your life on track ...

What was the topic again? I think I forgot ????

    Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou!!!!!!!!

Yes, the people in Ranong have some kind of OCD to keep everything spotless.

It's not only me, my Thai girl said the same thing, It was kind of obvious and we still talk about it when the topic of Ranong comes up ???? Always good memories.

I tell people before I live Ranong, is clean

haha, actually, I have to agree with you on this one.

I went through Ranong 2-3 times before, taking the touristic route on the way down South.

It's a super clean city, the streets are spotless, every one takes good care of their front row ... if I have to rate one place in Thailand really clean, I would put my bet on Ranong.

Always had a great time there, too, although I only stayed 1 or 2 nights on the way through ...

Not sure what you're trying to convey. Clickbait is to trick people into clicking on something they otherwise wouldn't click by being misleading. This ain't it. It might be pointless and bad, but it ain't clickbait.

Begpackers is the common term used for people who don't have an actual travel budget, but instead rely on locals to fund their travels, whether through actual begging or selling stuff on the street.

Ok, we both don't need to argue against each other about it.

I think overall you get my drift, hopefully. And I get yours.

I'm just a bit more skeptical than you, that's it. I always have the bigger picture in back of my mind

    Beaches ?

Maybe me personally, but I think there are a lot of nice beaches after Rayong, direction Chantaburi

I followed the roads near the beach through the complete coast line after Rayong, and had a great time there.

Yeah, at one point in time, the beach get's quite blackish sandy, that's where it ends ????

But it's a good way down with nice beaches along the way.

There’s a great trip that me and my friends do regularly, after going past Rayong about 7-8 Klms turn right at a set of traffic lights next to a big Buddha and go to Mae Rumphueng beach just keep following the coast all the way down, takes you down through Ban Phe just keep following the coast all the way to Mae Pim beach I think some of the cleanest and unspoiled beaches in Thailand, you can stay there or move to Ban Laem son to follows the coast down to Kung Wiman and Chao Lao beach where you could also stay , from there travel along the coast to Laem Sing beach , up to the north side of KLUNG then onto Koh Chang . My advice take 2-3 days there is many places to see , the locals are very friendly , many many food outlets and bungalows ect on the way and most importantly do it on a weekday not a weekend because 95% of those beaches ect are THAI holiday places and are packed on the weekends . Enjoy your trip

Fully agree with you ... Mae Rumphueng is a very nice area to hang around. Quite laid back. I spend a lot of time there.

Great location, from there you easily get in short 3h to Koh Chang, a nice ride into greenery straight away, without the need to pass

any major city blocks. Or you are just in 20min off to Koh Samet ferry/pier in Ban Phe.

Beach is great, a long 11km stretch. Not always super clean as you say, there are times of the year/season, where it also get's some good

plastic thrown onto the shores, but overall, I agree ... clean enough to jump in.

On the (long) weekends, it's mostly Thai's, from BKK etc., who come in droves to the beach ... really nice atmosphere, I do like it.

What would immigration of your home country do ?  Just ignore people staying without a visa ?

No, they put all 26 days overstayers in the news, I see it all the time in the home country

What you think they do? They arrest them and send them back home, if they can. You never hear about it, unless it's something really dramatic.

A friend came back from Italy to Thailand 2 weeks ago. He said that in Cinque Terre are 50% of the tourists came from Asia and many of them from Thailand. Also you see many Thai Tourists in Australia and New Zealand.

Yes, with the stronger Baht and the shift of money to upper levels, it would be interesting to see a real good, up to date statistic of Thais who are more traveling abroad these days ... with a separation of mid, hi class etc.

That's all in Asia, and/or part of ASEAN ... try US, Europe, UK etc.

The Thai passport doesn't get you far or you need to have a lot of dosh / or local support from that country.

I know, because I have a ton of paper work in my binderies to be able move a Thai girl through a few countries ????

I think you got dinged AGAIN 400b, sounds like a several dozen meals right there down the drain. I suggest learning how to cook. So next time you can use that 400b to help out the orphans or help free the beaten baby elephant at the Isan Elephant Slavery Camp. Now that would be a better use of 400b. Giving it to the Thai government helps nobody except corrupt officials, who will probably use the money for sex tourism in Cambodia or their own country. Only farang pay those ridiculous ticket prices anyways.

I was just pulling your leg a bit, chill

Yes, and if Thais travel abroad they will be considered just like another brown people like the Central Americans. They might fall off their high pedestals.

I wouldn't say that, because the ones who can afford the plane tickets and get a visa have a lot of dosh and stay on their pedestals. (or are supported by foreigners in that country).

The average Thai doesn't/can't really travel far abroad on their own.
