Former PM Yingluck explains her actions during "Great Flood" of 2011
Scott Tracy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nobody cares, 10 years down the line. Just another failed politician trying to keep in the news and curry favour. why does anyone pay attention to these people... Blair in UK, Trump in US, the Shinatras in Thailand...? Some will say public interest. I would say...I have no interest in these people, so not public interest. -

Video: Thai netizens slam policeman AND helmet-less riders
Scott Tracy replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Perhaps it was determined that the helmetless riders were driving under the influence as well. Would that satisfy you? Or perhaps the plod should only enforce the laws that you want them to? It has been said the Red light cameras would be a good idea, but the number of bikes without rear plates would increase at least 100 fold...Cars and truck's plates would suddenly drop off along a road somewhere. What would you have the copper do? His job? Perhaps picking a better a better spot, yes. But trying to stop a speeding biker is near impossible at the best of time. -
I guess they will all be 'destroyed' in an approved manner. Like incinerating heroin and other drugs which are normally inhaled... I love irony.

Fake News! MoPH says mRNA vax is not radioactive!
Scott Tracy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good grief. What more absolute <deleted> will some people come up with against vaccination against the corona virus? I always thought I would continue to support the fact that people can have differing opinions, but this anti vax continued traducing of the currently available and approved vaccines is really testing my patience. Some of the stuff they spout is so plausib!e, that to uneducated and lesser educated people, and those of a more gullible nature believe it. I suppose it's about trust, or lack thereof, in the authorities. I read an article the other day, that some chiropractors in the US are peddling anti vax info and selling snakeoil, or it's current equivalent...Educated people, you would have thought. Educated enough to try to make fast buck out of a pandemic. I have also read articles that some health care professionals are anti vax. They have an axe to grind? I have no idea. I haven't seen any of them selling snakeoil...yet. I am rapidly approaching the opinion that these people should be forced to work on the front line, without PPE, as they seem not to be concerned about the virus. Made to watch people struggle to breathe, struggle to live. I wish I could articulate what was really on my mind, but I would be castigated and banned from here. But there is a poem by Shatterdprince, the title of which sums up my thoughts about anti vaxxers generally. -
Oil Price Hike and Baht Depreciation Worry Thai Government
Scott Tracy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's all very well capping prices at the pumps for a couple of weeks. It's what happens after the cap ends that's worrying. Rice harvesting in November. Lorries, harvesters, pick ups all run on diesel, which will be more expensive after the cap ends. More costs in a harvest that rarely makes money for the sustenance farmer. soon be back to hand harvesting. -
Oil Price Hike and Baht Depreciation Worry Thai Government

And the ad shown at the top of the page is for astrology. Another waste of time. Predictions to 2025...? I wonder, if I were to act upon this information, would I win or lose? I think I will test the predictions, as I have time to do it. I do like to try to debunk false news, false predictions, or any predictions for that matter... TAT tourist predictions, GDP predictions, currency exchange predictions, share price index predictions, good price predictions... I can't recall predictions for lorry driver shortages in Europe. For China banning beef sales from UK again. -
British diver relives gripping Thai cave rescue
Scott Tracy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And they dined out on this ripping adventure for many years. royalties from interviews, books, audio books, movies, tv series all welcome. Fees from speeches, PowerPoint presentations, slide shows..milk it baby, milk it. You'll never need to work another day. -
Sarcasm has no place in a serious discussion. No one is doing as they are told without being damn sure they know what 's going on. Everyone asks, everyone is doing research. Everyone who has had the vaccine knows the risks involved and the benefits and have made an informed decision. You, belittling them makes you no better than the idiots who claimed the MMR vaccine was ineffective and dangerous.

There is no requirement to show proof of vaccination for measels, mumps, polio, rubella or any other vaccinations I had as a child. There is also no requirement for proof of a flu vaccine, Hep A or B, pneumococal, HPV. Requiring proof of covid vaccination will be burdensome on all sides, and there will likely be limitations on the vaccination brand and country in which it was given. If only the world had one single standard and accepted all vaccinations approved, temporarily or not, but the World Health Organisation.

POLL: Should Thailand scrap the quota on foreign condo ownership?
Scott Tracy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I admit to voting undecided. I own nothing here. Nothing in My name, but live in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom so the floor house in the middle of nowhere in Isaan all owned by the wife. If it all goes tits up, nothing to pack, no fees, no selling...hotel first then back to where I was born, or perhaps northern Italy, Cyprus is nice too. Skiing in the Troodos mountains then sunbathing on the beach.... I would, however, be interested in people's reasoning behind their vote. A condo building full of non-native Thais, or 49/51 split... -
Why keep money here, not working for you, when the money can be kept elsewhere, working, and have a good rate of return. It's not just the 400,000 or 800,000 baht, it's money in addition to this too, for at least 5 months. If you use it, you still have to top it up. How you comply with the financial regulations is up to you. But calling people meanies, when they don't want to do the money in bank system, is not right, and you should apologise.

That's why you should always print off your Wise receipts and take them along too. You can match both outgoing funds to Wise and Wise to incoming funds to the Thai bank. Highlight them all. I ring mine with blue pen and sign them all. I have never needed them yet, but then I'm an ex Boy Scout....3 weeks.
