An unpopular opinion is what this is. What would be classified as 'extra messing' in the military, should be added up front to the price of the meal, not by per portion. The punter pays always, but it's about optics. Soon there will be items on the bill saying cover charge, plate charge, cutlery charge, electric charge, portion of rent, Labour charge... The list is endless. Factor it all in to the bill without detailing it, and the punter will pay. It's the extras that piss people off. Same for tipping. Add 20% to the price of the meal, make sure staff are paid a reasonable wage and let people choose to tip.

Thaksin suffering “fatigue and stress” in hospital : Paetongtarn
Scott Tracy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand seems to be deleterious to his health. He appeared well enough to live without hospitalization whilst on the run.... All part of a plan to get a Royal pardon due to Ill health. -
No body should help any body lift so called hand carry luggage into the overhead bins. Fit it under the seat in front of you. If someone helps and hurts their back, drops the bag on someone, what happens, who gets the <deleted>ty end of the stick? This is the risk assessment for cabin crew. Hurt me, I don't fly, I don't fly, someone else has to or reduce passenger numbers. Someone else is available but takes 2 hours to become available, flight crew out of hours. New crew of new aircraft, delays either way, for loss of 1 cabin crew. Regulated industry folks.... As for donuts in the overheads...there is a solution, they don't retain their shape long if a 7 kilo Samsonite is shoved hard against the box.

I have a friend who was a longtime FA on a US airline. She told me that the FAs flight pay does not begin until the doors are closed and that they are specifically told not to assist passengers lifting bags into overhead bins because if they were injured doing so, they were not covered. I think that's another issue...

Firearms killed a record number of children in 2021, study finds
Scott Tracy replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Guns don't kill kids, people using guns kill kids. Americans have the right to bear arms. (Thank goodness that's geographically restricted). No ifs, ands or buts. Voting out politicians who take no stand on gun control could be seen as un-constitutional. Voting for politicians who want people control, now that's the way to go.... Re word laws from 'people under 18 may not have a gun license...' to 'guns may not have a people license unless their properly trained'. The gun that is... You think this is ridiculous...? Try looking at some of current and arcane laws still in place... -
Is it okay to walk naked chest in the streets?
Scott Tracy replied to Goodboybkk's topic in General Topics
Please don't. It doesn't matter what anybody else does. You complain it's hot in Thailand, go somewhere else then. Go to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and walk around shirtless. -

Pay to fly' schemes are an aviation industry practice whereby a professional pilot, whether in training or not, operates an aircraft in commercial service, i.e. on a regular revenue-earning flight – as any other qualified crew member – but instead of receiving a salary he/she pays for the cost of gaining flight experience. Good grief. Imagine this for other professionals?

NACC Probes Pita's Land Sale and iTV Shareholdings

Is this not to be expected? Some unreasonable expectations here, I think. The default position when looking at any politician is...you lie. The issue here is he is unwanted, therefore those who want him gone will out him. Those who are part of the trough will cover their arses but tattle on those who don't play the game. -
US$2.8Bn worth of Thai durian exported to China in four months

Chicken farmer in Thailand. Insurance? Dog control, nature, time of day the dog is alleged to have killed the chickens, security of the 'farm', proof the dog did it.... All sorts of questions for me. And the statement that poison bait should be left around...shouldn't even joke about that. Humans are supposed to be better than animals. I suspect a temper tantrum. Killing an animal that's following its instinct is a bit much. I've seen the effects of poisoning dogs and dogs chasing and killing chickens...
