  1. No one specified how the police box caught fire. Even the news article is wrong to assert that it was set ablaze, as that implies a deliberate act. Until otherwise determined, it caught fire. 'Rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannon were deployed by police.' Does that mean they were used, or just positioned available for use?
  2. If the police job is so lowly paid, why do people do it...? For the brown envelopes, for the percentage of on the spot fines? First responders, they volunteer don't they? Not paid? But do it anyway. Is there such a thing as altruism any more? Perhaps if the nation had a proper emergency ambulance service, and first responders were part of that service...and were full time employees...
  3. To places like what? Thailand, United States, UK? Is the assertion that Phuket is not safe for women travelling alone? Comparisons of countries where towns are more or less safe are spurious, but to state that Phuket is unsafe for women travelling a!one is a nonsense and scaremongering.
  4. Forgive me, but personal responsibility comes into play here. People ignoring curfews need to be policed? No. They need a good slap to get a grip. Whilst I agree that certain rules, regulations and laws are a nonsense, ignoring them and expecting no consequences is peurile.
  5. He that holds a secret shall keep it secret that he holds a secret... Humphrey Appleby, Yes Minister. of course they have secret !ists, anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.
  6. 2 tonnes..2 tonnes....??? goodness me, or Words to that effect. What a complete waste of money and effort and manpower. When trains run North and soith, lorry drivers are desperate for work and can carry a <deleted> load more than 2 tonnes...I No wonder the prices are high when the mode of transport is factored in. Cheeses wept. What are these people thinking? Market economy, my <deleted>.
  7. Hmm, carte blanche by the looks of it. Shotguns, pistols, rifles, grenades, batons, tear gas, armoured trucks, water cannon, shipping containers, microwave and sonic devices...The list goes on. And when a copper gets hit with an air rifle pellet, he whinges to social media. Oh, poor me. I just shot 2 journalists with rubber bullets (probably not him what done it, guv...) but some <deleted> shot back...
  8. I don't think as strong as H20 but also better than nothing. Salt good for gums definitely. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. A bleaching agent at best, rocket propellant at worst...
  9. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand Try this... It continues to tell you the rules....
  10. A nice, convenient round number. No doubt plucked from very rarified air. Nice to know the analysts are still employed. What was the unemployment rate prior to Covid...?
  11. Took quite a few decades for that to happen...perhaps they took awhile to find their brains ? Ah, the Northern Ireland comparison again. Hugely different history.
  12. Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinovac said its vaccine was still effective against the Delta variant of the Corona virus. “This vaccine does not provide 100 percent protection but can still be effective in preventing severity and death,” the company wrote, quoted by the China Global Times media, Saturday (26/6/2021). Wei Sheng, a professor at Tongji Medical College’s School of Public Health, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, said in an interview with CCTV that according to the latest trial results, widely administered vaccines including the Sinovac vaccine are still effective against the Delta variant. Please, verify before commenting.
  13. Companies pay these people to pull numbers out of the air. Why does anyone listen to them? I have yet to find an analyst who was right in hindsight.
  14. Bullet, my <deleted>. Even I can see that it's an air rifle pellet. Does this count as fake news?
  15. Do protesters use tear gas, water cannon? I guess it depends on your perspective about firing first. Firing what first? Protesters also have families, mothers and fathers. While I have certain sympathies for law enforcement, (a phrase I detest, but that's my issue), I wonder how any of them can face their families when they shoot someone without good reason.
  16. His Elon Musk moment will bite him in the bum, if it hasn't already...
  17. Sorry mate, you're at least a year out of date. Stores are selling all this stuff, not like last year when all the aisles were cordoned off. Last year, it's was mass stupidity, can't buy clothes, shoes, hangers, electrical goods... This year, all good, sensible, nothing cordoned off.
  18. Well, there is an element of truth about it. The country has 6.13% fully vaccinated, 15.62% partially vaccinated, according to https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations. Well on the way, well, on the way...
  19. Get a life, boys. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I would also suggest, most Cambodians don't give a rat's <deleted>, as they have more important things to be concerned with.
  20. I wonder if all fake news will be severely punished. Starting at the top. Ah, but that would be asking too much, I feel... I was elected...fake or not? I didn't want the job, fake or not? There will be no coup, fake or not...?
  21. Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, thrice is enemy action. As stated above, follow the money...
