  1. Canada charges $650 CAD which is over 16,000 baht, so you are getting a better deal than I am. I was paying $325 CAD for a 60-day multi-entry tourist visa every year so it's still a way better deal than that.
  2. They are just unhappy that they can't still pretend the election was stolen.
  3. Most of it would be via the wingnut wurlizer. They post it and then it gets passed around and reposted thousands of times, so you don't always know where it originally came from. MAGA world lacks critical thinking skills and seems incapable of independent though, so they are easy to convince of just about anything after they see it reposted a few times.
  4. The DTV offers no such thing, so that first sentence is completely wrong. Visas and income tax are two completely separate things. Different gov't agencies.
  5. The influencers named so far include: Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, and Benny Johnson. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-tenet-media-right-wing-influencers-justice-department/
  6. Anyone know what happens when my passport expires with the DTV eVisa? Not talking about a sticker in the passport but the separate eVisa PDF I print out. It has my passport ID# on it and I will need to get a new one next year. I can certainly bring my old one with me, but will I be able to go into immigration and get my existing eVisa updated with the new passport ID# so that I don't have to do that for the next 4 years?
  7. Pattaya Klang is definitely downhill and it still floods. It basically becomes a river. Even though the water is moving fairly fast there is still way too much of it.
  8. It drains much faster now but they can't make the pipes big enough to completely handle a monsoon downpour. They need to turn some streets into dual use streets/spillways, like they have done in Hua Hin.
  9. And if you applied in the digital nomad category they will have a record of that, questioning you every time you try enter as a tourist. Most likely forcing a lot of people to get that expensive digital nomad visa.
  10. Are they going back to 2 way in Jomtien? I was hoping they would keep it one way with the baht buses doing the loop. It makes more sense now with lots of new condos in that area.
  11. It would be opposite direction to 2nd road, so southbound.
  12. Respect these people? Seriously? No thanks.
  13. Just use google maps in navigation mode.
  14. I can take money out of the ATM and pay for my meal with my smartphone. I think Bangkok Bank charges extra for an ATM card so a lot of people probably choose to just go without that now. During covid, I think you needed to use an app to get into malls at one point. I think there will be more and more of that sort of thing so it will become necessary to have a smartphone even just for daily life.
  15. This is very true. When I go into the doctors office my BP is fairly high even though I do not feel any anxiety or stress whatsoever. When I get it done at those public BP testers its completely normal. I thought maybe they weren't giving an accurate reading but I have tried many different ones and have been told by doctors that they are usually pretty accurate.
  16. I wouldn't bother arguing facts with weirdos when they refuse to accept them, no matter how obvious, and choose to try defend the convicted felon scumbag wannabe dictator instead. Your time is better spent just ignoring them or pointing and laughing.
  17. Fired up and ready to go!
  18. You have to be a real scumbag to start trouble at Arlington Cemetery.
  19. Ok so why can't I post images anymore?
  20. Came here to find an answer and nobody has given it yet. When I asked this somewhere else, and assuming an eVisa so not a sticker in a passport, someone using another type of visa said they were able to go into immigration and get the passport # changed on their Visa. So I am assuming this is how it will work with the DTV eVisa.
  21. I was only planning to stay 2 months, leaving for awhile, then coming back, which I could do without any visa. I am getting the DTV anyways because it removes all the worry about travel dates and not having to go to Jomtien immigration to extend if it came to that. Also, no worries (in theory) about them questioning me about re-entering too much on a visa waiver, which they seem to be doing more often now.
  22. This is what I have been using for my business and personal email for many years now. For Office replacement I use LibreOffice, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
