  1. I found most clinics to be a waste of time for minor things. They always prescribe antibiotics and a bunch of other things whether I needed them or not. Go in for a stubbed toe and they will still prescribe antibiotics. Better off self-prescribing. I used to be against that until I went to clinics in Thailand a few times and concluded they were just going to sell me a bunch of meds I don't need every single time.
  2. My only question is what is it going to cost to pay someone to do this for me? I will be getting a number and filing a return because I know I will have income that applies, but I don't want to have to do this myself. Especially in the first couple years when everyone, including the TRD, is still figuring stuff out.
  3. Didn't you see him in cast and neck brace for the cameras bro? Considering the excuse was that he had a lung condition, seems TOTALLY legit!
  4. My point is that a lot of people would not buy a house to live in unless they could 100% legit own the land underneath it. I am one of those people. I would not consider any of the loopholes you can do in Thailand or the PI either. Only 100% legit freehold ownership.
  5. I read somewhere that foreigners can own land in Malaysia. I don't know if that's true but if it is that would be a huge plus for a lot of people.
  6. How that is a Pattaya or even a KFC specific problem when fast food restaurants all over the world are moving towards that?
  7. They seem to lack situational awareness. Like when they watch loud videos or have loud conversations on speakerphone on a crowded bus or in a restaurant. I don't think it even occurs to them how rude that is.
  8. I can tell you that website is wrong just by looking out the window. https://www.iqair.com/th-en/thailand/chon-buri/pattaya-city
  9. AQI is around 150 this morning, just like yesterday morning. Another day without a morning walk because it's too unhealthy imo. The combination of poor air quality and heavy traffic is becoming increasingly frustrating. Lately, I've been considering moving to Bangkok. The air quality is similar, it's a more convenient starting point for travel, and the rapid transit system makes it easier to get around. Bangkok also offers more decent park options for morning walkers, something sorely lacking around Pattaya imo.
  10. A neck brace and arm sling for a reported lung infection. Must have be some new experimental treatment.
  11. It's quite (over) developed though, and they are still throwing up more buildings anywhere they can. If the area works for you the condo prices are quite good for being that close to the ocean. I would say transportation is a must though. Walking to/from Thappraya to catch a baht bus would get old real fast.
  12. Ya, that's what I said.
  13. I did go there and they did have a machine they let me use. It was just a home battery-operated one they pulled out of a drawer and no dedicated area for using it. The setup in the hospital with more full blown units complete with arm rest in dedicated areas appears to be a better option imo.
  14. I do have one, I just didn't bring it with me and don't want to buy another one.
  15. The hospital ones were much larger and, presumably, higher quality than the battery operated home units. They all had a sling type holder for your arm, to ensure it's in the correct position, and instructions in English saying to keep your palm facing upwards. I tried 3 different machines at two different hospitals, made by two different manufacturers, and all readings were similar, so imo they were accurate.
  16. I go by there quite often. Will keep an eye our for that.
  17. Nothing around there except for the day market, so I would say having your own transportation is a must at that place. If I was going to stay somewhere that requires transportation it wouldn't be my first choice. I think somewhere on Pratamnak would be better.
  18. I did sit down at the nurses station at Pattaya Memorial and do a test. I think those machines are there because it's a part of their check in routine for new patients. Since nobody was waiting they didn't seem to mind me sitting down and testing. Only downside was that I felt a bit rushed to do the test, which can affect the results. Instructions at the kiosks say you should sit for at least a minute before doing the test. I hope you're kidding about the 100baht. No money was expected or given. If I tried to do that I would have probably looked like some dumb farang sex tourist who thinks he needs to pay women for everything in Pattaya. It might have even been a loss of face for them.
  19. I have the exact same problem. The doctor said it's pretty common. He suggested I check my blood pressure over several days at public kiosks or at home and average the readings. Since those readings were normal, he doesn't see a reason to be concerned about the higher readings in his office. Just FYI, I checked my blood pressure at two different hospitals in Pattaya yesterday. It was significantly lower than it has been recently, both at home and in the doctor's office. That was a pleasant surprise! I feel more relaxed here too, so Thailand seems to be good for my blood pressure.👍
  20. Can someone translate this to sober english for me.
  21. I found free-to-use blood pressure machines at Pattaya City and Pattaya Memorial Hospitals. Pattaya City Hospital: Two machines are located outside the side entrance. Pattaya Memorial Hospital: One machine is available at the Emergency entrance, and two more are near the nurses' station by the main entrance. I checked on two machines at Pattaya Memorial and one at Pattaya City. The machines appeared to be of good quality, and all readings were consistent, suggesting accurate measurements.
  22. Are you also an ex navy seal? Seems to be a lot of those around too. Most of the trumpers I see around town can barely get up off the barstool and are all talk. Just like their convicted felon hitler loving orange hero.
  23. Pretty dumb idea bringing your politics overseas like that and making yourself a target. I have openly mocked people in MAGA hats or with Trump t-shirts in Thailand and the Philippines. You don't see us walking around in Harris/Biden shirts because we are not in a cult, so we don't feel the need to do dumb tribal stuff like that. Especially in a foreign country.
  24. I will check that out, thanks! Anyone know of Pattaya Memorial Hospital has them? Or Pattaya City Hospital? Those are the two closest to me.
  25. Define a real pharmacy. You mean like Fascino? I thought Boots/Watsons were also real pharmacies? Do it for me as in they have one of those battery operated testers they will let me sit down and use, or do it for me as in they have public kiosks?
