Actually when they were younger, they attracted boys, as men shouldn't be interested in teenagers. In their 20's and beyond, is where they should be attracting men, although the problem with that is that most aren't going to stay long after they've gotten sex. That's when a woman learns the ways of most men, which makes them angry.

I know. Okay. Yes.

As would a 1000 baht fine. You don't take their scooters away unless they are driving drunk, operating without a license, insurance or not of age. Then until they get insurance proof, a license and are of age you hold their scooters in impoundment. But the problem there, if you punished everyone that was driving like that, the storage place would be the size of the Superdome. Just like in the US, you have a record of their driving, on a central computer, so they can check their records and see if they're suspended or revoked. of course this would take desire, which isn't something they have because they really don't care. -
I didn't assume anything . I didn't say what was most popular here. I see it daily on the TV at my girlfriends house. Much of what Thais listen to is western pop style. If it weren't, all they would have is traditional Thai music. Where do you think most of the dance music they like comes from? Adopted from western style. Look also at the rock concerts. The guitar players have practiced using western tabs.

Not a pride of ownership. Just the freedom to listen to anything I like whenever I go for a drive.

I burn music almost daily. Many of those cd's are burned copies in sleeves. Just like being old school.

I'm not a redneck, so that leaves out Duck Dynasty. La Scala would be a nice night out. So would the opera, a jazz festival, watching Mark Knopfler in concert, Woodstock (I was 13, so missed that one), and Enya on TV. I also understand sarcasm, as I've heard it all my life.

CD's are fun, especially the ones with picture and info. And uploading all of my music would take months from my life. It's easier just to go to my collection, in alphabetical order, and listen to whatever I prefer for that day, and bring the cd's in a box.

True, but if you fine locals, who are doing the majority of the bad driving here, you take money away from those that don't have much, and that's the best deterrent. Taking away their scooters would also work as a lesson. Walking isn't fun, especially if you live in the country. -
I don't understand how they correlate. I love music, always have, many styles, and collect the best of those. I can go to my collection and take a box of cd's I'd like to hear while driving somewhere, which is the main place where I listen to them. I do also collect Dvd's, fishing equipment and hunting gear for the same reason. Part time entertainment.

If you stopped assuming you know what others do, you would be taken more seriously. I'm not a bar person, as I'd rather drink socially with my girlfriend and some of her friends. This is Thailand, and of course you're going to hear more Thai music than western, but much of Thai music is stolen from western styles. Much of Thai music doesn't flow smoothly with the lyrics like western music does. You'd have to really understand music and know what talent is to get this. Thais love western pop and rock music, and this is where a majority of their style comes from, although it doesn't sound anywhere as good as the western variety. Thai music, meaning traditional, sounds good, as the lyrics match the music and playing style. You may or may not understand this, as I don't know how much you know about music and what's good or not.

I'm referring to cultures, and not weirdness in society. Most anything is accepted in today's society and that's hardly a good thing. Many people thought Hitler was an okay person, because he had some good ideas, but the real person eventually came out. The same with Pol Pot, Putin, Stalin, Trump, Kim and others.

ISIS isn't a culture but an abomination of one. There is only one way to deal with terrorists of any kind. Extermination without media coverage. Muslims aren't the problem. Just some people are.

That's the way power works, and always will, until the rich are punished just like the poor. Here, seeing it's a poor country, they feel many can't afford the fines, so they let them get away with most anything, which shows others they can also do the same things. If they fined everyone who drove without a license, didn't wear helmets, rode with more than 2 on a scooter, drove recklessly or too fast, they would reduce the deaths. People would lose hard earned money, but that's the best way to learn better habits. -
Of course, but two I do have I can't do here. Hunting isn't allowed, and fishing isn't good besides some of the coastal areas and private lakes.

Yes, somewhere between 48 and 54K.Before cd's came around, I had 12,000 cassettes, which I sold , and shouldn't have, before I moved here.

Thailand adopts things from all other cultures, seeing they are things they find interesting. Our music is one example, along with western food. They would do much better if they also adopted enforcement of laws in traffic and building and repair of roads. Also enforcement of child support would make thousands of "fathers" act responsibly for the children they create, then leave.

Does this apply to the billions spent on sporting events and concerts? It's all entertainment, and businesses make billions on entertainment. Without this entertainment, society would crumble and depression would be even more widespread, at least the environmental type. Of course many shops make a lot of money on holidays. Holidays people have always enjoyed. Commercialism of Christmas isn't great, but it still reminds people what Christmas is about, or at least many of them. People love to act out, like they do in karaoke, because it's fun. People might make their own costumes, at least some of the more talented, but that's what businesses are for, so the rest don't have to. I actually wish I could be back in the US for Halloween, taking my kids trick or treating has always been fun for all of us, and I wish my 7 year old could enjoy what my grandchildren do now. The real problem with a lot of this is the exorbitant prices concert tickets and sporting events charge, mainly to pay people to just sing or play a game. They don't deserve the millions they make, but people will never stop paying because again, people need entertainment. Thailand is like many other developing countries. They adopt things from other cultures, both as entertainment and in everyday life, as most of the things people use here daily come from other countries. This will continue to happen, as a blending of cultures is always a good thing, as it brings people together.

Which is because alcohol has been accepted for a long time, and casual or social drinking isn't the problem drug use is. Abusing alcohol makes it a problem and many do this, although it's still acceptable. Marijuana doesn't cause anywhere near the problems alcohol does, but it;s still looked down on for those who use it. Ignorance makes things look worse than they are, and vice versa. Millions use prescribed drugs, and die by the thousands every year. Totally accepted because it's doctors doing the prescribing. -

By getting out more, doers that man having anal sex with a man? That would make me gay. Anal sex has been practiced in all cultures, with gay couples and by a man and a woman. -

Being kinky and liking wild sex doesn't make people perverts. I would think most people aren't sexual perverts and just like sex. Perversion is a completely different mindset. -

You'd be surprised how many old school people are drunks. Look at many of the old actors from the early Hollywood days. Drinking was acceptable and many did it, parties all the time, and died very young. And you would also be surprised just how many rich elitists are into drugs. Cocaine isn't cheap, especially if many of your party guests are doing it. There are quite a few drug "addicts" that are in high society and their friends haven't a clue about many of them. If you came from a small town, and the older generation was against drug users, and I'm sure they were, how many of them were heavy drinkers, which was accepted? -

So you like to get girls drunk so you can take advantage of their "easiness"? Again, I think you're assuming that Thai girls are promiscuous. Promiscuity is everywhere, and it comes from having an absent or abusive dad growing up. For the boys, being a predator of women is taught much the same way. A woman will be submissive to a good man who respects her as a person and understands what listening means. Any man can take advantage of teen and young girls because of their naivete and penchant for falling for BS. I haven't yet been to the UK but I'm told there are many slim beautiful women there. The same assumptions are told about women in the US, where I lived for 62 years. I saw slim, pretty women daily and most weren't "Karens". Beefy women, and men, abound in every corner of the world.
