are these sims available instore or online only?

DTAC are just a call away. I imagine at least from DTAC service centres. Have you run a speed test at your place using a standard DTAC SIM?

Make sure that you can actually achieve 10 Mbps at your place before committing.

Innit funny how all the righteous souls on here all live on the beachfront in expensive exclusive huge mansions or super dooper extra deluxe penthouse condos the queen of sheba would be proud of, nowhere near any seedy area but they manage to gravitate to the seedy slum like areas of the city where sex is freely available ( at a price ???? ), can anyone hear a bell ringing ? That'll be my leg, someone's pulling it.

You just made that all up didn't you? Perhaps you can link to the posts of the people whom you describe. All of them.

It's not about the money, it's about choice.  For instance some choose to live on Soi Bua Khao or surrounds. Why?

I like your Jamie Oliver style mock cockney...so that you can pretend that you are one of the lads.

I don't pretend. I don't want to live in sleazy and dirty areas; full of ne'er-do-wells and the homeless, drunks and prostitutes.

If the cap fits, wear it. If you like it there, then enjoy. But why the snide remarks at the people who do not?

I go there to visit the shops and supermarkets and to help those less fortunate. I will give freely; rather than demanding sexual favours in exchange.

You might choose to see yourself as contributing to their welfare...to make yourself feel better about what you are doing.

I do things my way; you do yours your way.

Did you like Pattaya before covid?  If not, why did you chose to stay here, and if so, why, if you like it so quiet?

I have friends here. None involved in the sex industry. Where I live is beautiful. Beachfront. The weather is good even when the weather isn't good. No element of the sex industry where I live.

Central Pattaya is seedy and the beach dirty.

Now there is less pollution and less traffic it is even better for me. But it's not all about me.

Having spent many years in the bars and Sois of the Pattaya "ghetto" I have seen little to no evidence of drugs, exploitation and depression.

As for not liking customers I would say that Thais can hate foreigners as much as the next person.

I don't spend any time in the bars; but I have talked to many over the years. You must be wearing blinkers. They are people. I have seen very many instances of what is described here. But they won't show and tell to people whom they don't trust.

The bicycle thing sounds stupid....you don’t need to wear a mask while exercising. Where I bike daily only Thais seem to wear a mask while the farangs do not.

I wear a mask whilst cycling. I'm not Thai.

Really just a load of foreign children here. No surprise when they all thought they were coming to a playground (for adults).

Jeez the things folks have to do to get their sacks emptied, sounds like a whale of a time.

They have a choice. There are Apps for that. They can also negotiate with their girl of choice with their masks on whilst outside. But if they want to flout the rules by removing their masks and drinking beer whilst doing what they do; then no need to come here crying into their beer when they get fined.

Yes i agree .this poor bloke was by himself .is it just alcohol u can't drink? When i go for a walk i always have mask  with me but obviously not waering when i drink my water so is that illegal  as well

Children....it takes seconds to remove mask, drink water, replace mask. Do you need to be told?

Clearly this person had their mask removed for a prolonged period because he is special. He thinks drinking beer exempts him from mask wearing. He knows now that it does not.

Welcome to Pattaya.  It's no fun here right now.

    https://thepattayanews.com/2021/05/12/pattaya-police-continue-to-crack-down-on-social-gatherings-mask-wearing-and-public-drinking/

-6000 baht for having a beer near Jomtien Beach alone

-4000 baht for sitting with one person outside of their condo, one person had an alcoholic     drink

-5000 baht for walking on Soi Buakhao with a beer from 7-11 alone

-20,000 baht for a group drinking on the beach who all live together

-6000 baht for not wearing a mask while bicycling.

Likely none of those people were wearing a mask outside....which is the point. Wear a mask or prepare to be fined.

I am having fun here. There is more to life than drinking beer on the street.  If you want to hang out on Bua Khao, drinking beer and consorting with ladies for rent, drink your beer through a straw...with your mask on. Don't like it, then stay home. There is fun to be had. Adapt or break.

Your last sentence may well be justified, but it would be helpful to all if the guidelines we clear and unambiguous. In my area there are different rules almost from street to street and depending upon the police officer who stops you. When and if, the rules are posted both in Thai and English and the police are clearly instructed as to their actions in given situations, then and only then can we mere mortals follow the rules.

The rules ARE clear and unambiguous. Wear a mask whilst outdoors. Drinking a beer is not an excuse for not wearing a mask. Drinking water whilst static will likely be overlooked.

Once people stop acting like petulant children it might begin to make sense to them. Always looking for loopholes and then crying when their attempt to find a loophole fails.

Update.   Have just had a message in Thai that my wife translated. Says basically that someone nicked my data!!! So they have switched it off and told me how to switch it ON or OFF.  I haven't seen a refund yet. Not keen to go and visit one of there shops at present.

No need to visit a shop, since they are not the ones who will initiate a refund. Call centres have the ability to initiate refunds. So call....

  11. You don't need to root the phone to modify the HOSTS file. But you will lose your data if you don't back it up.

and yes you will still need a PC.

I didn't get involved in your PC thread as mostly it's a waste of time trying to help people with their PC problems here.
