    Still closed to foreigners - Thai and Myanmar citizens permitted to cross (and will be for the foreseeable futrure, according to border-area Immigration Police). Nothing to do with any diseases. Some people have said it is a Thai response to the on-going civil war... I doubt it. More like a Thai response to cross-border shopping....

    Certainly the most pricy in CM. Quoted my wife over 20,000 for a (pretty well routine) root canal and crown. Got it elsewhere at under 9,000.

    Sounds (and looks..) to be too good to be real. But... Is this available in Thailand?

    The tracks are/were fine; the ballast seems to have been shifted by the flood and that shifted the sleepers as well. The result of that is derailment - minor with what looks to be only a couple of cars.

    Actually, from the old location to Mae Sai Immigration Office, is 60.3km (attached).

    Foreigners are not permitted to pass through the border. Thai can but my wife says there are still restrictions on how far into Myanmar they are permitted to travel. Right now, the only thing for certain is that Thai are permitted (using the known ID Card copy way) to visit the Myanmar border market. (True as of Wednesday)

    The US has one of the worst recycling rates in the world. (or as the case in many states...) NO recycling at all except for the homeless collecting discarded items.

    No, they use glue to seal it (protect from moisture). Three years ago we purchased 12 for use as wall lights (plus an extra 4 - "just in case"). So far, (knock on wood...) 1 failure. But.... the vendor told us if there is a problem after warranty (one year), hair dryer and check for damaged wire AND replace the 18650). The batteries are actually very cheap.

    Global's selection of Makita is very limited. Best to first check Lazada or Shopee. Nana Screw (3 locations on or very near the north-eastern end of the moat in Chiang Mai) has a very good selection. They also do mail order from their website.

    Some m.2 disks have integrated (non-removable) heatsinks. Don't try to force-remove it - it will damage/destroy the drive.

    Main Highway from Lampang to Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai; Doi Saket to Chiang Rai; and many smaller highways are damaged and/or blocked. So good luck.

    Just noticed this thread. There is a knife that I think would meet your requirements - the Victorinox Lock knife (see images). The emblem is also the blade unlock. The blade is 10cm long; and the knife also contains a cork screw, a toothpick and a tweezers. VERY hard to find in Thailand. The shop in Nong Khai where I bought this one 11 years ago is gone.
