  1. Yeah well he started off there so im pretty sure the diagnosis was good then too, could always do a second opinion if it is something serious anyway, at sami etc.
  2. I know a young guy who actually did a heart operation in Bumingrad hospital, he is still alive so I guess that's not a bad option then.
  3. You can't expect them to spend a little on that on land slide sensors or tsunami buoys, what are you thinking. Would cost them 0.0001% revenue!
  4. Same happens in Europe but then they just do it with sea containers full of trash, ditching it in Africa or often partly in the ocean.
  5. That's why I service my stuff at the official dealerships here. Same my motorbike always go to a Honda or Yamaha shop to fix things, it is worth paying a little bit more than the dude around the corner.
  6. That sounds more like the average price in that area for houses.
  7. To add on; politics and economics within a country are obviously like twins. Having to clarify that, to distract the news item, whatever. Fk it.
  8. Just as short sighted as your other comment, many times it is actually due to girls and debts due to that girl. Sure drugs sometimes is involved, or the sole reason, but the main reason is almost always LOVE AND MONEY / DEBT.
  9. Body was found under the first bridge you cross after passing the national park guards booth, after having passed the first small waterfall on the left bend.

  11. Yeah it is likely nothing relevant to economics and crime hence these crime rates exist where poverty reaches a certain level. You must be born yesterday.
  12. It is called microsoft for a reason, or windows; throw it out the window. There is Apple for a reason.
  13. The high ways even start to fall down, meanwhile in Vietnam a pegoda from the year 500 still stands as well as a Taoist temple from the year 1200. To not mention the countless of other buildings since hundreds of years.
  14. Interesting thing to note is that in this new proposal the seeds remain entirely untouched, while this was the biggest to keep item, for the biggest investors, to name one, the Dutch ones. This part worries me especially, as it seems a backdoor compromise deal already took place. Those same people know perfectly well, that they and their friends can keep enjoying pot personally, and make huge business of seeds otherwise. It all starts to smell like one big sell off where certain foreign investors are kept happy enough, while then there potentially is a elite owned medicinal shop plan ahead, which will suck big time, and lack revenue in reportings over the years while everything else goes back to illegal + a easy 3-5K bribe for police aside of shop or dealer payments.
  15. Just a week ago there was some video clip on the facebook page of CP or 7/11, saying how amazingly proud they were on staff trying to take off a fire with water on a electrical pole..... It had ten thousands of likes and comments, all in the positive, I guess just as positive as the electric was. So much for basic logic in one of the richest companies, posting on their social media pages applauding .....
  16. Funny post to read, we had a short circuit caused by a rat eating our electric cables (he/she died due to that), we were almost electrocuted in the shower after aside from having a high chance of burning down the house. It took 5 electriciens and a serious threat to the landlord to find the issue, after being shocked hardcore a few times myself with 'temporary weird fixes'. At the end they found out several other major issues of wrong wired things as well..... Then a week later, I hade a dangerous snake in my house on top of that, waiting to jump on my at the stairways. Life is good, still alive.
  17. Trucks just came down with the body and police etc in Doi Suthep Chiang Mai. A 26 year old Thai guy (psycho looking with glasses) booked a grab, then killed the driver and moved the body to continue driving and rob a gold shop. After that he returned with the car and body to doi suthep, to a specific place I once engaged near a waterfall. Suspect is arrested. A super strange act with little sense, let alone to have driven back to Doi Suthep, passing both a police station as well the tourist police as well the national park guards, ditching the body just 1KM further. Crime will be on the rise with this economics and politics.
  18. You are not a local, it is only you saying that. You are talking just about people who by now know you, obviously, if you stayed here many years. Any other benefits i call it BS, I have plenty of well travelled friends who always get the right prices, simply recognize scams etc etc. What other benefits are then after that? Zero. I can tell just as well, that this is correct, lived here more than long enough to know. These so called benefits are nothing more but a ego thing, to believe ourselves, we are nothing different than the tourists at the end of the day. Even better; a tourist most likely get better service and attention too.
  19. That's the same for any seasoned traveller in general, even he/she never lived here.
  20. They outsourced almost all these callcenter jobs to India and often they have horrible VOIP lines aside from their accents... You will remain stuck with that most times. That's why many westerners also fall for these scams, which seems hard to believe, but makes sense if knowing that type of people is always on the phones at big companies nowadays.
  21. They are not, they seen nothing changed in 20 years, while it did change elsewhere. The majority of Thais want the same thing just as much. To not see that, is stupid.
  22. Grocery shops fk us over hardcore, you can buy even these after eights chocolate mints on lazada for peanuts and then its even delivered in a expensive foam box with dry ice. It amazes me. Believe it was like 140 baht, that is not much more than it is back home.
  23. So what you want to say, that we should just take the risk, because it is not cleared up, even the rules took effect since jan 1? I'm on the same page in terms of being able to risk that and see how it plays out by early next year, to then still be able to leave, even if not having paid this year. But I am certainly not going to risk it for a second year, if the situation remains unclear, to then get a huge bill at year 3 or 5 etc etc. I already made arrangements anyway to live in VN most of the time or at least half of the time. Might even leave entirely, weed laws also not get better.
