  1. Yeah it is likely nothing relevant to economics and crime hence these crime rates exist where poverty reaches a certain level. You must be born yesterday.
  2. It is called microsoft for a reason, or windows; throw it out the window. There is Apple for a reason.
  3. The high ways even start to fall down, meanwhile in Vietnam a pegoda from the year 500 still stands as well as a Taoist temple from the year 1200. To not mention the countless of other buildings since hundreds of years.
  4. Interesting thing to note is that in this new proposal the seeds remain entirely untouched, while this was the biggest to keep item, for the biggest investors, to name one, the Dutch ones. This part worries me especially, as it seems a backdoor compromise deal already took place. Those same people know perfectly well, that they and their friends can keep enjoying pot personally, and make huge business of seeds otherwise. It all starts to smell like one big sell off where certain foreign investors are kept happy enough, while then there potentially is a elite owned medicinal shop plan ahead, which will suck big time, and lack revenue in reportings over the years while everything else goes back to illegal + a easy 3-5K bribe for police aside of shop or dealer payments.
  5. Just a week ago there was some video clip on the facebook page of CP or 7/11, saying how amazingly proud they were on staff trying to take off a fire with water on a electrical pole..... It had ten thousands of likes and comments, all in the positive, I guess just as positive as the electric was. So much for basic logic in one of the richest companies, posting on their social media pages applauding .....
  6. Funny post to read, we had a short circuit caused by a rat eating our electric cables (he/she died due to that), we were almost electrocuted in the shower after aside from having a high chance of burning down the house. It took 5 electriciens and a serious threat to the landlord to find the issue, after being shocked hardcore a few times myself with 'temporary weird fixes'. At the end they found out several other major issues of wrong wired things as well..... Then a week later, I hade a dangerous snake in my house on top of that, waiting to jump on my at the stairways. Life is good, still alive.
  7. Trucks just came down with the body and police etc in Doi Suthep Chiang Mai. A 26 year old Thai guy (psycho looking with glasses) booked a grab, then killed the driver and moved the body to continue driving and rob a gold shop. After that he returned with the car and body to doi suthep, to a specific place I once engaged near a waterfall. Suspect is arrested. A super strange act with little sense, let alone to have driven back to Doi Suthep, passing both a police station as well the tourist police as well the national park guards, ditching the body just 1KM further. Crime will be on the rise with this economics and politics.
  8. You are not a local, it is only you saying that. You are talking just about people who by now know you, obviously, if you stayed here many years. Any other benefits i call it BS, I have plenty of well travelled friends who always get the right prices, simply recognize scams etc etc. What other benefits are then after that? Zero. I can tell just as well, that this is correct, lived here more than long enough to know. These so called benefits are nothing more but a ego thing, to believe ourselves, we are nothing different than the tourists at the end of the day. Even better; a tourist most likely get better service and attention too.
  9. That's the same for any seasoned traveller in general, even he/she never lived here.
  10. They outsourced almost all these callcenter jobs to India and often they have horrible VOIP lines aside from their accents... You will remain stuck with that most times. That's why many westerners also fall for these scams, which seems hard to believe, but makes sense if knowing that type of people is always on the phones at big companies nowadays.
  11. They are not, they seen nothing changed in 20 years, while it did change elsewhere. The majority of Thais want the same thing just as much. To not see that, is stupid.
  12. Grocery shops fk us over hardcore, you can buy even these after eights chocolate mints on lazada for peanuts and then its even delivered in a expensive foam box with dry ice. It amazes me. Believe it was like 140 baht, that is not much more than it is back home.
  13. So what you want to say, that we should just take the risk, because it is not cleared up, even the rules took effect since jan 1? I'm on the same page in terms of being able to risk that and see how it plays out by early next year, to then still be able to leave, even if not having paid this year. But I am certainly not going to risk it for a second year, if the situation remains unclear, to then get a huge bill at year 3 or 5 etc etc. I already made arrangements anyway to live in VN most of the time or at least half of the time. Might even leave entirely, weed laws also not get better.
  14. That's the most unlogical and weird thing I ever heard as an argument to stop driving a bike in Thailand. Seems you have mental issues. Like you wouldn't see it in a car.
  15. Sounds like a bad idea, specially here or in Thailand in general.
  16. Had a lot of them until I got a snake in my house, they were all eaten.
  17. Quality of life you mean unhealthy cheap street food, poor water quality, poor air quality and zero development + soon a lot of breaking things as of zero maintenance? Aside from nature, oceans, corals etc also being destroyed for the most part. Wildlife too. Optimal cost of living? It's double from all the other options in costs.
  18. What do you mean with that, there is plenty of countries in the world. Vietnam just to be one nearby already.
  19. Thailand 12-15 years ago was the best option of all countries, with most infrastructure, easiest visa, low cost of living etc etc. That is no longer today, I am just still here only because i have a Thai family and child. But even that is now decided, she wants to leave too.
  20. Will be amazing exact in the middle of high season: people smoking legal on christmas, last day of the year, to then be arrested, fined at a court + deported on 1st jan '25? This together with the taxes, I guess all clears up fast around happy new year, will make my decision easy, to leave Thailand for Vietnam with my family. Already figured out the new school, housing, visa and more. It is all easier and better for people who actually contribute and employ. Smoking weed would also be the exact same as you can already do that here everywhere in Vietnam too. Same to buy good indoor. A fine, if it is not a bribe, legally by court on the first time, is only a 100 dollars anyway. And the only time that happened so far was when a French guy was growing hundreds of plants in his garden in Hanoi lol. I will laugh so so hard, if Vietnam decides to open medical shops, in 1-2 years from now, while Thailand fked up, again.
  21. Absolutely insane right, they just keep going on with their idiots plans and ideas... Like there is no tomorrow... Same as the plan for a new one that is far outside of CM, it would cause insane traffic jams and suddenly cost you another hour in a car + more taxi money, to get to the city, making it completely unattractive as it would take the same in a taxi to go to Phuket or somewhere else then. All this while the current airport in CM is fine. All these issues they talk about, with it being too small to handle the people, is complete BS. It is the incompetent workers and systems causing that. Even they have these new gates, they still not use them or have 1 staff per gate to do it for you, same as at ferries to Samui, just complete retarded. But the real secret here is that they plan these things already since 10 years, many speculate on the land in these areas since many years, and this for sure makes huge money to certain elite people. Same for the construction of these senseless ideas. I keep laughing at the fact that thais are always so proud on their country and people, and so xenophobic, while in reality, they all try to FK each other over, all day long. All this is money motivated, not motivated for sustainable economic growth, the people and the country.
  22. Maybe read again, I said if i wanted to, I could. And no that is not a computer crime, as long each reservation would be for someone who goes. And even then it would just be the abuse of such system and impossible to trace back. All I wanted to make clear to you is that it is possible. Secondly many agents do this abroad, hence it is so hard to get appointments in like Vientiene etc etc. The government has no interest in improving it, if they wanted to do that, they already had a fool proof and good working system to begin with. Using 2FA based on for example a phone SMS would already solve it for the most part.
  23. Meanwhile in Vietnam you just book a grab, and a motorbike taxi would cost you peanuts, to go anywhere. Even the infamous hawkers there are still half the price of a general one in Phuket or Pattaya etc. I'm pretty sure it has everything to do with many travellers now starting in Vietnam, to then visit Thailand, and simply not accepting it thus complaining more. I don't believe there is any increase, it always was a mess. Same reason most backpackers do a alcohol break once getting in TH, it was way cheaper in VN and they already drank too much there = most bars empty.
