Thailand is no longer the Land of smiles.
ChaiyaTH replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think it is not much about the quantity of foreigners but about the quality of foreigners / tourists. Same how specific tourist areas are always less friendly in cheap busy tourist areas or places like khao san road etc. I'm pretty sure Thailand has always been different since the coup, more or less, not that all is to blame to the coup itself. So I actually do not see a recent change, still plenty of smiles for me. -
I can get his frustration, there is nothing more annoying than drivers who not stay LEFT orientated on the roads, while driving slow. I really do not get this, specially with motorbikes driving on the middle or right side of the lane. And then worse, they not even notice you. I sometime take them over from nearby, driving fast, and then crossing back LEFT aligned on the lane, just hoping them to get the point.

As of so many replies, the OP likely asked this as Makro was originally Dutch, now its owned by CP in Thailand. In Netherlands it is only for business owners, and you actually need to register to get in.

Foreign Tourist Drowns in Strong Waves at Pattaya Sea
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Complete nonsense, it is very easy to drown in the ocean. Even if the water is not that deep, one could get cramps too, I had this once in a normal pool and could barely get to the side. Aside of so many other factors or things that can play, could even get a heart attack while swimming and people just think you drown regular. -
Yeah well if you live with the lowest of lowest + do business in hospitality and tourism, it does not even matter anymore if you work illegal or not, anything you do would be looked at and used against you when the day comes they are tired of you. That is not comparable to normal life or doing some small things as the OP and others describe at all, I think it's complete nonsense to even be worried about stuff like this. Would not even worry a second to fix phones or computers for friends, I help them too. Imagine if you lived like, some people here always claim, with all that is illegal and wrong, and not possible, life would be very simple dull and limited anywhere on earth.

Koh Samui Businesses Call for More Flights to the Island
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
BS, it is about the fact that Bangkok Airways dominates it and is super expensive. There is more than enough volume, ferries daily are packed to the last seats. -

You are aware that Vietnam has the FTA with EU already? They are ASEAN too. -
What you look for in a massage ?
ChaiyaTH replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If it is a good massage, I enjoy them but most just did this <deleted>ty course or learn it from home, that's not worth it for me. For those tourist and local cheap shops I just would go to get a foot and hand massage, as little can be done wrong with that. To be honest; rarely went to the cheaper shops for a massage, I just wanted to handjob. -
To make it readable using Enter: If you want to obtain a loan with a property (chanote) as guarantee, it seems that the ownership of property has to be transferred to the money lender at the Land Office first. I remember reading on ThaiVisa that it was possible to sign a contract, or maybe add a clause to the Chanote that prevents the property being sold without the permission of the 2nd party, effectively giving the second party control of the property. They can then proceed to lend money using the property as a guarantee. Is this possible or I am I wrong in this? It seems that the cost of making a transfer to obtain a loan plus the cost of re-transferring the property back to the original owner once the loan is paid back would swallow up a large chunk of the property's value. Any advice would be welcome.

So that is 1000% you being the problem, nothing I can find to swim in, give me a fkng break. Bet you jump into that nice smaller pool at any 5 star resort, not knowing 100 people <deleted> in it the past 3 days, without cleaning. But an average beach, to swim in, oh no. I even swim in extents of the river of BKK, knowing to not drink the water, as little as you would want salt sea water inside yourself. People likely want a pool within the ocean in 5 years from now, with only booster shot QR holders, being allowed in.

Of course they do, but in most cases that type of visting guys also have many girls on their list. I just see it as a transaction, to expect love out if is quite foolish or else rare.

Because these people are usually back home, extremely bored at work and with their life. It then becomes horny material for helping themselves with the hand, if a cute girl sends pictures, videos or even (video) calls you for money. Tens of millions of guys do this, not only with Thais of course.

When asking or confronting her with guys: ''He is just a friend''

I guess you have not read 1 paper of the Twitter files, did you? There is a lot more going on, including the election fraud, this is not the end of that conversation yet at all. Not to mean much more and worse things done during Trump his presidency, and not by Trump. Always the same with sheeple, they do not even remember what they complained about for years while Trump was a president, while those same things now continued worse. Or like with covid, sure many of the users here still would like another booster shot.

Pattaya is def heaven for that in Thailand, if also taking in consideration of the low prices there for foreign food. Plus baht bus.

They seem to look at specifically Chinese and then also those who run businesses, in certain categories. If this would actually be about all wrong doings in immigration, the list of locations would be far longer, and they would likely have 100,000,000 + papers. Just a show if you ask me, they have to do something and my best guess is, the whole news is death in 6 months from now. Instead they will now just offer more expensive 'legal' versions for visas for these Chinese people in the future.

Pattaya Police Ban Airhorns at Bars Citing Noise Pollution
ChaiyaTH replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Not a single day having this issue down south, but that is also why I moved south. The worst here is maybe once in 2 weeks the speaker truck for a Muay Thai fight, i like that.
