  1. Credit card lol, the emergency cash is exactly for when that no longer works or applies. Else cash is always in the bank too.
  2. This confuses me still daily, honestly. Like I know people in BKK working for 15K a month, cheap 2K room etc while they can have jobs with a free small room included, on the islands, and earn easily 20-25K including tips (except maybe low season a bit less), yet there is not anyone to find or even in line to get a job. They are 90% all burmese, and the performance is just as <deleted>ty. The only fun part about it is when people from BKK visit here and keep talking Thai to them, not knowing they don't understand a single word of what they are saying lol. Anyway; Where are all this people who need money if they not look for work?
  3. When my wife starts cooking it hits 150-300 lol.
  4. I think what he is trying to say, this happens every year but it usually never lasts too long. So it is 'naturally happening every year'.
  5. I don't see the point of wearing a watch anymore, our phone shows the time already. Same with people wearing apple watches. Rather have some gold(en chain) as emergency cash.
  6. Sounds like a horrible plan but thanks for the extensive reply and information. In my logic you can simply fly in the afternoon from Bangkok, take a taxi to the border and stay over night, be the first the next morning to cross and do the application. Leave the next day again and fly back by evening too. So my question basically was and is: how's about taxi's and minivans at the airport (roi et).
  7. If he doesn't look like a muay thai fighter and the girl seems really hurt, I might just find a brick and hit him on his head. Joking of course, I will land in jail and the girlfriend will then hate me. Usually these couples and people deserve each other anyway. She will just stay with the guy too.
  8. Except for a few days, no issue with pollution down south and enjoying beaches daily. You would have the same pollution in any country if it is for a few days a year. To live in Bangkok or Chiang Mai etc is a choice, TH is bigger than that. To move back for this silly, also might bore your miss who ventures for more fun in farangland over time.
  9. There is always plenty of rice, potatoes no issue to grow too. Vegetables and other things can be done in a month here if doing hydroponics. Aside of that plenty of fruit, chickens and eggs too. Little reason to be a big prepper here. Same with water wells. I do have prepped in terms of additional water filters, medical supplies, solar/battery and similar items. As well kindle in EMT protected box with all the books (SAS survival etc etc) + backup.
  10. The point is that vaccines for Rabies no longer work, if you start injecting and symptoms already started. There is days between the shots too, if you didn't have any recent ones in the past. It is not just the brains, it starts from the spinal cord. So sooner the better.
  11. I noticed last year same as this year, we usually can't see Samui for 4-6 weeks or so, and then it got better again in late May I think. There was quite a few hours of rain on Phangan today, cooled off, we barely had wind too last days, was super sticky hot.
  12. Can anyone advice on traveling if flying first to for example Roi Et Airport, to the border, as well the costs? Bus and taxi? Or another airport also fine.
  13. Everyone knows that the benches along the moats in inner CM city are full of homeless, rats and more. Not to mention LB's sometimes later at night. Would never sit there, specially not as you said you saw rats biting trees beforehand lol. Perhaps only during the day time, it is doable (rat free, homeless free, garbage free)
  14. Depends where you are but what is the hassle anyway, just buy the Grab motorbike packages for additional discount, and book those, will just be 20-30 baht for 500 meters anyway. They are often there in minutes, you can even book it when nearly arriving already.
  15. Actually 70% of all wealth is with 50+ people, so eventually it goes back to them. It is actually the biggest wealth transfer in history, that is soon due.
  16. I call these people, rich on paper people. They might be able to show or claim this 1 million yearly pension, or even are millionaires, specially americans with paid of homes etc. But the reality is that they wasted most of their life, and gonna die with most of the money. I prefer people who find a middle way, like myself, and enjoy as you live. To save money on your water bill, in SE asia, then you simply suck and are a very sad person. Rich dad poor dad basically, the guy the OP writes about is poor dad (for those who don't know the book, the poor dad is not actually poor, but he is compared to rich dad). I also think in the same time it's so sad to see many people with loads of money, but no financial education, thus thinking they have nowhere enough to retire early or live here, while they can easily. I really laugh about this, I started with 5K euro 10 years ago, and I am still here today, better off than ever before even.
  17. Easily, sponsor deals for even just a 1M subscriber channel pay easily 20K USD per deal, of 1 minute. The original YT ad revenue is actually just a side income for many. Same so many girls are self obsessed now, even they only seem to have 5-10K followers, they still make money with it. Specially in economies like the one here.
  18. Millions of no-life Thais, who watch youtube and other social media like 8 hours per day. Yeah that will generate ad income sure. Knowing that, to then still produce, is like being a digital drug dealer or pimp. I never did business in social media for this reason.
  19. My password actually has near double the 18 characters too lol, silly AI news all the time, it can barely do anything like this today.
  20. Lol, the supplier excuse. They just wanted or needed more money, 455 for a cheeseburger is a lot of money lol, I think you can get it in a 5 star hotel for that money. The last time I paid near 500, I was sitting in mahanakhon tower.
  21. Hehe yeah, 40B per kg is peanuts. I do it myself at home pure out of convenience and being lazy to drive twice to a shop + wait a day.
  22. Bought a new Samsung machine 50/50 with landlord, staying at least 2-3 years and costed me 2700 baht. I usually can run a laundry, hang it out and have it dry by wind within a few hours only, a lot better than all the laundry shops, having to drive there, wait a day for the cheap price etc. Also it smells better as I buy some decent detergent, my clothes stay better for longer. As well super useful with all the towels and bed sheets. But if not having that, in most places I still know multiple 40B per KG places. Bangkok however is tricky, and I do not like drying machines in those new places too. Better to air dry it if you ask me. I usually leave Bangkok within days, as I fly with hand luggage usually + run out of clean clothes lol.
  23. She has like 80M USD net worth, that will get you a visa anywhere lol.
