Anyone know of a local company who might insure for theft of 1984 Jeep?
ChaiyaTH replied to rabiedabruce's topic in Phuket
Actually someone took my bike by accident, same model 2012 click, same colors, somehow his key worked on mine too. I then located it and got it back. Same principle I guess? The funny part was my key didn't work on his bike. The apple airtags are just a bit bigger than a 10 baht coin. -
Sounds more like you make things insane complicated while there are 10 alternative and better solutions for that.

Just put a GPS tracker + 2 seperate apple air tags in the car. If it ever gets stolen you would know where it is right away and they won't know about the airtags until 8-12 hours later (if they use iphone). They will rip the original GPS tracker right away and think to be safe. Have them in all my bikes, works like a charm, battery last a year. -
You can't do dropshipping on Lazada or Shopee, only Chinese can do that. And yes, that is unfair competition. Thais can also not sell on Vietnam etc for example, but Chinese can. So support your locals and pay a little bit more for something that is here already.
-
You should, we had many returning and long-term customers for our fast shipping + decent boxes / no damages. They did pay 50-100 baht more with us.

I complaint about multiple 500-2000 baht withdrawals on my card, i did not notice until the big hit of 30K + happened. I called kasikornbank right away, had the money back 9 days later.
-
You reckon wrong, you don't get money on Lazada until delivery is complete. I am not doing the finances, but we used to get it about every 10 days. Shopee faster. However some very 'little ghosts' have little cashflow, and order it when sold one, so yes, it is likely they don't have their own stock but they still have to finance your order first. Their rating will drop as a result so usually they are gone within 3-6 months.
-
Happens quite a lot for shops to do that but they lose rating very fast and then usually close shop. As a shop owner myself (with my wife) as well one as a business, I notice there is no issue with the better ones if you chat to them upfront too. It is often those with no loyalty for existing shop owners, to go shopping at one of the little cheaper ones, with that as a result. You get just as many bad experiences if buying cheap stuff in europe from aliexpress. Also if you look at how much is being bought on lazada, the complaint amount is a joke. Not understand the posts here, could post about 100 things daily in that case.

Seven French motorcyclists fined for causing a nuisance in Phuket

Can't see how any of the people participating in stuff like this, in Thailand, can be genuine or good to keep here too. If they were like 16-17 years old, I could understand. -
Krabi is nothing much but any island would do, there usually is plenty of breeze near a beach.
-
Higher temps, lol, I run less AC on the islands than anywhere else. Plenty of airflow down south, much nicer than anywhere central or up north. Bangkok I can't even walk 30 minutes or I need another shower, same Chiang Mai. Down south no issue at all.

Gonna be a lot of STD's and new lost babies being made during the visits. Happy to hear they can't go to soi 6, then the gold stays golden. Let's hope no drunk Russians steal the ship.

Court grants temporary release to two hunger strikers

Let me guess, applied for appeal that then is being paid for monthly, to stay at the bottom of a big stack of papers, in hope of some solution mid-term. Seems that is how it goes down here often. What about Premchai, wonder if he is even inside of jail at all. All we know he just stays in some villa via the back door. -
Where to get a decent accomodation in CM right now?
ChaiyaTH replied to miancina's topic in Chiang Mai
The buildings are concrete and poor isolated, single windows. Old as well. In cities they get very hot, hard to keep them cool, unless perhaps in lucky cases where all your neighbours already run full steam. On top of often older aircons, or higher than government electric rates. 6K is certainly over the top, but it is no surprise to get 2.5-3.0K baht electric bills at a 4K room. Unless you love to heat. Also, not so much about it being a 4K room but more the general size of a studio, would be same at a 12K condo new building studio size (which are also concrete and poor isolated). Mind you that the 4-12K rates usually are 3+ month contracts with some deposit. Aside all this, transport costs also add up, easily gets 3-5K per month. If you factor in all these variables, it is not that bad of a deal to be on walking distance of everything, without deposit or contracts, at just 15-20K a month. But then again, this is why ''what you like'' matters, some people would rather be 20 mins out of town for < 5K rent so they can then rent a big bike for 5K too, and enjoy 5K on fuel to drive around. -
If all these mentioned things are so obvious to you, and you had 2 cents of brains, you would know you can fly there for 1K baht in 1 hour. So what is your actual question? All is obvious but you expect us to tell you that a 12-13 hour train ride, where you usually sleep over night at, is like a Harry Potter experience just because it goes from Bangkok to Chiang Mai?

So true, specially those cheap rooms the AC easily nears equal of the rent. And never is included for those deals at 6K too. -

Chicken farms with loud drunk people and showers full of hair you mean. Tell me 3 places around the city center now that offer a private room for 6k a month without having a long-term contract and I buy you a case of chang or leo to choice. Obviously i mean a OK private room, not to sleep next to short time using people and junkies lol. -
is it possible to get a cabin now for decent price
ChaiyaTH replied to miancina's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
That's a crappy housing deal budget or needing to spend 3K more on a bike aside of gasoline. Let alone if you want actual privacy, no not for 1-2 months. No wonder you now ask about Chiang Mai, you considered to get arrogant and a cheap deal there instead already. -

What is ridiculous about that? That comes down to just 750-1000 baht per night, that is what 500 baht was 5-6 years ago. Even includes your cleaning, electric bills etc. This without any deposit or long-term contracts. You pay that about anywhere unless going for 3-6-12 months deals. -
Laughing my ass off, the last place any girl would be undercover is Pattaya lol. It is funny, if she was a guy, she would fall for the first one with a better story, that actually is 'undercover' in the way she meant it.

If asking what you mean with fun is a strange question to you, I think you have little future on expat life and forums. That you automatically associate fun with potential erotic subjects, means you are actually the potential sexist in the room too. Some people consider fun to be just good gyms and coworking spaces, other all care about golf courses, others indeed might just be looking for sleezy nightlife options and then again others might just wanna know all about the temples or roads in the mountains to ride with a bike. And so many more. It is a essential question before being able to answer anything more, sensible, in detail. How you would travel, what areas would be likely most suitable and so on and on. I guess you are just a troll fake account anyway, otherwise you are seriously lost. Actually see how short lived you are here, how little you posted, and how obvious it is you are a woke.
