  1. Go for Prostate artery embolisation, it may even improve sexual function. It isn't available in Thailand, while it is in Europe and Singapore.
  2. I din't provide any tax return as I don't pay any income tax, anywhere. I provided my 2021 UNJSPF statement, as well as a UBS 2021 statement of the account where I get my pension paid. No questions asked.
  3. I am 70 and have a very large prostate with a small low grade cancer, under "Active surveillance" since 2018. Currently I am under medication: Finasteride 5mg, Doxazosin 2mg and Taladafil 5mg, this gives me very acceptable quality of life, while I can have sex at any time of the day without planning. If my hyperplasia gets worse, I'll get prostatic embolisation first, and only consider other surgeries if this fails. Of course, if my cancer wakes up I'll have to change plans..
  4. The true dynamics of a competitive economy rests essentially on the shoulder of a "quality" workforce. Mai phen rai.
  5. Dunno how you can say that. These are the fares I was used to before Covid, even somewhat lower. And that's a shame, governments should step in and heavily tax,
  6. Would be about time. But the Thais aren't the only, in Switzerland the media did it systematically.
  7. Maybe @ubonjoe should give his opinion on that one, reckon he'll disagree with most.
  8. We certainly don't reduce a country's economy to its tourism. We don't have the need to see ourselves as the most important part of the picture. You know, it is unfortunate that we can't have any proper figures as the spending of this group will remain mostly underground but my guess would be that they contribute way less than 1% to the Thai economy. So much for [not] understanding economics..
  9. When I am "browsing" on a certain web site I set one of my search criteria to Nationality = Thai as I believe that the locals are more honest about the gender. In other countries post ops then to sell themselves as girls.
  10. Doesn't say much. And their last comment on the tourists staying in 2 or 3 stars hotels is amusing as they seem unaware that they amalgamate the begpackers with people who stay in better resorts.
  11. The economy hasn't survived? Around me everything is business as usual. Maybe inflation, which has been cause mostly by central banks printing money in 2020/2021, so yes Covid related.
  12. Errr.. What has been proven by Covid? Other that lockdowns aren't good for the economy? Also I'd love to know the proportion of drug users amongst the begpackers? And let's not talk about prostitution. Thailand has indeed to fix its Tourist industry. Whether Immigration can do that I don't know, as they can only control demand. There should be a lot more work on the supply side, which some powerful people wouldn't like.
  13. You gotta be joking, they rent rooms for 1000 Bahts a night and eat street food for 300 Bahts a day. Thailand doesn't need them there are millions of locals who spend that much for any of the innumerable official Thai holidays.
  14. Thanks, no one could have written a better description of what anal bureaucracy is. My point is that it might have been deliberate to make BOI and its customers a bit more miserable. Frankly, how many people are they going to catch?
  15. You don't like the French obviously. I should report this post.
  16. Agree, most tourists want to enjoy the daylight, it is the expats who are wingeing. The dedicated sex tourists do exist, but they are a small proportion of the masses who a mislead to come to Thighland.
  17. The point is that marital situation is irrelevant to issuance of a retirement visa wile, as pointed out by @ThailandRyan, it is to the issuance of a visa to the spouse/dependent of a retirement visa holder.
  18. Yes, but in my case it is totally unnecessary, as my new visa is a retirement visa, and obviously my [Thai] family doesn't need one. The only reason I could imagine was that Immigration wanted to make a show of power and came up with something that's plainly stupid. Possibly they resent the effective business like attitude of BOI, and try to show them how a good old obsolete bureaucracy should work.
  19. Still wondering why Immigration (not BOI) require that. My first reaction, early October, was that I was an exception with my Thai Wife extensions. But now them seem to make it a rule. So, any ideas?
  20. Bashing? I got a 10 years visa and zero interest in Thai citizenship. I got my PR visa in Paris in 1980 and Australian citizenship in 1985. But yes it was a win win. Obviously "Material's science" was too reminiscent of Louis XiV, when some wise men were dedicated to the study of the King's stool....
  21. Total piece of cake, I did it. Got PR visa from my home country. Zero formalities on arrival, a few years later we filled in a few forms, swore an oath of allegiance, they played Advance Australia fair (beautiful anthem) and we were Aussies. The icing on the cake was that the natives were totally charming and welcoming, amazing atmosphere at work, going to the Cricket (tough one) and the footy (a lot more easy). Just want to add that I respect and love my country of adoption, and I could imagine myself respecting Thailand in its current state. Making an oath of allegiance would be just unacceptable.
  22. More nonsense, I got my Australian citizenship in less than 6 weeks, had to fill in a few forms and one interview. Got permanent residence as my initial visa, as I had skills in high demand.
