  1. Dumb stereotype that discredits anything you could say, if that was still need. I never go to bars, and based my comment on the rules and regulations, as well as first hand accounts.
  2. You didn't get it, it is something you should see as a solution for point 5.
  3. It doesn't that's right but OP was right as he wrote "leading to". Now he would be be extremely naive if he expected other than utter reluctance, parochialism and preposterous requirements from the Thais once he submits his application for permanent residence or citizenship.
  4. The office, at the stadium you went to was due originally to be at the border near Ban Kruat, which has never been opened as planned 5 years ago. I know the pleasant "maskless" officer quite well, even in the midst of Covid waves he was reluctant to wear one. So to come back to your question, there is another Immigration office, somewhat larger and quite nice too, about 4 km down the road, and, in the fullness of time, the stadium one might move to its final destination at the border.
  5. The have inappropriate officers too? Guess that's why they get referred here to as IOs?
  6. Same here, but I got the 10 year BOI/LTR now. 50K is a somewhat lesser risk. Was totally painless to get. "90 days" reports are yearly ????, and income tax exemption is official.
  7. Agree totally, almost down to the person who provides your support. Can go from nice, dedicated and smart down to total moron.
  8. I have a joint account with my wife at Bangkok Bank. So, withdrawals, payments, etc.. can be made individually. Unfortunately operations such as replacement of bankbooks, replacement of cards require the attendance of all account holders. Pretty stupid isn't, I have tried to theorise about and and/or or, and just got the expected Thai blank look of when things get complicated. So forget it and get the death certificate.
  9. We didn't have the stupid village marriage but I paid 800000 Bahts which allowed the ILs to get a decent house. I promised that if I survive that long we'll have some celebration at the "first booboom" 20th anniversary, which will be, roughly, the 15th anniversary of our legal wedding. But no more Sin sot.
  10. More for OA and/or OK as they offer a 100k policy, while only 50k are required for LTR. Not sure it would make much of a difference once the higher deductibles would get factored in.
  11. Good. I hate distorted pricing. Everyone must know the true cost of what they use. I some are in need the government can intervene with handouts, for Thai nationals only. Please don't shout at me as I firmly believe that National Parks should have a single price for everyone.
  12. Article tactfully avoids giving any number. When increasing minimum wage to 600 Baht seems to be an issue.
  13. Have they deployed an on line form to the visa to a new passport (change the passport details on the e-visa)?
  14. The reason why I have always kept my boarding pass is that it is the first thing they will request when you make a claim for lost luggage.
  15. That's the only e the bike I've ever rode, I leave the motorised ones to the wimps.
  16. I'd make sure the multi re-entry permit is duly stamped in your passport. Maybe worth paying a visit to BOI if you are in Bangkok.
  17. Yeah, looks deadly enough. There are 20cm deep potholes around my place. Stick to SUVs.
  18. Fusion has been used by the military for exactly 70 years. First H bomb
