Careful with the wording on 'in' and 'out' patient. I've just had all in, 5 months of diagnosis, tests, treatments and follow ups for prostrate cancer. All but 1 night when I had a Biopsy was as an outpatient.

Have to agree with this and just to add, my PSA was 24 and Gleeson 9 when diagnosed. I am being treated by both the Urologist and the Radiotherapist specialists at Siriraj and the latter would not suggest the brachytherapy thus it was 28 shots on the Linac (1.5T 7MV) , which is the only one of its kind in South East Asia. I will never know whether the other options would have been more successful or create less after effects. My experience led to complications with my bowel and bladder that have since ( 2 months after completing treatment) have resolved to nearly 'normal' although the 3-4 bathroom visits a night are still required. Cost wise , all in was £10k and the level of care, equipment and surroundings although a public hospital felt like a private hospital. More importantly my PSA last measured at 0.6 although I haven't had any further scans to advise on the cancer cells, however the radiologist advised the 'shots' were accurate and were having the correct impact. I'm as strong now as I was before treatment, eating well and have put on 3 kilos, possibly due to the hormone treatments; which are fun with hot flashes in this heat. There's more if you want, but that's it in a nut shell, good luck with whatever course you choose.

We joined the EU in January 1972 and from then until the UK left the organisation the £ sterling really did plummet , halved in value to £1.27. What does that say regarding the membership of the EU? Apply the same logic please.

Brexit occurred February 1st 2020 when the exchange rate for the Thai baht was 40.7 (apprx). Today it's 46.02 (apprx). That's a 13% increase in the exchange rate. Are some people getting a really poor exchange rate that leaves them 20% worse off? What is true is the rate of inflation in Thailand which I accept has devalued our purchasing power here. I'm struggling to see what effect Brexit had in Thailand.

Whilst I understand that that can certainly be the case, I would say its a bit of a generalisation. I know there are many reasons why people don't and can't create a personal strategy in the form of friends etc. but I would suggest it makes good sense to do so. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and the help from family (Thai) and certainly the numerous hospital staff was tremendous. I certainly wasn't on my own, and that wasn't by luck. Make a plan for the inevitable.

Although the extra scrutiny could affect me as a retired and hopefully permanent fixture here, I welcome this. I left the UK partly because of the *hit hole it was deteriorating into; behave in Thailand and you can have a great life.

I understand the complaints and criticism, however in my view a 6 month delay on a project this size and complexity is surely reasonable. I drive the road frequently and there are delays on occasions; I'm retired here so a precious extra 30 minutes doesn't phase me. Maybe it's because I come rom the UK. Only 20% of income paid by the motorist in taxes is used for road infrastructure. The roads are ill maintained and the largest project in the last few years was to turn the emergency breakdown lane of the motorways into a 'part time' extra lane. This grand ides resulted in many deaths . At least Thailand is planning ahead with this scheme whereas the motorist in the Uk is constantly persecuted with surveillance at every road junction, excessive parking fees and extra taxes to enter certain areas of a city in the name of 'combatting climate change'. Oh I almost forgot, we get to benefit from this despite 70 baht/litre.

I was diagnosed with cancer several months ago and started on a journey of fact finding and treatment. I stumbled across a TikTok post claiming that Fenbendazole, a dog worming drug was being promoted as a cure for cancer. I read multiple reports and followed up on claims and was skeptical of the posts by people claiming they had cancer and that the drug was ‘curing’ them. Further research led me to reports of MD’s claiming there was some evidence of it working and others that it was unproven. When I read a medical journal that had evidence that the drug could cause organ failure I posted this on the TikTok post and received quite strongly written animosity. I ultimately decided to place my health in the hands of the medical profession here in LoS and my view at 70 years old is that if it’s not the Big C that gets me something else will. For starters I stay away from riding motorbikes here, that will surely extend my life by at least another 10 years. A footnote to add is that part of my treatment is estrogen female hormone injections. Hot flashes in this country are no joke, however being full of all this goo I am now always correct when having a discussion with my other half.

All of it, including visa applications. Hope it's not so high up that I don't suffer a nose bleed attending.

Cha Am. 2-3 hours from Bangkok....thus, hospitals (university teaching), airport(s), oodles of shopping and entertainment. Meanwhile, beautiful beaches, nightlife on a small scale resulting in a quiet life if you want it, a good Thai flavour with plenty of western luxuries available (Hua Hin), a mix of nationalities that on the whole are responsible and make for good friends. Cost of living there is lower than where most other traditional 'falangs' congregate and last but not least , on the edge of Chaeng Krachan national park.
