Some advice needed to get a Type O visa
zzzzz replied to localexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
the 2 i know require you show the 800,000 cambodia; https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-o-visa-retirement?page=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a1&menu=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a2 Laos; https://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/non-o-visa/ ok Fyi if they didn't require the 800,000 i could have saved a bundle ???? -

Some advice needed to get a Type O visa
zzzzz replied to localexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I just converted from a Visa exempt entry to a non o visa and than added a 1 year extension using an agent Look at what visa ur on, Is it a NON O or>>>>>? IF you hold non O you can get the RE extension ( if you have the 800,000 in the bank or can show an outside income of 65,000 baht/month) at any immigration for 1,900 you will need to have filed a tm 30 as well if you dont, you can convert in Thailand for 2,000 baht If you travel to another country you will need show 800,000baht or equivalent in ANY bank to get a single entry 90 day non o -
HUH? just cause u stay at a hotel in Thailand has absolutely nothing to do with a 90 day report Hotel is merely reporting ur staying there> PLUS as i understand it, you do not need to file a new tm 30 once u return home to ur residence and you were merely out an about> so in response to my question> Yes you need do ur 90 day report at the immigration you received ur extension from if dong it in person., Thanks ????

Back in the late 80's & 90', that was NOT just non B< anyone staying over 180 days in a calendar year was required to get tax clearance ( mine show 792 to 1,460 baht) Yes even on tourists visas, as back than i never held an non anything visa i was living/working out of hk yet kept a house in Nakula> Receipts stapled in the back of ur passport and some are stamps.

Laos/Cambodia Border Crossing
zzzzz replied to Eddie45's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Laos is much less westernized and MUCH better to have ur own transport> Cambodia is more Chinese, dirtier. poorer and food less appealing, BUT than again more to do, ( nightlife in PP and SR ) and Angkor wat is a MUST visit You also have visa runs to Burma, although visa is more costly an currently you need fly is no land border crossings Malaysia visa not required for most western passports for 90 day stays -
