This is completely normal for Cambodia You could have saved some $$ by paying $30 for the Cambodian visa an 3-500 baht, for a same day return>> Never been less than 300 baht for years or travelled to Palin an stayed the night an returned the next day

What is a "Ghost Run"
zzzzz replied to AgMech Cowboy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would not consider that a "ghost run" "Ghost runs" were those were you were in Phuket, Bangkok and never left, although ur passport went to Malaysia ( either the border for a stamp in an out or Penang for a new visa) an back Many people use a "helper" at poi pet but they still travel to the border just they physically dont leave thailand but their passports go upstairs, across the street, back upstairs an back to you -
fly in on a visa exempt ( free) 30 days, use onwardflights dot com for a flight out 28 days after you land< apply for ur non O visa at immigration any day you want after you land Its the Airlines that ask for ticket onwards, not immigration If you do have a tourist visa airlines usually dont ask for an onward ticket

zzzzz replied to Baz Erckens's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
yes really, u are stamped into Cambodia, ( so your IN Cambodia) than the casinos are on ur left as u head down, i've entered here many times going back to 2010 the check point is for cars/motorcycles and i've been stopped only once not exactly true although Cambodian immigration (specifically at poi pet) will tell you it is so and charge you 300 baht ( pre covid) the visa run companies include this "gift" in their price -

Thai Bank Account for retirement...new rules?
zzzzz replied to Dghart001's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
thats the price for going from a tourists visa to a non o visa to a 1 year extension with NO MONEY in the bank some banks will charge you around 5-6,00 baht for insurance to open an account on a tourist visa -
u need fill out this form: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/22.Transfer-Stamp-to-New-Passport-Form.pdf I read on a facebook post that someone in Bangkok, on a retirement extension, they asked him for his bank book an told him he had to do the transfer ONLY where his extension was issued I hope thats not true for here in Phuket>> as i used an agent as i understand it, there is no time limit to do it and you can use old an new passports till extension expires
-
no they dont, US stopped doing that in April: Your OLD passport is invalid the day your new passport is issued< I would not try using it! So take both: you will show both at border, stamped out in new one and enter next county on new one< return on new one when u have both, fill out a form and immigration will transfer needed info to new one FREE OR i am told it can be done at the airport
