Officials from the Andaman Maritime Traffic and Safety Control Center and the 3rd Naval Area are tracking ship activity along the west coast in recent days in an effort to pinpoint the offending vessel(s)... Beaches in the northwestern part of the island including Nai Yang, Mai Khao, Nai Thon and Layan all experienced pollutants being washed ashore in the past few days, with further reports on social media of Patong Beach being impacted late yesterday (Aug 5). It prompted an extensive clean-up operation yesterday across a 10-kilometre span covering Nai Yang, Mai Khao, Nai Thon and Layan Beaches where teams consisting of National Park officials, lifeguards and volunteers pitched in to clear the pollutants and any other debris from the respective beaches. There were also several instances where wildlife had been impacted and rescued by beachgoers who then passed the stricken animals onto officials who meticulously cleaned them and nursed them back to health. A baby turtle and a bird were just two such examples. The clean-ups continued today as authorities maintained a “no-swim” zone order at Nai Yang, Mai Khao, Nai Thon and Layan beaches in order to ensure the safety of swimmers. from the phuket news

its oil dumped out of a boat at sea> as now the winds are onshore it could be from as far away as India Not that unusual this time of year So far ( as of this morning) has NOT hit Kamala
-
there are and have been red flags on Kamala beach since end of May< Everyone ignores them> even the lifeguards dont seem to enforce them as they are to busy on their phones or teaching surfing to the customers people, surfers, swimmers, even kids are in the water every day> IF the lifeguards used Yellow flags and the yellow/red flags things might be different and people would NOT go in the water when the red flag is out but>>>>>>

zzzzz replied to FaltuMora's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
YES: once you have brought the car, bike, flat tv you can very easily live on $3,500 /month I've been here since the mid 80's, seldom do i spend more than $3,000/month ( an when i did it was cause my daughter was in International school) now its under $1,500 for 2 of us LOL: You will live alot longer and have a better. happier life smoking weed ( look at Willie Nelson) vs being an alcoholic!!! Get the number of a few girls that will visit ya at home for 2,000 baht/time and you will do fine -
