  1. Judge Jackson asked the best question at the SC Hearing.... If the most powerful position on Earth comes with total immunity, what is preventing the Presidency from becoming the seat of organized crime...(or something to that effect). 44 President's before trump did not have total immunity, but most did just fine running the country without it. Certainly there is absolutely no mention of Presidential immunity in the Constitution, in fact, quite the opposite. The Founders could have chosen the wording of the Magna Carta, where monarchs are above the law, but did not. Why, after 250 years, does a lowlife like trump suddenly need it? (The answer is obvious: he's a career criminal and wants to be a dictator.) If this SC decides total immunity is a thing, expect the range of Presidential candidates to expand into the likes of John Gotti and Al Capone. Why not? A President could shake down a rich Middle Eastern nation for cash, such as "Give me $10 billion or I'll order a nuclear strike." Total immunity. Frankly, the best way to deal with this silly Supreme Court, if they rule "immunity", is to have Biden order the assassination of Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Barrett and maybe Roberts.
  2. Lots of shaky ground here, and I'm not talking about trump's courtroom flatulence. The fever swamps of right wing media were apoplectic that trump wasn't going to be able to attend his 'dear' son's high school graduation, when in fact the judge had never denied trump that privilege, and yesterday announced an off day on 17 May so that trump can HAS TO attend the graduation (it would sure look bad, albeit typically trumpian, if he was excused from court and went to play golf instead). The irony of their lie was lost on the right wing talking heads, since there wouldn't be any trial if trump actually gave a sh!t about his kid or his wife, since all of this springs from his (alleged) tryst with Stormy and year long affair with Karen McDougal just after trump's 3rd wife gave birth. Yea, a real family man and devoted daddy, that Philanderer-in-Chief.
  3. The topic is their protest and the violence in which they are engaging. I seriously doubt many have much of an understanding of the Middle East issue, and I do not think their primary concern is for the innocent Gaza residents being killed. It's more...did you see my latest TikTok or Facebook post? Neither do I think harassing other students simply because they are Jewish is an effective means of protest. It is simply racism, nothing less. Peaceful protests are fine. Smashing windows, taking over buildings, and harassing Jewish students in not fine. Engaging in violence neither solves anything nor wins any hearts and minds. Protests are not going to stop the carnage in Gaza, nor will it get any hostages released, nor will it solve the issue of Hamas terrorism. Hamas leaders live a life of luxury in Doha (and were supported by Netanyahu, because 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend---the 'enemy' being a Two State Solution) the Hamas terrorist who carried out 7 October are proud of their rapes and murders, Netanyahu is not going to stop West Bank settlement building...so the violence in the protests is achieving what (other than having classes go online and likely final exams postponed)? No, I'm not Jewish. Yes, I lived in Israel. Yes, I lived in several Middle East nations. I speak, read and write Arabic. I know the issue (from study and living) going back to the early days of Zionism, through Deir Yassin, through the '67 war, the '73 war, Camp David, the Oslo Accords, all the way through to today. I'm not a fan of the hardliners on any side.
  4. Legitimate protest is fine, so long as they do not block access to those going about their business. Attacking other students simply because the students are Jewish is unacceptable. Doing any damage or taking over buildings is criminal, and they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, just as the 6 January criminals were. Expel them from the university to teach everybody a lesson, and jail if the statutes call for it. No exceptions, no excuses. I'm an old school liberal. What they are doing is neither liberal nor progressive. It might be a fad, but it is most definitely criminal.
  5. So little, eh? What you are saying (continually) is you have zero excuse for what trump did. Never. Oh, and obviously YOU read what I post. Are you a "nobody"? For once I might have to agree with you there. Just another cult member, unable to answer anything about trump's behavior nor his "policies". Oh, and the word you wanted was "drivel". Didn't teach you that at your 'accredited university', eh?
  6. Since it seems to have escaped many of us, what is there to like about trump? Educate us. Since trump became the reason d'etre of this website, I haven't seen anybody elucidate trump's "policies" to explain why anyone should support him. Four word slogans don't amount to anything, and except for the biggest losers in life, "owning the libs" is no reason to like him. I have my own beliefs about why he has his cult, and have mentioned them in the past, but won't repeat here. Some of us take exception to a guy who CLEARLY (except to his cult sycophants) tried to overthrow 250 years of American Democracy. There is absolutely no other explanation for his calling his goobers to DC for 6 Jan 21, nor holding the Mall rally and telling them to 'march to the Capitol' and 'fight like hell'. Those are undeniable facts: he did those things. If anyone tried to argue "How could trump have known it would turn violent?", then that is an admission that trump is an idiot. Of course he know; it was his intent (to be argued in court). Still to be determined---if it ever makes it to court and gets through trump's delay tactics---is why he was (allegedly) intimately involved in the Fake Elector Scheme, and why he stole highly classified documents and then lied about returning them. Also, why did he try to play John Gotti and pressure the GA SecState to "just find me...11,780 votes"? Oh, and why did the first 44 Presidents do just fine, and were never hampered by any lack of immunity, but suddenly trump tries to argue Presidents would have their hands tied unless they could kill political opponents and critics? To his goobers, they can excuse all of that for reasons having to do with their own brain addled belief system and the need to live vicariously through trump, but rational people and real patriots cannot accept the damage he has done to the USA.
  7. Interesting FX moves recently, though the baht and yen are falling for different reasons. The baht is a victim of higher US interest rates and a rather moribund Thai economy that is suffering from a worldwide slowdown in general and a Chinese slowdown in particular. The yen is a canary in the coal mine to anyone---especially expats retired in Thailand---who think they are going to live off a government pension. Japan has an aging population and a woefully underfunded pension system to go along with the highest debt-to-GDP of any major nation (at 260%). As the population becomes an inverted pyramid and debt service takes a larger bite of tax revenues, the only solution is to print. Massive printing means a falling currency and inflation for holders of that currency. The yen hasn't been this low against the USD since the late 1980s/early 1990s. A second choice debt-strapped govts have is to renege on the promises of pensions. It isn't as if any pensioner paid anywhere near as much into the system as they expect to receive; pensions have always been a Ponzi Scheme, which worked when the population was growing and there were more young workers entering the system than old folks leaving it. If I was 20 years old and just beginning my adult working life, I would forget pensions exist and plan my own future by saving. If I was a retired pensioner living off the govt pension, I might hope I age and die quickly, because the day of reckoning is coming. I cannot see the govt of any major nation being able to afford their pension and health commitments, unless they join the race to the bottom in terms of the value of their currency.
  8. Speaking of fathers....need say no more than don, jr and eric. The very definition of miscreants and influence peddlers, who spent the years their daddy played POTUS trying to sell his name to projects in India and the Middle East. That influence peddling cost the US Taxpayer, too, as the two children adult kids took Secret Service protection with them when they traveled. (Whatever absurdities Hunter engaged in, he is a private citizen and will always remain so. He didn't get spanked on his bottom by a porn star with a magazine having him on its cover, and then (allegedly) pay off the pornstar and illegally book the payments as 'business expenses'. Neither did he get 37 trademarks approved by China while serving as a Senior Adviser to the President of the United States---a person with a background as a handbag designer like Ivanaka---nor did he negotiate a $1.2 billion loan on a failing NYC property with a government under sanctions by the US---Qatar---while serving as another Senior Adviser to the President like jared did, with the sanctions against Qatar 'coincidentally' lifted within days of the receipt of the loan.) What Hunter has going for him is that he had the guts to stand up to the whackadoodle Freedumb Cockups in the House. They tried to hold him in contempt for refusing to come to a closed door Hearing, but he showed up in the public Hearing where they tried to hold him in contempt. The whackadoodles wanted to be able to control the narrative by only doing a closed door Hearing, but Hunter insisted it be public. The House Repubs could not risk their witchhunt being live on C-Span, and likely picked up by main stream media, because then control of the narrative would have been lost. The R House then went to Plan B, which was to impeach President Biden. That failed when their 'witnesses' turned out to be liars and wanted criminals, one even wanted by Mossad for trying to broker arms deals to the mullahs in Iran. None of the allegations against President Biden held up to scrutiny, so House R turned to Plan C, which was to impeach the Homeland Security Chief, but that failed, too. Now the whackadoodles are on Plan D, which is to go after one of their own (Speaker Johnson), because he dared to legislate, forgetting that House Repubs are only Performance Actors.
  9. While this is far from the most significant of trump's many trials, I think he loses (absent a trumper being on the jury and making it hung). I'd put it at 90% he's convicted of the felony charges. Plenty of folks have argued that making his (alleged) crime a felony is not that strong, but I think it gets made. The jury is made up of humans, and they are influenced by the overall picture of trump. His defense has denied both affairs, with Stormy and McDougal. Stormy's might have been a comedic one-time tryst, but McDougal had an almost year long affair, and was chauffeured to the hotels by trump's bodyguard, who will be called to the stand. Few will believe he drove her dozens and dozens of times to trump's hotel merely to share a room service meal and chat. Both women will likely be asked about trump's junk, which will match, as well as make him look small. On top of that, the transcript of the Access Hollywood tape is being entered into evidence, and he doesn't come across as likeable in that. It is extremely unlikely the jury will believe trump's denials of both affairs, which will lose him all credibility as well as sympathy. Though it should not be connected, the negative view the jurors will build of trump makes it all the more likely they will accept the prosecution's argument of "felony", rather than misdemeanor. The women on the jury (5) will be easiest to influence, because both alleged affairs happened while trump's 3rd wife was recovering from childbirth. It would have been smarter for trump to take the hit to his lack of character and just admit the affairs, because when he denies while the jury believes Stormy and McDougal, the jury will turn against him.
  10. You know trumpers. He could say "up" and "down" and his goobers would believe both. It's like the stolen documents case....the FBI planted what trump declassified with his mind and had every right to take to his country club/wedding planner facility.
  11. Cut him a little slack. He comes from a place where the sun set long ago, and where people are extra super special simply by being born. When such a low bar makes someone an object of adoration, can anyone expect anything less than hysterical from the ruled sycophants?
  12. What did trump 'try to do', other than enrich himself? When did Biden lie? This ought to be funny.
  13. More proof---as if you needed any---that trumpers are willfully ignorant. It's 2024. Most people know how to search. Most people, however, are not trumpers. trumpers only know what their messiah or Fox tells them. They lack the intellect to have an original, coherent thought. If the troll reads this, he can find the indictment by following this LINK. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/04/24/arizona-fake-electors-indictment-read-the-document/73447956007/ I suspect trumpers will be challenged by the document, as it isn't a 3 or 4 word slogan, which is about the limit of what they can comprehend. I suspect that you, like me, went through a lot of life kind of forgetting there was a left of the mean on the IQ Bell Curve. It took the rise of trump to remind us they're out there, godbless'em. Not everybody wins the Birth Lottery.
  14. I know the guy is a grifter, and already went too far with his Golden Sneakers, autographed Bible and threads from his Georgia arrest jacket, but this might finally be too much:
  15. You have to understand that trumpers are losers. He appeals to them because he gives them an excuse for why they have been failures in life. He gives them “others” to blame, so like trump himself, they never have to accept personal responsibility. Weak people clamp on to stuff like that. If they didn't have the false hope trump gives them, they would have no hope at all. In fact, there are three types of trumpers: ---greedy billionaires who want more tax cuts ---people too ignorant to understand rule of law or the founding principles of the US ---losers who live vicariously through trump Ask a trumper if he even knows any trump policy, other than a stupid slogan or a wall that Mexico will pay for (sic). They don’t know his policies, because he has none other than playing king and grifting off his position. For a trumper, thinking they “own the libs” is good enough, and considering the miserable and banal existence most have led, I guess such a minor thrill is about as much as they can ever dream of getting. With Biden, his policies are clear. For example: ---rebuild infrastructure (The bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is already improving roads, bridges airports, commo and internet) ---get chip-making back in the US (the Chips Act has already resulted in new plants being built) ---support Ukraine against the Russian invasion ---cut prescription drug costs (much already achieved) ---forgive student loans (this one I don’t agree with, but it is a clear policy) Whether Biden deserves credit or not for the good things that have happened since he relieved the last guy, it’s tough to say. The fact is, however, UE has fallen, growth dwarfs what happened under trump, more jobs have been created than under any POTUS, and the murder rate has tumbled. Biden has had to deal with rising interest rates both due to growth and because of the inflation caused by trump’s wild profligacy (new trump era debt of $8,400,000,000,000). Biden has to suffer the addition to the deficit caused by trump’s profligacy, as each 1% upward shift in the Yield Curve adds $84 billion per year to the deficit. As rates have had to be pushed up 300 pips or more across the Yield Curve to stem trump-generated inflation, that’s about $250 billion per year in new deficits.
  16. Read through the piece twice. I came away thinking it's about as shaky as 1000cc's of silicon nom on a Vegas showgirl. It's merely a feel good piece for those who think trump is their messiah and totally immune form any form of accountability. The whole case is funny in one sense, as it is likely the one case trump is facing where he will suffer the most in terms of his fragile ego. I think he would be proud to be considered a dictator, a coup plotter, the instigator of the terrorist attack on the US Capitol, part of the fake elector scheme, or the guy who felt John Gotti-ish as he tried to scare GA SecState Raffensperger into finding him 11,780 votes. He would wear all of those with pride and even try to grift off of them with his goobers. I think he might be slightly upset that he couldn't keep---and monetize---all the classified documents he stole. The one case he could not delay until after the election, however, is the one that will shatter his fragile ego more than anything else, because in the trial there will be public talk of the extremely economical size and mushroom-like appearance of his junk. Of course I wouldn't put it past him even to try to grift off Stormy's upcoming testimony, as in "Help out your favorite President---me---by sending $5, $10, $25 so that I can have a penile extension operation...Let ME be your tip of the spear!"
  17. All you have is willful ignorance. If you took the time to study the various cases, you would learn a few things: -Investigations take time -trump's tactics have been delay delay delay You are terribly confused. You think the charges and cases are happening now because the Dems wanted it in the election cycle, when the reality is trump's tactic of delay is so the trials are pushed as far into the future as possible in the hope he wins re-election and can pardon himself. SC Smith, once appointed specifically had only one person indicted (trump) for the various attempts to overthrow the election. Smith also asked the SC to rule last December on immunity, so the trial could do away with that excuse and get started. The SC refused to hear it, allowing trump to slow walk it through the District Court, and when he lost that, ask the SC to take it on. "Surprisingly", the SC decided to take it on now, and also pushed it back until the final day of their current session. Clearly they are aiding trump's delay tactic, as the District Court ruling was quite clear that immunity is totally against the Constitution. The US is not a monarchy where royalty is above the law. Many State officials thought the fake elector and election subversion would all be handled at the Federal level, so not until Smith surprised them by indicting only trump, did they begin their own investigations into the fraud, such as AZ just announced this week. Again, investigations take time, so it is only now AZ indicted the fake electors and those who promoted it. All of those bad actors now face State charges, although SC Smith could later amend his indictment of trump to include them, since he has already been slowed by trump's defenses and the SUpreme Court lackeys. One wonders why a non-American would be so enamored of trump. Do you like his excuses for losers, so that those who failed in life need not ever accept personal responsibility? That is what works so well for him in the US, but it comes as a bit of a surprise that the cult attracts people internationally, too. I guess losers everywhere need excuses.
  18. Not so surprising that the clown trump, who had peaceful protesters violently removed from Lafayette Park just so he could go hold a Bible upside down for a photo op, would have done absolutely nothing when extremely violent protesters attacked the US Capitol at his urging, injured 140 police officers, and set up a gallows to hang trump's own Vice President.
  19. I guess you like Trailer Trash trump because he wants to be like royalty, but royalty is not a US thing. We don't want to be a loser country with inbreds like yours. It that photo one of your country's royal family?
  20. The fake electors are such bozos they actually filmed the meeting where they signed fake certification letters, which they subsequently sent to Congress and the National Archives. They did the deed in Dec 2020. One of the indicted members of trump's staff, who was involved in the fake production, is named Cristina Bobb. To give an example of 'you can't make this stuff up', Ms Bobb was just appointed chief of the Election Integrity Committee of the Republican National Committee. trumpers...LOL
  21. Wow, have you bought the fantasy hype! North Korea was far from under control; Kim Jong-un hoodwinked trump because Kim is infinitely more clever and knew trump's weak spot: fragile ego. Kim stroked trump, and because of that the DPRK went hog wild on its nuke program. Under previous Admins, both Dem and Repub, the Kims had to wade carefully and furtively, so as not to get hammered by the US. Under trump, the DPRK massively increased its U235 enrichment, miniaturized its nukes, greatly increased the range of its Hwasong ICBMs, so that some can now reach every point in the US, and went to supercomputer testing of its nukes, just as the US does. trump was the best thing ever for the DPRK's nuke program. Russia was not in any way 'under control' by trump. That is laughable. putin spent the trump years gearing up for his Ukraine invasion. The reason putin didn't invade sooner wasn't due to any fear of trump (LOL), but rather because he didn't want to hurt trump's re-election chances. Had trump won term 2, putin would have invaded then, as trump's utility would be limited by the Two Term rule. Just absolutely silly what is attributed to trump. trump wanted to nuke hurricanes. He wanted to attack Iran in 2020, hoping it would help him win re-election. After he lost, he wanted to nuke China in the hope he could declare a national emergency and stay in power, but Gen Milley stopped that (and trump was so upset he wanted to execute Gen Milley). This has been covered in many news reports, so I'm not in any way speaking out of school. The entire planet owes a debt of gratitude to Gen Milley and Mike Esper. If I am kind, I can attribute such posts to lack of knowledge, though in unguarded moments I see it as simple idiocy.
  22. He's not even an American, but obsessed with defending trump. THAT is what a cult does to people. Nobody internationally cared about Reagan or Bushs I & II or Obama or Clinton enough to become fawning sycophants. Only trump, for reasons I am incapable of understanding, anymore than I am capable of understanding the "charisma" of the fascist leaders of the 1940s. I guess it's just a way for losers to live vicariously and absolve themselves of any personal responsibility for why their life turned out as it did. Autocrats and fascists provide excuses and "others" to blame. That's what trump does.
  23. Okay Stalkerboy... As expected, you cannot answer any of the questions I posed. Only repeat the prayers of the cult to which you belong, like "weaponization", "political persecution", UNFAIR!, and Whatabout(insert here)ism. Thank for you offer to write to BB, but no need. Never terminated. Here's some 'inside baseball'.....the agency, in initial screening, gives a IQ test under strict control, and has a cutoff for being selected for case officer training, where additional culling takes place. Two I know who failed the IQ part were Tucker Carlson and Bill Barr. Barr was close, so as a consolation prize he was given an analyst job, which he held for a few years before moving into law. I have been told he has always resented the agency for not making him a real spook. Despite a workforce of tens of thousands, there are only a few hundred real spooks. The agency survives because there are enough actual patriots who know trump is a threat to everything the US is based upon, as most case officers have seen something similar during overseas' tours. Gina Haspel did a great job of placating trump and giving him only what was absolutely necessary. She knew he was an idiot, so she made the PDB as much about him as possible and included lots of pictures, because trump couldn't read two sentences. So did Coats until trump fired him and replaced him with lackeys. CIA legal prevented trump from unleashing the agency's collection capabilities against trump's domestic critics, as trump wanted to do. Gens Kelly, Mattis and Milley also did their part to keep the country safe despite trump. Call this my opinion, because there is no LINK, but at least two times Cabinet members met to discuss invoking the 25th Amendment, but instead decided to just get in the way of the crazed things trump wanted to do to stay in power. We can thank Gen Milley in particular that the Earth still exists. Yes, THAT bad...but continue to think trump is your messiah. Here's some more fun for you...many folks wonder what putin has on trump. It isn't the pp tape. That's low brow comedy. Go find the video of trump and putin in Helsinki, when they walked straight from a meeting to the podium for a Q&A. trump is ashen faced and scared sh!tless. putin has a Cheshire Cat grin. Wonder why?
  24. I wonder what world you live in. It must be Mr Roger's Neighborhood, albeit with Happy Weed. The terrorists beat cops with flags. They sprayed cops with bear spray. They smashed windows, broke doors, sh!t on the floor and wiped their feces on the walls, poked one cops eye out, taser'd another....and erected gallows. But in your smoke-filled dream world, they were just joking. Just typical tourists, eh? You're lucky you've never seen crazed fanatics engage in wanton violence, or had to survive it. Take another toke and pretend......
