  1. yes. I made communication a priority in my first few years here.
  2. No, I don't think so, though admittedly, memories are hazy. Chi is for sure the shortest lived. It only opened a few random nights after its grand opening.
  3. i prefer to fend for myself rather than depend on someone else for such basic interactions
  4. no, that is not the issue. nor is it the fact that they show the price of the cheapest item (ie a set of headphones costing 3000 baht with the listing also showing a 300 baht carrying case -- the listing will show 300 baht). It is with single items.
  5. I do agree there. I have been finding shoppee cheaper for some higher cost items lately though, especially cycling gear. What i have noticed with Lazada lately is that on some items it shows a price in the search preview, but when you click through its a few hundred baht more. That annoys me no end
  6. because I can never be certain where I will be when the stuff is delivered and I don't want to faff about. For example, I was taking a dump this am when I heard the phone ring to alert me the delivery was coming. I continued with my business and when I came downstairs the item was waiting in my mailbox. if it had been COD I would have received a failure to deliver notice and the guy would have had to come back over the next couple days.
  7. They don't double the bloody order, you somehow manage to double select goods. Given the difficulties you have experienced, ain't no one involved in this transaction that is crafty
  8. Well done, are you aware of what metaphor means?
  9. Jesus I just remembered The Tunnel on langsuan, or was it wittayu. That place was short lived but epic as well. Alot of the visiting djs would do the after parties there. There was also chi, bed moved and painted gold, but I don't think that opened for more than 2 or three nights. Sure wish I could remember the name of the cabaret as well.
  10. I agree. There was excitement around the house music scene in the 2000s. So many talented djs both working locally and passing through.
  11. And a Mexican place on or near Khao San, I never went. Now you mention it remember bash. Guy was busy for someone off his tits every night
  12. I'm telling you, he opened a burlesque/cabaret show in what is now Hillary on that corner. I actually met him there while he was building it and went to the opening. As I said, slutty dancing nuns. I did not know sugar was his doing as well.
  13. It did burlesque/cabaret dance numbers it was mad. I remember slutty nuns. can't remember the name tho. After that it became Marshmallow, now Hillary
  14. Just stop with the stupid envelope <deleted>, come up with something original to say.
  15. Jesus, Lucifer forgot that. Kings Lounge and Kings Corner and Hollywood mean nothing to me. Funky Dojo fronted onto one of the cross streets between main Patpong sois, it was another of Daryls ventures I believe. It was great to listen to excellent house and people watch.
  16. I believe it was on the roof. Of course it was, but the school on the university grounds just the other side of the wall sealed the deal.
  17. i loved daryl. in the run up to mystique on Buddhist no booze holidays he had these massive parties in I's penthouse, first to take all of our photos and then give us our mystique VIP cards, Shame they built it on the other side of the wall less than the requisite 500 meters (or whatever) from the university's demonstration primary school,.
  18. neigh huh, are they riding ponies?
  19. Jesus, there used to be Swing on Petburi somewhere, then Bossy, Spicy. Back in the day Sin on Nana, a <deleted> ton of place in the building at the mouth of Soi 1. I remember a cop gave me his gun in some place on Petburi at about 4 am. Drugs were involved Back early early days (96ish) there was Silom Soi 4 with Deeper, (later DP 2000) the first real techno club in town, closed due to overdose and the space never reopened. Tapas was also on SoI 4. Then later on there was funky dojo on Patpong. I have forgotten way more than I remember I suspect.
  20. Do you keep money in the bank and withdraw from an ATM? They already have the potential to control your cash and movement, unless you have a chunk of change under the bed.
  21. agreed, Bed was good for that too. I remember Laurent Garnier playing the club side then doing a late night after hours in the other.
  22. it started as a New york lounge style bar. The opening went off so hard they immediately upgraded the sound system and didn't look back. I was neighbors with a bunch of the staff a block away, and knew all the local DJs so it wasn't expensive at all. Also they booked in some very very good international DJs.
  23. More often i left with Thermae Chicken in a Basket. Fok did that hit the spot.
  24. ah current thermae you went down the stairs but came up the stairs at the back through nd outdoor kitchen breezeway area to get to the toilets
  25. It wasnt as far into the soi as the president park, it was much nearer the mouth. Drugs a plenty, you are correct.
