  1. Will you volunteer to help pay his medical bills?
  2. Your reply reminds me of years ago when an Australian man engaged in road rage by getting a machete out of his car's boot and threatening the Thai driver in front of him. Afte rthe police showed up and the Aussie was talking to the cop, the Thai man came up along side him and cold cocked the life out of the elderly Australian man. Never saw a follow up to the story but for sure that punch had to hurt if not do permanent damage.
  3. As long as facilities can handle the increase in tourists, I see no reason why anyone should oppose the new visa rules.
  4. I misread a bit but point still stands. India has plenty of cobras to go round for everyone.
  5. Thailand has plenty of cobras. For the life of me, I wonder why anyone would try to smuggle one into the country.
  6. Seems pretty foolish on the part of the manage to deny your simple request and cut off a revenue stream for the condo complex.
  7. Did you find anything negative to say about the place? Traffic delays due to construction are essential in order to improve things for the future. No one likes them but they're a part of life. Thank goodness no one is forced to remain in Pattaya or Thailand for that matter unless they're remanded to do so by a court of law.
  8. Thee is a funeral parlor in Bangkok that offers cremation with a full service from a Catholic priest. It's very close to the Riverside Hotel.
  9. Yes the article is very misleading. Expats can't simply decide to retire in most if not all of the countries listed. A quote from a commenter on the article says it best: " "Sardonicus - I had a feeling people might misinterpret this list. I didn't read the article but, I'm SURE it's not implying that it's a list of where people should consider moving. NO, NO.....most of those countries either wouldn't let you live there ongoing or there is some stiff criteria to meet. The list is describing what retirement years are like for those that live there."
  10. Why on earth would you propose such a thing? Hawkers are a firm part of the Thai culture.
  11. Seems common in Thailand for products to just vanish without explanation.
  12. Isn't there always someone waiting in the wings to replace whoever is offed?
  13. Eight years ago my GF had three implants done in a government clinic @ 40K THB each, totaling 120K THB. Never once a problem with any of them since day one. No way was I gong to go the cheaper bridge route and sacrifice the two adjacent healthy teeth to replace a bad one. Six years ago at a very modern clinic in Issan I was quoted 9K Baht for a root canal. The dentist said it would take three visits but to my pleasant surprise at the end of the second visit he said was finished with the procedure. I should add the procedure was 100% painless. Added to that surprise, the final cost was 7K instead of 9K THB originally quoted.
  14. That would depend a lot on how far you have to slide. Also the OP doesn't mention if his friend will have any kind of income rentals, dividends or interest from banks and etc. He mentions the SS system and free government hospitals. Where would that be?
  15. Thanks, I'll give that a try on the phone to ask but I usually find most Brit orientated stores don't carry much from the USA. Anyone know anything about the Tops at Central? Do they possibly carry either one of the products?
  16. Isn't insurance on Thai bank accounts still limited to one million THB per bank?
  17. Would that really be such a bad thing?
  18. I haven't tried Tops yet since the location next to Bed and bath was demolished but I've been to all the other Falang stores I know in Pattaya. (Friendship, Villa, Food Mart, Foodland) Macro used to have a large stock of the tomato soup and I was confident I'd find it there when I shopped Macro today. While the Campbell soup was in the same place I remember it being a few years ago there was nary a can of tomato soup to be found.
  19. I know availability of products in Thailand comes and goes but if anyone knows where I can buy either of these soups, I appreciate it. Amazon.com - Campbell's, Condensed Cream of Potato Soup, 10.75oz Can (Pack of 6) - Vegetable Soups - Grocery & Gourmet Food.weblocCampbell's Condensed Tomato Soup - Shop Soups & Chili at H-E-B.webloc
  20. The problem is since the sidewalks aren't always safe, looking up for dangerous low hanging signs can be unsafe.
  21. How many coins did you get after you sold your house and bought coins?
  22. I'm happy the judge decided on some transparency. Axios provided a copy of the released documents in a PDF form. (long but searchable) https://www.axios.com/2024/01/05/epstein-documents-pdf-court-releases-second-set-read In the past my searching for Epstein speaking produced very little results. I only found a short deposition where he walked out after he was asked a question about his penis.
  23. You'll make the first responders very happy.
  24. That's a great idea, Tug. Those Dumpster followers of DONALD DUMP; should show their support for DUMP with money and not worthless words. Mr. DUMP desperately needs money and if you don't believe that just ask him. He'd never lie about such a thing, would he now?
