  1. One of the biggest farms in Thailand owned by a close relative no doubt... ????
  2. The Thais have already stated they are not buying the weapons systems for these planes. The whole thing is quite farcical really.
  3. If he is a criminal why is he not under arrest and still free to travel where he wishes outside of Thailand? ????
  4. Can't drive even when attempting to get away from Police. Muppets. ????
  5. All businesses like this have them on the payroll in one way or another. You can be sure negotiations are ongoing behind the scenes to protect certain people. From another article but relevant here: Ronnarong Kaewpetch, the President of the Network of Campaigning for Justice (NCJ), led the families of 13 victims to the Crime Suppression Division this afternoon, August 15th, to call for the Division to be responsible for the venue investigation instead of the local police, reasoning that they were afraid of influential people in the area and thought that the police and local government may have conflicts of interest. The NCJ president brought some evidence to the division officials and demanded them to investigate three concerning issues, including whether there were government officials and/or influential people involved in the entertainment venue that could have some interests or whether the alleged owner, Sia B, who was currently prosecuted was the true owner of the establishment. https://tpnnational.com/2022/08/15/families-and-relatives-of-mountain-b-victims-urge-crime-suppression-division-to-take-charge-of-venue-investigation-to-prevent-dishonesty/ The lesson is to never, ever trust these people.
  6. The debt continues to mount up for this boondoggle. Must be 500 billion thb in debt now surely?
  7. What have cannabis dispensaries got to do with nightclubs or the Mountain B fire? Nothing, that's what.
  8. Thais are experts here right enough.
  9. 500thb and a wai. Oh sorry, just saw he's a foreigner. 10 years in prison and a hefty fine.
  10. I remember going to Amsterdam when I was 17 years old and I didn't care about the prices back then and I was on a very limited budget. We wanted to try all the best stuff which at the time was skunk, NL, big bud, super skunk etc. I expect that is going to be the case here for many visitors, price will not deter those wanting to sample the best strains. Also, as you compare to alcohol, there are many bars / restaurants selling craft beer here in Chonburi / Pattaya for upwards of 200thb a bottle, to mostly local customers. There's always a demand for premium products in a free market economy.
  11. Correct. If you want the best you will have to pay a premium for it, which is true anywhere.
  12. Probably never on the table but even if it was, the Thais aren't purchasing or getting the advanced weapons systems.
  13. Don't forget the Police ripping off the tsunami relief fund. ????
  14. Locally trained no doubt. Lifting safety is woeful here. I have caught workers at my company using cranes and hoists improperly, once I caught them using a truck crane to change a light fixture... the guy was standing on the boom which was extended to reach the light 10 meters above the ground! No harness or anything... Will lessons be learned from this incident and preventative actions implemented? No chance. RIP to the deceased.
  15. Why are they still one of the biggest plastic polluters of the World's oceans? Why is the atmosphere hazardous to humans in certain areas during certain periods of the year? Why are there no checks on heavily polluting diesel vehicles? Etc. ????
  16. That overpass is an incident hotspot, just outside the Harbor Mall in Laem Chabang, there are regular accidents and fatalities there.
  17. Again, they think they can do what they want without consequence. In this case they have been rumbled but it took 16 deaths to make it so. Thousands of other illegal venues will continue to operate around the country with impunity. Money Number One.
  18. That's a big problem in Thailand, they think they know everything and cannot be told otherwise. As to government experts or inspectors... chocolate teapot, motorcycle ashtray etc.
  19. Completely believable. 12 hours in the temps here, body would have been stinkin'.
  20. Idiots. They need to go hard and mete out proper punishments so that motorists get the message and obey the law. Never will happen it is antithetical to the mai bpen rai culture here.
  21. Probably one of the most misinformed and ignorant things I have ever read on this forum. Congratulations.
  22. What percentage, if any, do the Police or local authorities get from that cheque?
