No. You missed the point. The foreign company can be a branch or a subsidiary of another company. Do you really believe that companies shown as from Samoa or the BVI are operating from there? Chinese companies have been using Singapore and Hong Kong to circumvent regulations in respect to foreign operations for 25+ years. it is not unusual for a company to have an Asia Pacific head office in Hong Kong, or Tokyo or Singapore and then set up branch or subsidiary operations in other countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines etc.
Many companies from all over the World have their head offices in HK and Singapore for banking and tax reasons. Nothing new there.

I suspect most of them will be Chinese. It is the easiest way to circumvent trade restrictions placed on China and indeed to the growing "Dont buy Chinese goods" which is taking hold in many countries.
You should read the article.
It breaks down the nationality of the companies of the 22 registered in June.

If they are evicted then who can they rent to anyways?
I have heard two anecdotal tales from friends that their Thai landlords have jacked up the rents to make up shortfalls.
One friend has already moved out of rented business and the other is in process of packing up and leaving his condo.
The sufferation has only just begun.
Wait until they wake up and realise that there's nobody coming for the next 6 to 19 months.
It's gonna be epic.

Hardly.
Just sick of her constant deflection posts and lack of condemnation of anything Thai.

Its well known that flights back to the UK /Europe have been continuous and didnt stop because of Corvid , some of us prefer to stay in Thailand, rather than to go home
If your visa or extension to stay has expired you will be given a notice to leave I would imagine, judging by the announcement from the immigration spokesman.
If you don't leave, you will be arrested and forcibly removed.
When it comes, don't say you weren't warned - you have had plenty time to plan.
Chok dee.

And importing monkeys to the United States has become increasingly difficult as almost all commercial air carriers now refuse to fly the animals. Yet according to the new USDA figures, scientists used 75,825 nonhuman primates for research last year, up 22% since 2015 and 6% since 2008
if I the monkey I prefer be the coconut monkey, than the medical torture monkey.
Again, stop banging on about it and stop buying UK or US pharmaceuticals.
Also, it's not a competition to see which country is worse. Deal with your own country's problems first.

Working in tourism, I can tell you first hand, that we have a bunch of requests for trips to Thailand from October onwards and with increasing numbers, over the coming months!
There is a potential- but if the Thai- government has no intend on AT LEAST signalling a possible opening from October onwards, this bubble will burst!
Mass tourism is finished for this year mate.

as a foreigner, you will always have zero rights, even if you live here for 50 years...
Stop moaning and get PR and citizenship if you want the same rights as a local.
Get a proper job, pay taxes for three years and apply. Stay a further five years and apply to become a Thai citizen.
If you are too old or too stupid to do it you're s*** outta luck.

Wrong. An Aussie CAN leave, and do, with a reasonable reason. Simple to fix.
Mate in Qld flying back to Cambodia soon, other friends returning to Hong Kong almost daily.
Hope he's got the required funds to get in to Cambo. Not cheap at the moment and costs could easily escalate if there's an infected person on your flight.

I think this is a case of the bird flying in ever decreasing circles until it flies you know where. The lockdowns are causing massive loss of incomes and ensuing poverty, the poor are then forced to resort to crime to make ends meet and feed their families, causing an increase in the number of police on the the prowl which will definitely cause an increase in public unrest and further downhill spiral. The ONLY solution to this problem is to hit the "Reset" button, in an effort to bring back as many tourists as possible. Let the money flow and allow nature to take it,s course ???? Chas. Darwin Jr.
Thailand is now COVID free, last thing we want is another outbreak caused by unregulated visitors that results in another lockdown, culminating in total disaster for the health system and the Thai economy.
The medicine is not nice but it has to be taken unfortunately.

For anyone that may be interested, as a passenger, I drove a Thai train to Kanchanaburi back in 2001.
I went to take a photo of the driver, he sat me down in his seat and let me drive the thing for about five minutes. There must have been 200 people on that train, maybe more.
I've got a non-digital photo of me looking very shocked sitting on the controls as this train hurtles along at 80km/h.

It's metre gauge on that stretch is it not?

Just reading latest on travel insurance ' it is highly unlikely that you will get travel insurance to cover against COVID19'
If that is true the world is still closed unless people are willing to take a risk. Definitely no entry to the Kingdom.
Thailand should be congratulated on the containment of the diseases.
Thailand is probably the safest place in the world right now so they have no reason to allow others into the Kingdom.
Spot on

I've lived there full time for over 25 years so don't consider myself a "wannabe" expat. Some of us had to leave for work overseas, so didn't have a choice to get back before the airports closed. Everyone's situation is different and not as black and white as some TV members think.
Of course you had a choice not to go to work.
It was obvious since the end of Feb that the borders might close and the Thai Centre for Disease Control issued regular updates.

It's all kicking off now on social media.
Don't think there's been so much hatred and disdain for a Thai administration or Thailand in general since I arrived here 31 years ago.
Tourism will never recover if they continue like this. Wholesale changes needed.

And the economy goes down the drain.... Many Thai people are left without income. ????
A bunch of confused retirees and returning offshore workers that married girls with dubious pasts and needy families are not going to save the Thai economy.
They would need to open up the borders completely and that is an enormous risk at the moment. An enormous risk.

While I agree with your premise, Thailand would be absolutely nowhere without foreign investment.
