Pickpockets theft of Norwegian-Thai couple was karma, say cops
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Why not? When I lived in Bangkok, I used the buses all the time. Often, a much better option than dealing with taxis and safer than motorbike taxis too. Never had any issues in over 25 years using them. -
Pattaya Mayor Eyes Opportunity in Casino-Entertainment Complex Project
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Final nail in the coffin if they legalise casinos imo. See: Sihanoukville. -
She was his caretaker. He was in a wheelchair. She was meant to check on him every day. He rotted in a room, body decomposing for three days. Don't keep making excuses for these people.

Pickpockets theft of Norwegian-Thai couple was karma, say cops
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It never ceases to amaze me the arrogant stupidity of the people here. Correct. To understand, we have to go back to the original role of the Thai Police, which was a bunch of hired thugs to protect the Chinese merchant class. Total reform needed.- 107 replies

Thaksin Shinawatra’s secretive meet-up sparks political uproar

They won't be able to fix any problems if they do not address the blatant corruption, cronyism and nepotism first. Otherwise, the cycle of coups will continue. -

Extortion by Ministry of Agriculture task force exposed by senator
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He sat on the right-hand side of the PM when he visited Chiang Mai, with Thaksin on the other side. A clear signal to all the rivals who is back in full control now. Mafia run this country, make no mistake about it. -

Moral of the story? Don't rely on Thais to help you even in your utmost time of need. Maybe.

Thaksin warmly welcomed at Pheu Thai party headquarters
Mr Meeseeks replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
He was never ill. All a charade for the hard of thinking. -
I knew him and drunk with him many times in Patpong and Soi Cowboy in the 90's and early 00's.

Not surprised you were at that dump. Did your tuk-tuk driving pal take you? 😆 They will need to get immigration sorted at the airport. Taking longer to process people is not an option for them. With their neighbours down south implementing auto-gates for foreigners, Thailand is again notably lagging behind.

The Thai sugar companies are run by big, powerful mafia families, and you don't take them head on. I remember back in the late 90's Kasit Thai Sugar executives assassinated Australian investigator Michael Wansley, when he uncovered financial malpractice. Sugar mill owner Pradit Siriviriyakul allegedly bribed Police $4m and said "it was good the foreigner is dead", yet he was acquitted by three judges. https://www.smh.com.au/world/thailand-reverses-death-sentences-for-two-men-who-murdered-australian-michael-wansley-20150225-13oy7r.html
