  1. Cannabis is no longer on the narcotics list so not illegal. Besides, loads of drugs are available all over the place, nicotine, caffeine, alcohol etc. Correct.
  2. He used to pimp young Thai women in his soapy massage parlours, I wouldn't want any young schoolgirls anywhere near him!
  3. They need to limit the top speed of these pickup derivative SUVs (and pickups too for that manner).
  4. If they put it back on the narcotics list it will mean it will be illegal to possess, consume, grow or distribute it again. A massive step backwards from where we have got to so far imo. Can see it happening though, they are never any good at managing things properly here.
  5. I drove that road yesterday. Very dangerous. Loads of idiots driving way too fast for the conditions, tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic etc., just to be in front. Not only foreigners, a Thai in a pickup and a minivan were the worst culprits from what I experienced.
  6. I arrived at the airport when the Yellow Shirts first arrived. They were a young armed militia. I initially mistook them for security as they were erecting a roadblock. I parked my car and flew out on one of the last flights to Phnom Penh. Got stranded in PP for a few more days than I originally planned, but it was the best kept secret in Asia at the time so wasn't bothered. Funnily enough, I was in Phnom Penh years before when the coup happened, and watched in unfold on BBC in Heart of Darkness and Howie's next door.
  7. If Sondhi Limthongkul didn't get billions to pay off his debts and prop up his failing media business from KTB. Then Thaksin would never have had to remove the CEO Viroj and stop the bank haemorrhaging money. Then Sondhi would have had no vendetta against his old friend Thaksin. Then Sondhi would not have used his media empire to start a revolt to force a coup to remove an elected government. Then the Yellow Shirts would never have existed. Then the country would not have lost billions due to airport shutdowns and border conflicts with Cambodia. Then there would have been no judicial coup. Then there would have been no need for Red Shirts to begin with.
  8. All from Scottish cattle stock originally. The best beef I have ever had was in Scotland. Grass fed Aberdeen Angus.
  9. Funny, as everyone that has actually tried it, likes it. Including my many English friends.
  10. His restaurant is still called Tropical on Soi Khao Noi, opposite True Blue Aussie bar.
  11. Guys, you can post confused and laughing emoticons all you want, but I am a grower, and it is impossible to grow outdoors, where the brick weed is grown without some sort of pest control. Thai farmers use a lot of glyphosate on other crops which has been proven to cause cancers. Here is a study from the US about brick weed containing harmful chemicals. Paraquat was applicated to control the illicit grows in Mexico. Until recently, paraquat was widely used in crops in Thailand. https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/data-and-analysis/bulletin/bulletin_1978-01-01_4_page006.html I can assure you the Thai stuff will not be organic, so I suggest be mindful of what you are consuming.
  12. It was obvious that they were not just going to accept a loss from the start. Face has been lost with a resounding rejection of the military backed parties. They will now use anything and everything at their disposal to retain power, including another coup, if necessary and if the courts don't do their bidding.
  13. They are worse than the Australians in this regard.
  14. Being wealthy is some sort of justification for these crimes?
  15. Hard to discern who the criminals were in that photo if it were not captioned.
  16. The main problem I have with brick weed is the chemicals. They will absolutely be using dangerous pesticides like paraquat and similar on those plants. I would not be touching it.
  17. Those small scooters are not designed to be driven at high speeds.
