If coup makers can award themselves an amnesty against prosecution and threaten to send anyone to jail that disagrees with them, why should the opposition not think a Thaksin pardon may be possible? Each side appears to make it up as they go along. This is either going to be a landslide victory for Pheu Thai and the cycle of coups continues, or they fiddle the election results in favour of the current incumbents and people go out on the streets in protest. Either way there is going to be no end to the instability that started in 2005 after Thaksin stopped them all being given billions for free from KTB.

Not to worry, Immigration have redeemed themselves with the arrest of two elderly foreign overstayers in Bangkok only yesterday.

He managed 11 years of overstay so he outwitted and out-thought the entire Thai Immigration Police during that time, and was only caught because someone grassed him up.

Doesn't matter if they have money for a border bounce, they won't be allowed to do do 'visa runs' perennially, and their luck will run out eventually. Refused to enter at a land border will be a real possibility. The Halcyon days of visa running to stay in Thailand indefinitely are long gone.

It's about to get messy when all these extensions run out and the immigration computer starts flagging dozens, then hundreds, then possibly thousands of overstayers. A big loss of face coming, considering how strict they have been on overstay in the last few years! ????

How do they get Thai Baht from the crypto? All the Thai exchanges require longer term visas and/or work permits to use them as foreigners.
