  2. Interesting how the Cambodian has made headlines, but there are still hundreds, if not thousands of Thais owing large amounts of tollway fees. ????
  3. Driver was on his way to Sattahip. Sounds like he was on the lash all night and on his way to work.
  4. As I said, I have seen many Thais exhibit similar behaviour and mental illness is always the excuse from the media, relatives and friends. Perhaps they are just poorly educated, self-centred, ignorant wretches that lose control when they don't get their own way or face adversity. ????‍♂️ Maybe they are actually mentally ill, without a proper doctor's diagnosis, who knows.
  5. Massive face loss all over the place with this one. Careful Thailand, your slip is showing.
  6. A risk assessment would identify the preventative maintenance required for such equipment. Normally, it should be an FMEA (failure mode effects analysis) done by an engineer, detailing all the required inspection and maintenance in line with manufacturer's recommendations, international and national standards and guidelines etc. This forms part of the overall OHS risk assessment of the facility, in this case DM airport passenger terminal.
  7. Considering the vendor warned the boy not to sit on the wall, the collapse was expected. If only the boy had paid attention and obeyed the adult…
  8. I’ve seen many Thais exhibit this type of behaviour in my 33 years here. Are they all mentally ill? ????
  9. The photos are from the Mail in the UK.
  10. From the photos, it looks to me like the case wheels got jammed in between the moving section of the travellator and the guard, and she's followed it in with her foot. Very nasty indeed.
  11. The problem is there are no risk assessments performed, or if they are done, are not done properly or done by people that are not competent. Health and safety is not a concern here. Seen as a hindrance to profit by greedy bosses.
  12. How can the statistics from Thailand be trusted? For example, we know they don't count those that do not die at the scene, and we are reliant on what sources to properly report and log all traffic accidents? They don't even have professional ambulance services, just volunteers. Sorry, but you'll have to do a lot more than fag packet maths to convince me mate.
  13. Fleeing the scene after causing a fatality while drunk. Despicable creature.
  14. By demonising their poor driving, maybe they will be motivated to do something about it? Nonsense. You are making stuff up to suit your agenda. Commuting to work I see accidents on a very regular basis, I've even seen a hit-and-run happen as well as several fatalities (in the aftermath, fortunately not as they occurred). Never saw that back in the UK.
  15. Looks like one of those modified agricultural utility vehicles being driven as a sports car again.
  16. The great irony is of course that the 1997 constitution, the people's constitution as it was known, was the best one that they had. This was replaced after the coup in 2006. The latest constitution was so the NCPO could give themselves immunity for their treason and allow them to maintain control over the government regardless of the outcome of any election. We are seeing this being implemented now. Thailand has a long history of the Army implementing new constitutions after coups.
  17. Indeed. I was surprised by the amount of people that remained seated last time I was in the theatre to watch John Wick 4. Must have been 50% or more. Some Western tourists who probably didn't know better but a lot of Thais as well.
  18. That is no surprise. Too cowardly to meat out proper punishment (no pun intended).
  19. The system will flag if a person is blacklisted at any entry or exit point where the biometric systems are employed. That's exactly why it cost billions to implement. The only way in would be to use an entry point that is not using biometrics or fingerprints. Not sure if there are any left now. They also have facial recognition software and BMWs with facial recognition cameras on patrol so only a matter of time before you would be picked up even with fake ID.
  20. I've worked with the Thai government and PTT on major oil and gas projects and own a company that employs many more Thais than you would believe in various industries. Corruption is entrenched throughout the country and at the highest levels. We would not have got contracts without assistance from certain people. They wanted something for allowing us to operate, and they still get their cut. Many years ago, I worked for a well known company that used government connections to maintain a monopoly on their business, which is still going to this day I believe. The Thai modus operandi is preying on the weak to extort and bully. These people are the lowest on the food chain, so they are fair game for the bullies.
  21. Very difficult, or nearly impossible given biometrics and fingerprinting used now.
  22. It's controlled by them, not left alone.
  23. Why? Who else is going to sell their drugs for them?
