Not to worry, Immigration have redeemed themselves with the arrest of two elderly foreign overstayers in Bangkok only yesterday. -
He managed 11 years of overstay so he outwitted and out-thought the entire Thai Immigration Police during that time, and was only caught because someone grassed him up.

Indeed. Not that it matters, nor will it have any discernible effect, but I will never visit Phuket again while this rule is in action.

Doesn't matter if they have money for a border bounce, they won't be allowed to do do 'visa runs' perennially, and their luck will run out eventually. Refused to enter at a land border will be a real possibility. The Halcyon days of visa running to stay in Thailand indefinitely are long gone.

It's about to get messy when all these extensions run out and the immigration computer starts flagging dozens, then hundreds, then possibly thousands of overstayers. A big loss of face coming, considering how strict they have been on overstay in the last few years! ????

How do they get Thai Baht from the crypto? All the Thai exchanges require longer term visas and/or work permits to use them as foreigners.

This immediately came to mind when I read the headline.

Poor education. IQ around 80. Cannot handle alcohol consumption. Undiagnosed mental health issues. Unable to control emotions. No fear of punishment. Jealousy and envy. Easy access to weapons. History of violence and/or unbalanced behaviour. Etc.

This is just another of the very many reasons to avoid visiting Phuket.

It is no wonder the Thai public have no trust or faith in the Police, and advise not to go anywhere near them unless there is absolutely no alternative.

One of the worst, certainly in recent history. Forget rice pledging. Forget sending refugees back out to sea with no food or water. Forget the sanctioned war on drugs. Etc. This is killing their own people. A horribly inept and corrupt regime, that very few intelligent people wanted. Hopefully their time is at an end.

I've been all over Thailand and it appears very similar everywhere. Lao Khao, pick-up trucks, horrible music, soaking each other with water and silly shirts.
