  1. I think it is very positive. Tax, good right? Less aggressive drunks, good right? One can smoke weed without prosecution, good right? What do you have against 'a weed' lol?
  2. Why not ban booze, tobacco, sugar, junk food, porn, and all other things that are good and holy?
  3. Not sure the local community here agrees. They seem to think over 15 is fair game.
  4. I suppose they require to see 12 months of bank statements with this income already? Or the employment contract stating what will be earned?
  5. And is it just the regular documents required for a normal work extension? (i.e. school's docs, our contract, my passport copies, work permit, and teaching license, and my educational certs)? Nothing unusual or additional? Example from immigration website: In the case of study in a private educational institution: Criteria for Consideration: 1. The alien must have been granted a non-immigrant visa (NON-IM). 2. Said educational institution is permitted to operate by a relevant government agency. The alien must have been confirmed and requested by that particular educational institution. 3. The alien must have been confirmed and requested by that particular educational institution. 4. The alien must have been confirmed by the relevant government agency Documents to be submitted: 1. Application form 2. Copy of applicant’s passport 3. Copy of evidence of permission to establish the educational institution issued by the relevant government agency 4. Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay, issued by the educational institution 5. Confirmation letter issued by a government agency
  6. Can I change my extension from one based on family to one based on work? Without leaving country to start a new visa? I did this before (from work to family) without leaving country, but I dunno if they just let me do this cos the country was locked due to covid. But now I would like to switch back to an extension based on work. Is it possible?
  7. Would be interesting to find past papers to study. I might have a look
  8. Its totally nuts. So they are saying the only option for those Chinese teachers is to get a license in their home country first, despite meeting the Thai requirements? What is the point in making us get Dip Ed or degrees in education and THEN make us to a test? Seems like the test should be for people without education diploma or degree.
  9. This would be interesting though find out
  10. Don't usually drink instand, but when I do: Nescafe Gold Crema.
  11. So, apparently there is a test graduates after 2020 must take for their teaching license. Anyone have any info on that, like how to enroll? how many times a year they do it? Where to find past papers? We can post the info here; I will be getting my school to call for info and I will post here
  12. Thanks for correcting my grammar. Starting to see why your wife enjoys your company so much.
  13. Yep, it's been that way since the discovery of fire (probably longer). Yet some guys on here think their missus is with them for their Shakespearean wordsmithery, their George Clooney looks, their Jesus-esque goodwill, their George Carlin sense of humor, and their wannabe Bobo Balde dong. Really.....it's just that you can take care of her better than the only other guys who ever sniffed around her (e.g. labourers, taxi drivers, factory workers etc. etc.). Let's be honest, none of our women left a rich upperclass Thai man for us.
  14. The Greeks girls were enacted on their wedding day too...but, you know....Greek style, right.
  15. I guess we are both living our fantasies, except I think you haven't woken up yet. Having a relationship is about having your needs met. For women, mostly, that is about having a man that is more successful than her so he is in the position to take care of her financially. Men don't have this need, we have always taken care of ourselves. However, men do have a physical need of our own. Basically, when someone's needs aren't being met, the relationship breaks down. Any counsellor will tell you that. See what happens when you stop providing for her needs. In most cases, the relationship will end. There may be some rare exceptions. If you stop spending on her it communicates to her that your are just friends and not anything more than that. If she stops being intimate with you, it communicates that you are just friends and nothing more than that. We each have different scales that we judge a relationship on, but ultimately it comes down to finance security and sex for women and men, respectively. It is just two different kinds of material needs, both shallow but nonetheless a deal breaker if these needs aren't met.
  16. Can't change nature. We haven't evolved that much. Our cave people instincts still prevail. Women still look for security in a man. That used to mean hunting ability, now it means earning ability. They still look for protection, despite the fact there aren't many dangers nowadays. This is why women like men taller than them. It indicates his ability to protect her. Men's instincts are still telling us to look for a fertile vessel to carry our sperm, despite the fact our consciousness minds don't necessarily want her to get pregnant. This is why we like long hair (as well as other physical attributes). It indicates health and fertility. So, I stand by what I said from a nature point of view, women are looking for cash and men are looking for gash.
  17. I admire your optimism. I wonder which country you think we are in?

    Understanding Isaan

Haha, well I liked it at first, but after a decade I realized I had had enough. It's a fine place for a vacation if you have friends there, or for an old retired duffer to chill in his old age - but there's a reason most Isaan people leave. The place isn't worth much. That said, the local people are best kept at a distance.

Well, Thailand's great, but mostly the "culture" is not so nice and out in the boonies it's the worst.

Unfortunately, you can go there 20 times and never eat nice food. Unless, I just have the uncanny ability to pick the <deleted> restaurants every time. Looks nice; really just a dump

    Understanding Isaan

What's there to understand? Just another part of Thailand, kinda Laotian, hillbillies mostly. I certainly enjoy the scenary though, not the people -- the actual scenary. "Scenary" is not codeword for Isaan women.
  22. In reality though: women just need to flash the gash, and men just need to flash the cash.
  23. Issan women are for a fling, not marriage. It is really hard to find marriage material here, especially Isaan. Most have not been well-raised.
