  1. IGCKorat are you using the 800,000 banked method or the monthly 65,000 method to meet the financial requirements? My reason for asking is that my own extension falls due in April and while a 6 months statement has been acceptable in previous years your original post suggests this may have altered.
  2. I came to the conclusion some years ago that emails to companies don't work here. I resort to LINE now and, more often than not, get a response.
  3. Thailand has a regulatory body, the Thailand institute of Occupational Safety and Health - TOSH. However, if I understand this correctly, the onus is on the employer to appoint safety officers rather than TOSH appoint its own independent inspectors. Clearly the current arrangements don't work. It's time for the government to fund a fit for purpose health and safety executive with sufficient clout to imprison offenders and levy huge fines on any company that fails to abide by the relevant regulations.
  4. Wise have done their bit, the dispute lies between Kasikorn Bank and Krungthai Bank. You probably gone as far as you can as Joe Public. This is an interbank problem which you can't resolve under your own steam. Try contacting Kasikorn's helpline and Krungthai's helpline. If that fails you could contact the Thai Banking ombudsman.
  5. If you do decide to go ahead with this, it would be very interesting if you reported back once you had the opportunity to trial them for a reasonable period.
  6. Google lists the following as acceptable witnesses, Notary Public: A Notary Public is a strong option as they are officially recognized. Lawyer: A barrister, solicitor, or advocate authorized to practice in the country where the declaration is made. Medical professionals: A doctor, surgeon, dentist, nurse, pharmacist, or optician. Police force: A member of a police force. Government officials: A civil servant, government employee, or a local government officer. Other recognized professions: The specific list can vary, but generally includes professions like accountants, teachers, bank officials, or ministers of religion. Hopefully you can find someone to help you among this list.
  7. Yes, you can safety ignore the reminder for the old expiry date.
  8. So it's an email that's gone astray? I expect you have already checked this but on the off chance you haven't, have you checked your email spam folder?
  9. Sorry, just seen your subsequent post where you state that you used your old passport number. However, it doesn’t alter the fact that you need to get your visa stamps transferred to your new passport and then you will need to do your 90 day report.
  10. Forgive me if I have got this wrong but it sounds as if you have failed to notify Immigration of your new passport and have not had the visa stamps transferred. Would I be correct in thinking that when you submitted your 90 day report application online you used your new/current passport number? If so, rejection was inevitable as they would have no record of a visa issued under that passport number. Your old passport became invalid the when you applied for a new one. As Sophon has already stated your first action needs to be to visit Immigration to have your visa stamps transferred to your new passport. The only small consolation is that it's a free service.
  11. My PEA bill shows my address in Thai which obviously wasn't going to be of any use. I used my UK bank account which shows the anglicised version of my Thai address.
  12. What information does Bangkok Bank hold? What address do they have on record for you? Did the passport you opened the account with expire? Try ringing their international helpline on 66 02645 5555 it's open 24/7.
  13. When I had the visa stamps transferred to my new passport earlier in the year, I asked the IO to do a new 90 day report for me at the same time, even though I still had nearly a month to go on my existing one. This was Korat Immigration. I don't know whether other offices are equally obliging but it saved me making a further trip to do my 90 day report in person. I was able to submit my following report on line as usual. It's worth asking your office.
  14. I think you've got your wires crossed "Bangkok Bank is a publicly traded company and does not have a single owner; its primary shareholders include Thai NVDR Company Limited with 29.70% ownership, South East Asia UK (Type C) Nominees Limited with 4.16%, and the Social Security Office with 3.15%. As a public company, it is owned by its shareholders, with these entities holding the largest stakes. " Furthermore the Thai NVDR Company is wholly owned by the Stock Exchange Thailand.
  15. This might help https://www.nationwide.co.uk/help/your-details/using-biometrics/
  16. I don't think anyone on here is qualified to answer that. Even for the very select few that might have family connections with the Thai banking system. Furthermore the banks approach to the required checks on foreign account holders are unlikely to remain unaltered. Having checked recent new account holders, they may decide to look further back. Alternatively they might decide the exercise has been more damaging to their reputation and not worth the effort. It's impossible for us to know. More stringent regulations might be put in place or the current requirements might be relaxed. Hold on to your hat and see where the ride takes us.
  17. Actually they're perfect. Put the notes in your wallet the wrong way up, so to speak. The denominations will then appear in the top right hand corner. You don't need to pull the notes out of your wallet to see their value and furthermore as you look down the print is the right way up for you to read. Damn clever these Thais.
  18. Have you tried phoning the Bangkok Bank help line on 1333? A different issue altogether for me but they managed to spur my branch into action almost immediately. Worth a try if you haven't already done so.
  19. Who has advised you of the transfer cancellation, your UK bank or Wise?
  20. Agreed statement address is in Thai script. However, I've just been through the process of getting a bank statement from Bangkok Bank showing the address in English. Originally my branch reverted to their standard fall back position of chanting the cannot, cannot, cannot mantra. I think this is their standard response to anything that takes them out of their comfort zone. Anyway, rather than engage in fruitless argument, I phoned their helpline on 1333 the following morning. A short but friendly conversation followed and within less than an hour my branch had phoned me back to say that they could produce a statement for me as I requested in English.
  21. Relax. It applies to mobile banking only and can be circumvented by the advance requesting of an increase. Also those who regularly make higher transfers will be profiled accordingly and unaffected. How many transactions do the majority of people make that required the instantaneous transfer of amounts in excess of 50,000 baht? For those few occasions when you can't plan ahead then if all else fails, there is always the option of visiting a branch and arranging a transfer there and then.
  22. 76 grams sounds quite feasible by the time you have added the weight of the envelope. A thousand sheets of A4 80 gsm would weigh 5.0kgs A thousand sheets of A4 100 gsm would weigh 6.2 kgs A thousand sheets of A4 120 gsm would weigh 7.5 kgs American paper sizes for stationery and legal documents can be a bit oddball and they still calculate the weight in lbs per ream, so A4 and grammes per square metre are only a rough guide.
