Very true. I remember having a rate of close to 20% in 1982. And for decades, lived very well off interest income from my investments. Not now! Rates will be going up in March, but just a tad. That will cool the housing market. Even more so if they raise them again a few times this year like's being predicted. We'll see. But this crazy rise in prices is keeping me from moving back to the US. Along with the dodgy political situation! LOL

Sad some fall for the misinformation. One reason incentives are now necessary. Positive (cash, etc) or negative (restrictions, vaccine mandates, financial penalties.). Too bad it has to come to this, but the majority of us who are vaccinated want to get this pandemic behind us. Time for them to get vaccinated.

I had a friend who owned a pit bull. Huge dog. Called him just a baby all the time. Until he wasn't. He attacked his wife, luckily she wasn't hurt badly, but from then, the poor thing was locked up in a cage 24x7. What a terrible way to treat an animal like that.

They're relaxing the quarantine restrictions. I know several who tested positive and are doing self quarantines. They were pushed to go into the hospital, but refused. No biggie. But yes, it's an issue for travel.

We did the same but in June. Came back here when they started the 1 week Phuket Sandbox. It was OK. Got a great ocean view room for a fantastic price. And only 1k Baht ticket back to Swampy. I've heard Mexico is great. Hoping to get back there later this year. Love it there. Might explore around Puerto Escondido, down south. We're leaving again soon. No fun here now.

Especially considering a majority of those in the hospital are unvaccinated. Perhaps making them pay a significant share of the medical expenses would sway them to get the jab. Low income countries are being vaccinated, just not enough and not like the rich western nations. But they are getting jabs into arms. One reason for the slow uptake? Misinformation. Just like in the west. I'm going to South Africa, which is NOT the most unvaccinated country in the world. Actually, they have less cases there than here! So hardly hypocritical. I'm going to where there are less infections.

Why? The data is very clear. Get vaccinated and help put this pandemic behind us. Don't spread misinformation. It just makes things worse.
