  1. Is this something you do regularly? It sounds more like a fantasy than a vice...
  2. Excellent post. It's rare to meet a "have" who aknowledges the role luck played in their journey.
  3. But it's fine to ignore them when they've travelled half way around the world to try and find you after you abandoned them, isn't it?
  4. I agree 100%. I always thought of Pad Krapaow as the British equivalent of chips.... Something you usually order because you can't think of what else to have, but vary rarely (though sometimes) order it because you actually have a craving for it.
  5. The point I'm making is if you're going to submit a fake ticket there are ways to do that without paying. I can see the argument for paying for a genuine onward ticket I can also see an argument for using a fake ticket. I can't see the argument for paying for a fake ticket.
  6. I'm sorry. I can't continue this debate. You have demonstrated a clear lack of understanding of how the asylum system works, and you also don't seem to understand the terms "whataboutary" or "misquote". There's just no way to effectively communicate with such a person. ????‍♂️
  7. The issue with onward tickets is that most sites only provide a booking with 24-48 hours of validity, after that it gets cancelled. This may be fine for "proving" an onward flight when checking in for your flight without a visa, and it's probably just about usable for applying for a visa at an embassy. But it's not suitable for an e-visa application that could take several days. I'm sure somebody will come along and say "who's going to check", but if you have that attitude then there's no need to pay money for an onward ticket at all...
  8. The illigal migration bill is not required to deport failed asylum applications in the UK. All that is needed to deport applicants is for that application to be processed and rejected. Then they can perfectly legally be deported to country of origin. This is the way it's been working for years. At least as many years as as I've been alive, and all ghe way up until about 2 or 3 years ago when the tories just stopped processing the applications. Now, your claim was not that opposition parties reject the IMB, it was that opposition parties reject the premise of deporting failed asylum applications. Do you now accept that this is incorrect?
  9. When I applied for my METV, I had a return ticket but the return leg was well outside the validity of the visa. It didn't seem to be a problem.
  10. Firstly lib dems are not the opposition. Secondly, nowhere in that article is any MP quoted as saying that they are against deporting failed asylum applications. Try again please.
  11. Fantastic. Now whenever my girlfriend complains that I don't buy her nice presents, I can point her to this post. Never buy a girl shoes, watches, perfume or jewelry? Hilarious.
  12. They go higher than that. My current one is a Ryzen 9 with 64Gb RAM. Of course they are laptop-spec CPUs but I'm fairly certain tha the increased cooling should allow them to give a bit more performance than the average laptop. (edit. Bold font nothing to do with me...)
  13. I've had two mini PCs (old one is for sale if you're interested...) Hardware wise most of them are basically just laptops without a screen. They are compact,so take up very little space. They work well as generic office/web browsing machines, and the higher end ones are perfectly suitable for gaming or development or other intensive tasks. The only real downside is limited upgradability (ram and storage can generally be upgraded, but CPU and gfx card can't). But as most people never make any upgrades before just buying a new computer, it's not as big a disadvantage as it really sounds.
  14. Saying "they're all the same" is lazy and a cop out. Net Zero is not being pushed against the will of the people. It has widespread support amongst the electorate. I don't know why you think mass immigration is a bad thing, anyway? We have a declining population and a worforce with too few members to meet our productivity needs. It sounds to me that you are sad that there's a not a party quite nasty enough to support your particular political views. Well tough luck, that's how democracy works. I suggest you vote tory because they are the nastiest party who can realistically form a government (well, not that realistically, but anyway...) I have the same problem. There's not a party progressive or compationate enough to support my views. So I will have to vote Labor in the next election as they are the ones who are closest to my position. If you want to be able to vote for a party nastier than the tories and have it make an actual difference, join a campaign for implementing Proportional Representation... That way both the left and the right can vote in any way they like, and have their vote make a genuine impact on the governnent or opposition which is subsequently formed.
  15. I have no issue with the figures you quoted, so I don't understand the point of your rant. It's a lot of money and it doesn't need to be being spent, I agree. Although I don't believe you really understand what a "hotel" actually is, in this particular context. In your last paragraph you, however, have dismissed all the points I made in the post you quoted saying that I "believe its that easy". For the record, yes, I believe it's that easy. If you disagree then please lay out an equally logical argument for why the current position (not processing claims, letting the backlogs pile up, and therefore paying more money to house the pending claimants) is better than the proposal of processing the applications then deporting the failed ones and introducing the successful ones to a desperately understaffed national work force. I'm genuinely interested to hear a reasonable argument. (edit.... The bold text has nothing to do with me)
  16. Please provide a link quoting a member of the opposition objecting to deporting failed asylum applications. If there are many, that should be an easy task.
  17. I'm not trying to blame the tories. I'm just saying you would have been far better off picking an example of a Labour policy that the conservatives opposed, rather than one they supported. I understand reading comprehension isn't one of your strong points, but I'm really not sure how to be any clearer.
  18. I was also against the war, as was the majority of the public. If I could see through the lies at the time, whilst having no access to the government, why wouldn't the tories be able to figure it out ????
  19. It's not a good idea to choose like the one policy that was supported by the tories at the time to use as an example... ????????‍♂️
  20. When I read the comment from @placeholder, I thought that he really should bolden or italicize "and" betwen "The UK economy has been been hurt by events outside of its contral" and "by the self-inflicted damage which is the result of Brexit". I thought I was just nit-picking, but it seems that people really do have poor enough reading comprehension to require it. Well done.
  21. He'll be playing the Jeremy Corbyn card next ????. While Tories continue to torch the UK, all that their supporters can do is clutch on to errors made in the past. Never mind the current chancellor of the UK stating that prices should be going down in shops because inflation has fallen! The idea that Labour, or any other party could do worse than the current bunch is laughable. I don't know how people can say it with a straight face. They either have a financial interest in this lot staying in power (shares in BP or Themes water perhaps?) or.... well the alternative is pretty obvious.
  22. Well I already prepared a statement for you in the post you quoted ????‍♂️ Incidentally, aren't you the same guy who failed to answer my question about naming some of the EU laws you wanted to see abolished?
