  1. How does that work? The person in the advert transitioned from female to male. How much more pro-male can you get than aspiring to be one?!! Also the person in the photo looks kind of white-skinned to me.
  2. There are plenty of burgundy passport covers available for people who have the blue passport. I'm sure the reverse will be true when we change back.
  3. Sure. I understand that. But, to be honest, I often find non-native speakers are actually able to express themselves more clearly than some of the emotionally-infused rants of some of the native speakers. Maybe this is because they have studied and have technical understanding of the language functions that they are using, or maybe the overhead of thinking in a second language causes more care to be taken. On the other hand, its not really appropriate for somebody to be using the confused emoji because they don't understand the content of the post on a linguistic level. Each to ther own, though :)
  4. Yes. Nice catch. And very fast. Well done. That certainly was pretty embarrassing. I thought I'd gotten away with it, too.
  5. No, I don't think anybody voting in 2024 is going to start a sentence like that. (also, my bet is on a January 2025 election now)
  6. Being concise means getting all the required arguments made in the simplest way possible. If you believe you can reword my post to be less wordy without losing any of the content then please go ahead; I am always willing to learn and improve.
  7. Clear and concise is really a bare minimum standard that people should aim for in their communications. I really don't think it's bragging to say I take care with my words. Although it doesn't surprise me that some people would decide to read it that way ????????‍♂️. As for using logic and not allowing emotions to get in the way, that's just how I roll. If people see that as bragging then I guess it's a good thing, right? It would mean that other people were striving to do the same. And I personally believe the world would be a better place if more people were to do so. (edit... I ironically mis-spelt the first word of the post!)
  8. I'm sorry Mr Jones, but I was asked a specific question and I gave an answer to that question. While I'm sure you enjoyed your little rant, it doesn't even reference, or even counter the argument I made. However you have made me realise that there was a slight over-simplification in my reply to @BritManToo, so I will reword it: You should vote for whichever non-Tory candidate has the best chance of winning in your constituency, in order to aid Labour forming the next government. Because of the two genuine options, Labour is the only one that may eventually lead to proportional representation being implemented. Once PR is in place, you would then be able to vote for a candidate who better aligns with your views. Change takes time. You probably won't be around to see what you want happen (assuming those are serious desires) being implemented. But if you genuinely want those things to happen for future generations, then vote Labour. To get society to the left, first you need to bring them back through the centre. (Edit: bold text has nothing to do with me)
  9. I don't really have an issue with them. My posts are written clearly and concisely. My arguments are based on pure 100% logic with no underlying emotions to cloud the picture. If people give me a confused emoji they are probably trolling. If they aren't trolling, and are genuinely using the emoji for the purpose it's intended, they clearly lack basic reasoning abilities and deserve sympathy, not anger. In reality I think a lot of people use it to say that they disagree with the content of the post, as opposed to actually being confused. As there isn't a specific thumbs-down or "I disagree" emoji.
  10. They've been pretty useless for the last 13 years. For the last two they've been a trainwreck. If they keep on going the way they are, Labour will not only destroy them, there's even a (albeit I will admit very small) chance they won't even make the position of official opposition. Labour are telling the voters what they want to hear, all the while the Tories are trying to tell voters what they should be caring about. Culture wars don't work when you're in power; saying "look how shot everything is and it's all the fault of [xyz]" just doesn't work when you've had 13 years to deal with whatever green-eyed-monster you're trying to demonize.
  11. Is that the only route you see to the Tories retaining their seats? Relying on Labour to trip up, rather than expecting the Conservatives to actually do something useful?
  12. No, not outside of no10. You do it here. I didn't say that there is currently no costs involved. I said if it's done correctly there need be no cost involved. Of course the current muppets in charge aren't doing it correctly! Do you seriously think there's not enough money floating around in the UK to pay for this? Once there is a competent government in charge who won't be shy of, for example, levying windfall taxes on oil firms who are currently doing their ScroogeMcDuck impressions, swimming in thier ill gotten gains made from war profiteering, or making companies like Amazon and Starbucks actually pay their fair share, the treasury will be in a far better position to cover the costs.
  13. Sometimes a break up is difficult for both sides. Sometimes life gets in the way and leaves two people in a position where there is just no way forward. Of course, we're brought up to believe that love can conquer everything. But, just as with most things we're brought up to believe, that's total horse carp.
  14. Yes, a few. One of which will haunt me to the end of my days. Not marrying a girl, however is not a valid way to break a heart. Unless you mean duming a girl at the same time as not marrying her?
  15. I was going to ask you out on a date, Bob.
  16. First: You're adding in conditionals - there is no personal cost to net zero when done correctly so that is irrelevant. Secondly I suggested you were a tory supporter and not a tory voter. So don't try and pull that one. And, before you try and make another ridiculous attempt at a clever response, I mean supporter of their policies, not any kind of financial supporter.
  17. Nothing. Go for a beer, Bob. I'm done engaging.
  18. If you want your last two threads to be taken seriously considering your posting history then, yes, you do need to explain yourself. That's your bed. You made it.
  19. I was wondering which of the 3 categories of remaining Tory supporters you belonged to. Now I know: the deluded.
  20. @bob smith Why do you have direct messages disabled... ?????
  21. More precisely, they voted for the content of the Conservative party manifesto, which contained a commitment to net zero. If he wants to change that manifesto he is required to hold a general election and get a new mandate. In the interest of balance, however, I can't tell from the content of the OP whether Sunak is talking about cutting commitments now, or as part of his election campaign.
  22. One can lead to the other
  23. Must be pretty dull movies. No wonder I never saw them...
