  1. I too like Firefox, but the above is not a feature unique to FF.
  2. Unless he is selling things that can't be easily sourced elsewhere, I think he'll have issues successfully selling internationally unfortunately. Other countries have far cheaper shipping costs than Thailand.
  3. Decades? As in at least 20 years? I don't think it's possible to be dying for 20 years... I think that's called "surviving"....
  4. I have done occasionally but it is rarely a realistic option, if even feasible at all.
  5. What is it with wayward Swedes making trouble in Thailand?
  6. Good point @OneMoreFarang , I hadn't thought of that.
  7. Lol thanks for that. I searched Google but didn't think to search on Lazada.
  8. The built in direction controls don't provide suitable deflection, unfortunately.
  9. I'm not sure this is the appropriate sub-form for this topic. Mods please move it if it's not. The problem with renting properties in Thailand is that the owners tend to put the air conditioning units directly in front of the TV in the living room, and pointing directly at your face in the bedroom. This makes it impossible for me to be comfortable. I like my room to be cool, but I don't want a constant stream of icy air constantly in my face. Before I get the cardboard and glue out, does anybody know if there are any pre-existing solutions to redirect or disperse the air flow? I had a quick google for "air deflector for air conditioner" and got some results but they seem to be for the compressor and not the unit itself.
  10. Well it's a mystery to me.... According to this link.... However the UK government website talks of further changes in 2013. Whether they reinstated the moped allowance I don't know. If anybody here speaks government, then the link I found was https://www.gov.uk/ride-motorcycle-moped/licences-issued-before-19-january-2013 but I can't make head or tail of what it's saying (to be fair I only had a quick scan before giving up - I'm mildly interested, but not interested enough to put any brain power into it! :D)
  11. That depends on when your license was issued. The automatic inclusion of 50cc ended quite some time ago (at least 20 years) I agree that you probably can't officially use that 50cc endorsement to get a bike license in Thailand. However I also don't imagine that every transport office is versed in the intricate nuances of driving licence regulations from all around the world so it wouldn't surprise me if some people had managed to convince somebody to give them a licence based on it. I guess it's worth a try. If it doesn't work out then just do the full test here. It's not that difficult, although of course it's more time consuming than a direct swap.
  12. Yes but this thread is about getting a valid license. I'm highly doubtful that a CBT would be noted on an IDP as it's not a license.
  13. When I did my CBT allowed you to ride up to 125cc max. Maybe it's changed. Are you sure about that? A CBT is an entitlement to learn how to ride. It's not a license to ride a bike without restrictions.
  14. I'm sure if you do everything exactly the way he wants it, you can at least net GG. If you were only after specific individuals you should probably have used DM to make sure they were up for it before creating an "open invitation" then telling anybody who responds that they apparently aren't worthy of your time.
  15. You have an unhealthy obsession with other people's financial situations.
  16. It's a shame that Bobnok seems to have been out drinking and his jealousy of others has led to his attempt at derailing the topic. But it's a decent enough lesson for the OP.... As you're young you're going to meet a lot of bitter expats so it's probably best not to discuss your visa situation with them. If you actually intent to study Thai at a language school you should be fine. The clamp downs tend to be for people who don't actually study.
  17. Don't go then
  18. Not as far as I'm aware. It would have been a very useful option for me last year. Good luck to you, anyway. I know from experience it's not fun to be in need of money in the now, when you know you have the funds coming in the future ????.
  19. In your home country, I would imagine. You're not going to be able to raise that money here. If it was possible everybody would be doing it.
  20. Ghosts have never been described as a different species as far as I know. Maybe you're thinking of aliens?
  21. I've seen one and I still don't believe in them. The mind is imperfect. It can mis-interpret what is presented to us. It can even flat-out make things up. I don't doubt there are people who think they've seen a ghost or spirit. But they haven't.
  22. It is hardly abnormal to "go over the answers" after completing a test, of any description and at any level. As has been mentioned in this thread a couple of times, the machines used to give you this information without even having to ask.
  23. I wouldn't personally run away from Thailand in the hope that you'll find logical and rational people where you end up. All around the world people will look to "the unknown" in order to explain things they don't understand. It's certainly more noticeable here in Asia... People just don't talk about it as much in the west. I don't know if this particular story was made up or not. The pointless gloat about having money ready to invest aside, the actual topic in hand is one we all have to deal with on a daily basis and warrents discussion.
  24. Thinking about this.... To be honest there's probably actually more justification for someone who's doing well in life to believe that spirits exist. Their constant praying and pandering to these spirits appears to have worked for them. What I find difficult to understand is when you meet an unfortunate lady in her 50s who's been working the bar her whole life, has three children by three different absent fathers, has no money to her name and very littlw prospect of things ever improving.... And she still hasn't worked out that all these rituals don't seem to have helped her.
  25. How long have you been living here, Bob? In all the time I've been living here I've only met 2 Thais who don't believe in ghosts. The second one I only met last week. I'd have been more likely to be stunned if he hadn't believed in ghosts. It's embedded into the culture. There isn't even, as far as I can tell, a commonly-understood simple function in the Thai language to say that you don't believe in ghosts. The question on the subject is "are you scared of ghosts?". If you try to say that you don't believe that they even exist you will just get confused faces. Much easier just to use the phrase "I'm not scared of ghosts".
