With all these sackings and financial settlements Mourinho is doing incredibly well for himself financially. He'll be back in football by next season for sure. Did Levy time the sacking today as its less of a story than the Super League breakaway?

Could be the same story. Maybe Mourinho was going to publicly spit his dummy out over the ESL.

I'm sure we would all like you to be correct that this wont go ahead. However they already have the financial backing of JP Morgan and would have already discussed TV rights with new kids on the block. The whole concept is of course greed and all clubs, players, managers and fans must fight this until there is no breathe left. I could see a total boycott by crowds, sponsorships and every tool in their kit bag.

Yes, I've modified my view since my last post due to this:

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/finance/news/arsenal-tottenham-manchester-united-leave-092002899.html#:~:text=Evening Standard-,Arsenal%2C Tottenham and Manchester United leave European,Association after Super League announcement&text=Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has, within the new Super League.

Tottenham and Arsenal have ended their membership of the European Club Association (ECA) as Super League founders look to cut ties with Europe's governing bodies.

Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham has also left his role on the board of the association having only been appointed to the post last month.

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has stepped down from his roles within Uefa, while United have also left the ECA, along with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has resigned as ECA chairman and left his role as part of the Uefa Executive Committee in order to take a senior postion within the new Super League.

Sounds like they're serious about this.

its emerging that their main sponsors are Chinese who want TV rights and possibly some games played in China. In time I could see Old Trafford converted to a shopping centre and the club being rebranded as Manchester United Shanghai.

Not likely to get vaccinated in the UK unless you can prove that you are a still a resident there, I would just stay in Thailand think flight cost, plus quarantine upon return which could be 10 days (ball park figure 40,000thb per person as per ASQ websites)

So you think that any Brit who returns to the UK can get the vaccination? Sorry but I know of many who returned from Thailand and could not get treatment for other issues straight away as they had not paid contributions for a long time, they had to wait 3 months before they could even see a doctor.

Very true, a mate of mine had required some treatment but had to wait a minimum of 3 months due to the fact that he moved back from Thailand, and could not prove he had returned permanently.

All complete BS. I returned for 3 weeks 2 years ago. registered with a GP in 30 minutes and saw a GP the following day. To qualify as resident all you have to do is say that you are returning permanently. No proof required.

I am returning on Friday. 10 days self quarantine with an option to reduce that to 5 days with a further test.

Haven't been back for 2 years but already have an appointment for the vaccine, one week today.

Any more complete BS you'd like to impart on us?

That list looked onerous and rather than sift through 20-odd providers listed for the northwest, most of whom are in Manchester and not near Oswaldtwistle (and some whose websites and email addresses don't work!), I will opt to book and pre-pay for the DIY home test kits via the following.

Postal isn't a problem for "Day 2 and day 8" tests. The problem arises with the "Test and Release" scheme which requires you to test on day 5 and be released from quarantine as soon as a negative results are confirmed. Waste of time if your results take 3 days to come back. You can use a walk in clinic and get a same day result but not a single clinic, participating in the scheme, North of Luton.

I would love to see whose signatures are on the proposal. If this nonsense went through English football is finished, end of story.

Joel Glazier is one of them, in fact 3 of the 6 signatures from the English clubs are American. They love their franchises over there. Trying to create an American style league. No promotions, no relegations just a guaranteed cash cow, year after year.

If this goes ahead United will be out of the Premier League, out of the Europa Cup/Champions league and the English players will be ineligible to play for their country. I doubt very much if it will go ahead.

There are no "simple injections" thst unblock coronary arteries, experimental or otherwise.

I know its not the case but angioplasty felt like a simple injection. I transformed from "the living dead" to "Where are my clothes and my BLT" within minutes.

Don't forget that Tinnies Gourmet Pie Shop and Restaurant probably has the best pies of all descriptions.  Lovely grub.  Thrappaya Road, Jomtien, on the way down to the beach near the welcoming Arch, just before the Krungsri Bank and View Talay 7.   Just saying.

I had never had an Aussie pie before eating one at Tinnies. I was an instant convert. Took a steak and mushroom Tinnies out of the freezer last night for my lunch today.

However, Aussie pork pies? No mate.

My post that you replied to was about eating a warm pork pie, not to be recommended, which obviously you missed.

Highly recommended if served with Bisto gravy and a pile of mushy peas.

Did you manage to complete the passenger locator form without providing a UK phone number ? I provided a landline number and they called me every day , sometimes twice . BTW , there is a substantial fine if you are found not to be self isolating , plus there is always the scare that you may be carrying the virus . I was contacted on day 4 of isolation by government to say that someone on my Thai Air 910 flight to the UK had the virus and was I OK

I can't complete it until 48 hours before arriving in the UK. Its a worry but there's nothing I can do about it now. There must be plenty of others who arrive in the UK without a UK number. If they get arsey I'll give them my mates number.

Scotch pies on the other hand are absolutely delicious hot or cold, but best straight from the oven.

Biggest culinary find I ever had was when camping in Scotland. Nipped to the local village for the Sunday papers and smelt something special. Huge made on the premises bridies, straight out of the oven. So good that my then girlfriend sent me back for another. Pies have never been the same since.

I suggest you try Big Cs Casino brand "Pate en Croute".

Ok it's not called pork pie, it doesn't look like pork pie, but to me, at least, it tastes better than any of the above, and a slice or four go down well with beer and/or whisky! And yes, it's got a little bit of jelly, usually.

And I suppose to you, a bouillabaisse is better than Cullen Skink? Philistine.

I don't recall eating a pork pie in Pattaya with jelly in. If you know where there are some I am all ears  .... as are some inferior pork pies  ...  and sausages.

Siamsbury's have some jelly in them but not exactly brimming. As for a good English breakfast sausage, I've searched in vain.

Yes, they were about the best i have come across but think they have gone down a bit since the pandemic started.

I used to work at a factory in Sheffield and there was a farm on Jawbone that made pies. They started a van round to the factories. It came to us one day and the pies were still warm, memories of warm pies straight out of the ovens in Scotland came flooding back and without thinking bit into it. They were never short on jelly.

As an apprentice I was sent to a nearby pie shop for breakfast orders. I had to arrive at the pie shop at exactly 09.40 to see the pies being brought out of the oven. A serious feat to get them back to work as they were red hot with the molten jelly spilling over the top of the pies.

When qualified, my breakfast order was always the same, 2 Postlethwaites pork pies and 4 pints of milk. The perfect hangover cure.

Not exactly military spec and less accurate than a court-ordered tracking ankle bracelet. Leaving the smartphone at home is easier than removing aforementioned ankle bracelet as well.

Good enough for me. I'll quarantine in the beer garden. Due to arrive home between noon and 1pm on Friday. Full monty and a couple of pints before starting my quarantine.

On a serious note, I'll only have a Thai phone number when I arrive, they're going to have problems contacting me on that.

They ask, and you, being an honest and socially responsible person tell them you are NOT down the local beer garden. This after finding a quiet corner to take the call.

I think the tracking app has to be installed on your smartphone (if you tell them you have one) and that you haven't left the aforementioned smartphone on the coffee table at your mum's house where you're hibernating while you nip down the beer garden (see above).

The beer garden is literally 20 yards from my front door. Another one only 15 yards in the other direction but doesn't sell Stella or food. How accurate is the tracking app?
