  1. I agree that he is not the ideal candidate and 4 years is a long time at 81. I was though reassured yesterday and given it is what it is I feel like he can make it to November in good shape. It was nice to hear actual policies and ideas and points of difference too rather than most political talk which is all about the candidates themselves.
  2. None of us could have done half as good a job as he did yesterday. It wasn't simply reading from a teleprompter - he was clearly aware and actively thinking and responding and discussing complex issues.
  3. My take is Biden was slow to do something. I have always found the democrat approach to migration a bit to nice - statue of liberty and all that - migration can be good but limits are reasonable. But the fact Republicans wont pass the legislation they themselves clearly wanted has taken the wind out of their sails.
  4. I think you're from New Zealand. Nice place to be. No cruelty to monkey issues. 6 months in the cold and clean air and six months back in Thailand might work.
  5. Where you been 2 is 1. Sick of this site? It interests me when people disappear for ages and come back.
  6. Imagine wanting Trump has president. Does your head in. What's wrong with you guys. Pick some other republican. God.
  7. That might change a bit after day. The narrative which I felt a bit too, is he really is a befuddled tired elderly man, but he was like the Biden of old. Many voters want to feel respected by having a decent candidate and he showed to a fair degree he is that and he still has a bit in the tank.
  8. I have been critical of his candidacy but I saw about half and he did really well - quite passionate and articulate - hopefully there are many who will drop the too old and befuddled stuff at least for a while based on that effort.
  9. On the positive side you'll find it nice to back in Melbourne. Been a lovely mild summer though hot weather shortly.
  10. Did you personally see those drug and homeless things or see them in the media? Is a security guard a big deal? Theft at supermarkets is not good but pretty normal and if a bit worse than before is that a gamechanger for your life? When I come back to Australia I could search out some area with homeless or talk to someone about theft at the local store, which is a thing here too, but otherwise I would see everything pretty normal - only problem might be boredom. Good though if it helps you make a decision but you didn't seem all that happy or thrilled about Thailand either.
  11. Australia doesn't or not much except the bits close to Asia.
  12. Not sure I could live there full time. A bit hot.
  13. Odd thing is Sydney is noting they are bring in changes on the same day of March 19 - going from mail to on line applications - but no increase in fee.
  14. Hope I don't become like that. No I know I won't.
  15. Not about you solely. There's lots of people with fairly extreme views on this site that I don't see in my normal life. It's full on if you think about it. What's a little bit odd on this site is highly odd in Australia as you know.
  16. No probs. The post was about you not for you.
  17. One example is that sometimes , say, a supporter of strange right wing things, or conspiracy things, or god things, will make 6 dubious or illogical claims in a post. One can take a few paragraphs to respond, attempting to not be totally dismissive, but showing one has addressed the issues raised. I don't meet people with these opinions in real life. I work in a job where I have to argue things logically so, in the past, a 10 minute break from that, to reply to such a post that might have ended up a bit long, is something to do. At one time I thought maybe you can change that mind, or a different reader's mind, but soon you see them make the same type of conclusions the next day and you realise there is no point and short replies will suffice. Better still don't bother and have a walk in the sun.
  18. No need to go all worgeordie on us and sign off each post. We can see who makes each post from the top left.
  19. Thanks. So looks like no increase in price so may as well wait till the 19th and send to Sydney.
  20. I did a previous post on this. Long cut short don't see love as more than strong feelings - not something that exists itself.
  21. Applying for one shortly - new passport in the mail - based in Melbourne - maybe best to get the application in by the 9th in Sydney. Funny to introduce new technology for one state and make the rest of Australia stick to mail system.
  22. Do you believe that the person in the video can leave his body for 3 days and perform miracles, or believe in the possibility of it, or neither. If you do surely there can be clear scientific proof for that i.e. there may be some subjective experiences where you feel science in 2024 can't go but there should be evidence for that type of thing.
  23. Putting aside the concerns about the 2020 election, which hopefully you can acknowledge are extremely tenuous at best, you say you go for Trump because Democrats are too woke and politically correct and are tearing down the values you hold dear. Are there 5 Biden policies you can point too that are woke - preferably that would affect your life if you were in America. This is Biden policies not some obscure Democrat with no power. The only area I can see as a bit wokish is with the border control but that's been an issue with both sides. One side talking the talk but happy I think with cheap labour. But what are these overwhelming Biden woke policies that make you turn to a doofus like Trump.
