  1. It saved a lot of lives. One can look back in 2025 and forget how many were dying at the time and that fantastic vaccine helped stem the tide. Not everything was perfect and vaccine companies were out to get rich but that's par for the course. There were some who posted here that it was a big government conspiracy and they were taking away our freedom for ever but now it can seem they are left with a few stats that they put together to make them feel better about thinking so much about something that - based on what I see - doesn't warrant it.
  2. Thought you'd know about Maesaring. Maesariang is one of your old user names. Between Dolf and Bignok or something.
  3. Biden had his mental issues - in terms of the quickness of his thought processes for example no doubt - but clearly not to the point where he could not have stepped up and done something - if associates were doing things that he didn't want done. The extent of his pardons were not ideal - the power was abused somewhat - but I think he correctly saw Trump's nature - and that if Trump could go against his family and other good public servants people such as Fauci he would. Most if not all of the allegations against those pardoned were iffy at best - mainly based on conspiracies - with the possible exception of Hunter. I don't like to do a - but Trump - but Trump's recent pardons are truly appalling - people who ripped off the small people, nursing homes, people whose family donated large amounts to Trumps campaigns, people who were supporting him but clearly did really terrible things, and did not deserve a pardon.
  4. I am Australian and never heard of Chris Smith so I don't know how explosive his opinion is. Based in Sydney so maybe a Sydney thing. It's not part of the ratings system so 2SM must be a bit obscure in 2025. It was a big station some decades ago but I don't think what someone on that station is saying now is a big deal at all.
  5. Are you comfortable with his breathtaking abuse of power by benefiting himself and family. Are you comfortable with the absolute scumbags he has recently pardoned. In terms of policy he's put terrible people in control, made silly decisions on trade then in part undone those decisions, cosying up to the worst people, putting freedom of press at stake by using regulation as a political tool. Effective in immigration but huge concerns regarding the way it has been done. DOGE could have been a good thing but was so poorly and recklessly executed it beggars belief. If eggs are cheaper or stock market ok it's in spite of him rather than because of him.
  6. Do you go on like this to real people in the real world. Family. Friends. People at the pub. If not then why here? Bloody hell.
  7. I think some of these Trump followers need a girlfriend. Too much time on their hands.
  8. Says the relationship with Australia is important. Then does this on a whim. This is the sort of thing that bit by bit damages the relationships between countries. Look for more consistent allies and trading partners. Will make steel more expensive in America. Let's see if he keeps with it or not this time.
  9. You are not a Trump supporter apparently but it's hard to find you critical of many of his policies and you seem resistant to criticisms of him - though that's based on a small sample of your posts I have seen to be fair - but it could be good if you didn't snipe and said something useful - as a Canadian what do you think of his approach to tariffs.
  10. If you go to one of those restaurants with the ++ service charge can you safely assume a tip is not expected or do staff still expect a bit of a tip? I tip massage and normal restaurants and odd other places here and there.
  11. It's a bit of a silly username - it came out of nowhere and I've never been fat well a bit here and there sometimes - but the point at the time I think was that people on this site would say 'Thai girls are crazy' and I thought of the thin thai girls with these often fat, dull, opiniated, often drunk shockers and think - who's the crazy one. I was not pro Harris - more against the silly stuff you guys are on about. Cheerleaders for a dotard.
  12. 99 per cent of posters are fine. There is the odd one who is offensive to the point where you feel the need to make a personal comment - for what it's worth. I see some guys talk about their lifestyle - revel in being with young girls - revel in their dodgy lifestyle - try and act all manly with posts about guns and prostitutes and their reverence for what they perceive as manly leaders - while seriously moralising and denigrating the lifestyles of others such as gays or those with different political beliefs. There's a line between a bit of chat and something else - if it goes beyond I think it's fine to call out posters personally. Often I think it's a sign they have been hurt so leave them be but hard to sometimes. Not talking about you by the way.
  13. Not many dull right wingers and those that are here seem busy on this site
  14. Didn't you get married recently. Oh well.
  15. How would you - an upstanding Republican of the highest order - react to that sort of answer from a politician with no doubt the best of the best health care.
  16. What is this about. You need some detail so we know who hates Trump and therefore needs to go to prison or something.
  17. America is embarrassing sometimes. Trump supporters will surely call this out - even they can't be that lame.
  18. Take your point if done fairly though to take into account the range of personal circumstances e.g. homelessness, difficult personal circumstances between work, etc. I think the whole narrative of the press working for Biden has some truth but is exaggerated. I can remember the lead up to his last State of the Union - the focus of all the press was on Biden's mental acuity but then he did a really good job which took the pressure off for a while. There was no shortage of people asking questions and after the debate with Trump all bets were off. I am not saying he didn't have issues but this notion that he was totally brain dead and the press ignored it is overstated in my opinion. Trump has given reporters plenty of ammunition to question his mental state - just for totally different reasons - he's said and done a lot of weird stuff.
  19. Used to be that the Is there a god thread was used a lot. Whenever anyone posted - even if months between posts - certain other posters who I don't see otherwise would come out of nowhere to give there 2 cents.
  20. There is a clear fear and submissiveness to the dear leader a la Putin. How far Trump tries to take it remains to be seen .. but the fact that no one, or few, on his side speak about his crypto coin, the plane, the bypassing of laws on aspects of immigration, etc , doesn't auger well. But as of now he is no where near the Putin level of domination over his fellow men. Not sure he's got the wherewithal or smarts or focus to pull it off.
  21. Was watching something about those crosses Donald Trump said were burial sites of white farmers, representing white genocide, to the South African president. They were in fact - as has been said - a commemoration in 2020 of people of all colors creeds and ethnicities who had been victims of rural violence. One bit of paper he handed the president was apparently about the Democratic Republic of Congo rather than South Africa. Who says that, in front of the world, without checking the background of what they are saying? I don't see it as dementia but extremely poor judgement brought on by arrogance such that he simply doesn't care as those around him give him free reign out of fear - and his supporters accept it or don't care as they'll say there is some truth, somewhere, in what he is saying. Similar to the Haitians eating cats and dogs in Ohio. Trump is Trump but his enablers and his supporters, who don't care about truth but care about the feel of what is said, are what is at bigger fault here. That includes many on this site .
  22. Used to be a lot of time share touts in Phuket. Stop you on the street. One time I got a free week at a fancy hotel but then had to spend a fair few hours with this guy who was not thrilled when he worked out I was not gonna buy his terrible time share thing. Wouldn't bother now but fun to get a free week.
  23. You ask a lot of questions. Big tariffs on the EU and Apple is a big deal. I guess the market thinks - who's next and what's next and is this idiot ever going to learn with all these random pronouncements.
  24. Eggs is eggs. Let's be honest. Nothing he's done has likely impacted the cost of eggs either way. But tariffs will have a real effect on Targets prices.
