Where does the Term Guardian Angel come from? I believe it to be a former loved 1 who has passed over and he or she is around looking out for you. You will never see him but you may feel his or her presence such as the feeling when you get that someone is watching you when no one is there.

Hope that's not a thing. Don't want to be watched thanks.

If you think though, in practical terms, what would this dead person be i.e. what is there state of mind. How boring would it be for them to follow one of us around. Making sure we don't drink too much beer or we are careful crossing the road. If they have changed into some form of ethereal light or goodness then are they really the same imperfect annoying person they were when they were alive or are they somehow enlightened but still the same person. Hard to make a ghost or spirit or something make sense.

How about when you die and find out you backed the wrong horse, Humans made rules, following God's commandments, which, even if you leave those out that are about him, make perfect sense. You might read this, because you're understanding of slavery is limited.....................https://ac3.org/2016/01/did-jesus-condone-slavery

No point debating this because faith by definition is not necessarily logical. You could instead be saving souls. A recent bar girl thread has some horrid posts. Rather than debating Gods existence why not show why he is your inspiration and show the heathens the error of their ways. Praise Jesus.

Taxes on companies should be a gross income or turnover tax with deductions only allowable for R&D. Even a marginal rate like 5% would be a huge boost in revenue. Such a tax scheme is being introduced worldwide to prevent companies offshoring to avoid tax.

Businesses need deductions for real business expenses such as wages and the things they buy to produce what they sell. The problem is as you say the loopholes, particularly with deductions claimed from international structures, and opportunities to avoid tax in general with often weak poorly resourced IRS,  or equivalent, playing catch up. For every dollar governments spent on IT and audit capability and smart legislation introduced in a timely way they’d get $10 back in taxes. That is with existing tax rates.
Often it’s the wage earners who bear the brunt. They are the low hanging fruit - they say limit wage rises as economy bad or limit wage rises as economy  too good due to inflation but marginal taxes often much higher than for businesses.

I also disagree with these comments which use phrases such as 'sexual harassment' and 'attack' etc...

This was not sexual at all...  and the implication made by the woke media attempting to inflame this situation weakens the genuine cases.

Those jumping on the bandwagon are making equally flawed decisions - a brief peck, even if unwarranted is not sexual, neither is it an attack.

Understandable that a flamboyant person may be moved to do something like that at a key moment like that.
I can understand though women’s and others reaction - in a moment of success and power for women the holding of her head and strong kiss is sending a message of control and compliance.
You might think the last bit is over the top but would you like it if at a key moment of YOUR success some one holds you by the head and plants a kiss on your lips.
But worse things happen at sea, and if he acknowledged he should have taken care and  had no prior issues, it could have been left there.

  5. Thais definitely have a different temperament and often a certain gentleness and grace lacking in some in say Australia. If I base Australians by the news or media or Jetstar flights I am not keen but based on neighbours and friends and workmates they are as nice as any people.

I  ran out of  cologne recently and  I'm  looking for something new.  I was toying  with another  bottle of Eternity For Men, which I  like, but when trying a tester at our local Robinsons it doesn't seem quite the same anymore and they wanted BHT 4,500 for it.

I'm looking for something for the day, summery and fresh, possibly aquatic tones or beachy.  Any recommendation  for a good cologne or EDT  around BHT 2,000 or  less available here?

I’ve never worn aftershave or colognes or whatever. Not my thing.
Eternity for men 100 ml edt is $35 in Australia or 780 baht at the store below. Not sure if that helps but they seem to ship overseas for some products. If they can sell it at that price there must be others.

  7. Had a close family member go through it and pass away this year. In Australia it can be free in nursing homes where they take 85 per cent of the pension. Some nursing homes personable, down to earth, nice single rooms and a lot of activities.

If the lack of awareness that you are ill is slightly ahead of the illness itself then it can be somewhat of a life for the sufferer. Things like nice food, chocolate, and sunshine and massages and company bought the sufferer some pleasure.

Had to face the issue of whether to seek treatment this year when they got ill. Seemed clear to me the person had a kind of life and steps should be taken to help them as long as it didn’t involve intrusive things like ventilators. Others who didn’t see them as much seemed to compare the current person to the healthy person and thought it wasn’t a life worth living. Hard decisions. Awful part was looking at diaries over the years and the attempts by the person to stay positive and document things to help remember. You see the decline over months and years. Horrible. Don’t know what I would do.

I went a few weeks ago for the 3rd time to Koh Chang.
Was a bit of a gamble but weather was fine. A few days sunny and raining for an hour or so. Mostly raining at night.
3rd time as well at "Sylvan" (new name).

Love the hotel. Very clean, well maintained, clean beach, can swim across to a small island, lovely breakfast buffet and nice meals served, a few metres from the beach.

    My favourite place.

The forest walk from the top to the beach is pretty special. Funicular fun. Nice beach once you know where rocks are. Left two days ago. Beauty.

    Same as I've had for years age 76:  weight remains stable with no particular diet except for this breakfast.  Lunch is any Thai dish spicy hot and occasional;

    US fast food.

Steel cut oats (soaked for 24 hours so no cooking necessary), chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, turmeric, black pepper, flax seed meal, dash of

beet root powder, sesame seeds, (if available hemp protein powder or hemp seeds) walnuts, blue berries, (if available- seedless grapes, black berries, cherries,

pineapple, raspberries, papaya, cantalope, melons  ((not all but mixed up)).  fortunately we here in this country have a multitude of fresh fruits to add to any meal.  In CM RimPing carried all, here in Bangkok there are several different stores that stock almost all of these ingredients.  BP stays just below level for someone younger than me, I avoid sugar and salt plus no booze either.  I usually fast from 2PM to 5AM but drink a lot of water.  I have extra protein on the days that I lift weights and I try to walk 5K every evening.  I am pleasantly surprised a how many folks here admit to eating somewhat healthy.  Take care enjoy life.

I like my oats. Can you convince me steel cut oats are worth the additional cost to rolled oats. Seems they maybe keep you fuller but it’s still oats it seems.

  10. Wondering why tides are so high at White Sand Beach. Been coming for 10 years and like a late afternoon swim. Never seen tide so high at this time. Whole beach gone and wave hitting businesses and barriers for hours. Forget restaurants on the beach at night.
