  1. As of 12 August Vaccine numbers Augut 12, 2021 He disclosed that, by August 12th, 22.5 million doses of vaccines have been administered. These include 10.7 million doses of Sinovac inactivated virus vaccine, 9.68 million doses of AstraZeneca viral vector vaccine, 1.7 million doses of Sinopharm inactivated virus vaccine and 286,704 doses of Pfizer mRNA vaccine. So 13 mm for AZ is a decent estimate to date. There could be 1 mm in logistics? But 12 mm a month for Sep, Oct Nov and Dec sounds impossible. But maybe all 48 mm will arrive on 32 December? Mmm.
  2. Daily vaccinations fell to 206,820, from 500k-600k. Still only ~ 12% (50 mm people was the goal) "fully" vaxxed, most with the waning immunity of Sinovac. And reserves seem to be low - hence the fanfare for 150k doses of AZ from Bhutan. Vaccinations won't slow the next wave I fear.
  3. Maybe have a look at the most recent iteration, "Chromecast with Google TV" (CCGTV), I finally upgraded to this, and have been pleased so far. Less than 3,000 here. shorturl.at/qvxzE Plenty of reviews on Youtube. I find casting Netflix from my phone is much, much better than using my TV's native Netflix (or Youtube) app. The phone acts as a much better "remote". But now I just use my CCGTV.
  4. Link to what the OP summarized... FDA grants full approval to Pfizer-BioNTech’s Covid shot, clearing path to more vaccine mandates The FDA granted Pfizer and BioNTech full U.S. approval of their Covid-19 vaccine. The move may encourage some unvaccinated Americans to get the shots as well as give more private businesses across the nation greater confidence to implement vaccine mandates. Up until now, the mRNA vaccine was on the U.S. market under an Emergency Use Authorization. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/23/fda-pfizer-biontech-covid-vaccine-wins-full-approval-clearing-path-to-mandates.html
  5. Kind of "old" news as this was raised a month ago. (Huge ProPublica fan BTW, although the linked article falls below their usual standards IMO.) CDC needs to start tracking all Covid breakthrough infections, Gottlieb says The CDC doesn’t have enough resources to properly track breakthrough infections in real time, Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday. Currently, the CDC website indicated that 5,914 Americans have either died or been hospitalized with Covid breakthrough infections. “The breakthrough infections, as rare as they are, have the potential to forward transmit with the same capacity as an unvaccinated person,” CDC Director Walensky said. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/28/cdc-needs-to-start-tracking-all-covid-breakthrough-infections-gottlieb-says.html Was this ideal? No. Is it a "conspiracy"? Isn't everything. Since then... 6. They (DCA/MoFA, who managed expatvac) already passed the buck to the MoPH. This is the MoPH passing the buck to the Provincial Health officials. In my case (Bangkok), for expatvac, I did receive emails (15 August for the first one) and SMSes from a hospital in Bangkok with appointment details, to which my expatvac "registration" was passed. Received another SMS yesterday saying come in between 23 Aug and 30 Aug between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  7. Unless you recognize and trust the sender I might steer clear of clicking on links in emails? I mean unless you DO know that particular Prince. If you can't resist, then install LINE on your phone, then add the sender, then view any messages. In LINE it is quite easy to send photos and videos. Or maybe it is a video meeting request?
  8. What is the model number of the HP printer? There may be a tank conversion kit. And you may be able to refill the cartridge; some Youtube tutorials. LaserJet would be more cost effective, especially with off-brand replacement cartridges. ~ 35 satang per page. But with all the work from home here there is a shortage of inexpensive laserjet printers.
  9. Please be aware that... Channels FOX Movies, FOX Action Movies, FOX Family Movies, FOX Life, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports 3, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Baby TV, Star Chinese Movies will be discontinued till 1st October, 2021. No clue what that means exactly. Unavailable now, but will be as ov 1-10-21, or available now until 30-9-21? https://www.ais.th/play/en/package.html And an hour after you get the optimal set-up it'll require another week of re-tuning. I'd make a list of the exact channels, streaming sources and specialized content you want, then start cobbling together solution(s). AIS does offer Disney + Hotstar, their AIS Play offer may be losing channels soon, not sure about replacement. But check it out via your SIM for a month, cast to Chromecast. TrueVisions does offer some American football, and F1 and golf/tennis majors. For American football sign up for the free version of NFL GamePass International (no live regular season games - well maybe a few on NFL Network, but the do offer recaps, , or the full package at $199.99. And look at the IPTV offers, and consider a more sophisticated Android streaming device/box. And search through the sub-forums: Audio Visual, IT (this one) where you will find a lot of great detail from other members.
  10. There have been a few threads here about the Guam vaccination option. Several have first-hand experiences. For some it is an option. They would. Plenty of Thais have traveled to the U.S. and obtained vaccinations presenting their Thai passports. (I see you didn't mention the U.S. so ignore that if not applicable.)
  11. Their FB page has two updates, which more or less say they sold out quite quickly.
  12. But I thought that any account in support of a retirement extension needed to be in your name only. No joint accounts. And if it is fixed term why is the passbook "full"? Not sure what type of "access" the partner had, that they don't have today? All in all, quite confusing.
  13. Time on the market is quite low. From highs of 60 days not so long ago, now approaching 10 days. Bid/ask now slightly above 1.0. And rents, oy vey, you'd think these would be flat or decline, but price:rent ratio approaching the 2006 height. I guess if I still owned I might think about selling now, unless I had a reliable, long-term renter.
  14. Neigh. Is what my horse says when I ask her if I should de-worm
  15. Trend looks pretty good, obviously shelter-in-place works. But what are the guidelines/thresholds for lifting restrictions? And I'm not certain the recent vaccination numbers (five days over 500,000, with two days over 600,000) will hold? So it feels like there's nothing to prevent another wave?
  16. They've created a monster, maybe it seemed like a good idea to some desperate people, and now they have to live with it. Or hope it floats away on its own?
  17. Which bank? There are some bank lurkers here. Is this a joint account? It sounds like it is. Do you have any remote access (web or app)? This issue has come up before, I'd search the forum to solutions. I guess I'd contact the bank as a first step to see if this can be overcome remotely with some sort of legal documents.
  18. Which version? You have a mobile phone? Which provider? How do you currently view Netflix? Via a native app on your lone smart TV, or do you cast from your phone to either/both Chromecasts? You have True Online Fiber? Do you have any other True products? TrueVisions? TrueVisions has a promo right now for TrueMove H customers. I think you're going to be hard-pressed to cobble together, and manage on a daily basis, the various free and paid services you require. Add in the VPN issue, which seems to be harder and harder to overcome, and soon you'll need a work permit. It will be more of a hobby than entertainment, which is fine. There have been hundreds of great threads and posts here, searching for and finding them is challenging. Start by Googling: streaming site:aseannow.com and refine to the past year. And substitute streaming with expat tv or IPTV. Scouse123's solution sounds worth investigating, if it's half as good as claimed it is worth the 600 baht/month. Most of these IPTV solutions are dodgy here - based on my recollection of posts over the years. And people often exaggerate the performance, perhaps in an effort to justify their own decision.
  19. You have to have the approval of the building management, and the ISP needs to agree to pull the fiber. Unless you string the fiber up the outside of the building this will be cost-prohibitive. Talk to others who live in the building, rather than the lady in the lobby, as they are far more likely to know what is possible. Often there are LINE groups for buildings and housing estates here, where residents share all sorts of awesome information, and answer questions. 3BB did (does?) offer a similar FTTC solution.
  20. Yes, I think that's why they gave us all a Thai ID Card number, which suits their systems better than various passport numbers?
  21. They're giving Pfizer boosters here as a third shot for medicos, so one hopes that regimen is "safe". 542,188 here have received a total of three vaccine injections. This guy needed four shots to be able travel to Canada. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thai-doctor-given-4th-dose-with-pfizer-vaccine-to-enter-canada-without-being-quarantined/ Seems like he ate the whole left-side of the menu? 2X Sinovac, 1X AZ, 1X Pfizer. Who knows what the requirements will be going forward, ask again later. In your situation I'd return to my homeland, and go through their vaccination regimen. That assumes your homeland allows entry with or without quarantine, and has the vaccines you desire on offer.
  22. Thanks for that. I wondered where people were getting the testing figures. That represents total tests (PCR+ATK), or just PCR? If you happen to know.
  23. Ok, thanks for stepping us through your thought process. It makes perfect sense. ????
