in comparison to death, after effects from sars2, from vax are not that important. And are not measured well, according to same criteria and not compared internationally

had ct scan for part of spine for 10k. That was 6 years ago, prices went up

Thailand orders 120 million vaccines for 2022
internationalism replied to FridgeMagnet1's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
your own words on your troll thread about sinovac: "Bit disappointed with some of these well reasoned replies, was hoping for something stronger and angrier." and from your original post here: "ah look; here comes somebody to have a moan about Sinovac in 5,4,3,2,1". You are obsessed about sinovac. Not many people are moaning about - problem is of getting absolutely any vax at all. Only some 32mln jabs are done in thailand, out of the projected 100mln (yet before delta). The majority of vaccinated are with sinovac and they all will need boster. Already 700k of pfizer had to be given to medics. Tens millions more of boosters will have to be given, a huge waste of resources - from buying one of the most expensive vax (some 650b per dose), to administering it in overcrowding conditions in the middle of the deadliest 4th wave -
the only important data is deaths per million. world average is 670, thailand 137, peru 5906 (so 43x as much as thailand) Yes, it's rising fast in thailand, but until it reaches world average we should consider ourselves lucky. myanmar has 262, malaysia 431, but cambodia only 106, Laos 1 (those 2 are under reporting)

as phuket sandbox now requires only 7 days stay, there is a chance more would be coming to samui. But, at the same time, phuket tourists now can go to some other 5 islands close to phuket. Faster and cheaper. Still samui can draw them now, because of still moderate rainfall. But not for long, around month

Thailand could be first in ASEAN to produce vaccines

why a spokesman for the foreign ministry is talking about locally made vax? that it's not his expertise at all. Himself he is an IT guy. Are they cooperate with some foreign academics on development? are they buying a licence? are they copying without authorisation? what is an exact role of diplomats in those processes? espionage? is it because dr Anutin is holed up at his rancho playing with some pinched donated pfizer and somebody else has to bring any good news in those desperate times? -
this "news" is 5 weeks old. First came on 14.7 and is being reheated by the government mouthpiece propagandists since than. Not surprisingly it states: "for those who still cannot access the vaccinations, those who require booster doses". That's because there are not enough doses for this very 2021 year. Boosters are needed, because sinovac is below expectations. That is why already now pfizer is given pronto as a booster to medics on 2 sinovac. And why pioneered mix and match policy is implemented. Those 50mln of the AZ for the 2022 includes 36mln signed already in May. The government hoped, that they can force the AZ to be delivered this year - not so. Those doses will be coming in 9mln batches in January-May. Those 10mln mentioned in today's article are not the AZ at all, as implied. That figure is repeated from the beginning of year, but is false. In the last 3 months there were only up to 6mln of AZ per month locally made. There were the AZ: 1mln donated from Japan, 415k donated from the UK, 150k borrowed from Bhutan. The rest are emergency orders of sinovac, now reaching 30mln and another 12mln just ordered a few days ago. Sinopharm first 1mln and 5mln follow up. Also donated Pfizer 1.5mln https://www.thaipbsworld.com/purchase-of-120-million-doses-of-covid-19-vaccine-for-2022-approved-by-nvc/

get with you to hospital your green vax book and insist on leaving there any marks about covid vax. Explain, that you travel internationally. Ideally they should put sticker there, with batch number etc for tracing - as it's done with all other vax. If you don't have one yet, get to any travel clinic, the red cross, order some vax (for example seasonal flu) and you will get this book for some 30b.

showing up at the hospital to beg for a vax is a good or bad news? I haven't heard from them anything, so bought moderna for 2022 booster and trying to get some of same for 2021. I don't have hope for anything free

Health and Foreign Mins unite to acquire more vaccines

and not forgetting about a glorious pro-china diplomacy from the foreign minister Don - rejection of minimum 2mln offer from the AZ from India at the end of the last year. Yes, that one was vax diplomacy, part of china-india regional spat, but minimum 13x bigger, than just merely borrowing 150k doses from Bhutan in August https://www.thaienquirer.com/23278/rejection-of-indias-vaccine-offer-adds-to-mounting-concerns-about-thailands-vaccine-program/ -

this "news" is 5 weeks old. First came on 14.7 and is being reheated by the government mouthpiece propagandists since than, that includes numerous volunteer maggots from PR team from the ministry of foreign affairs, writing one sentence eulogies. Not surprisingly it states: "for those who still cannot access the vaccinations, those who require booster doses". That's because there are not enough doses for this very 2021 year, with foreign ministry scrambling to get any scraps from anywhere around the world, including meagre 150k from Bhutan (some country 100x smaller than Thailand, but which prime minister is a doctor, not a military commander and health minister and some other ministers are also doctors, and not powder peddlers). Clearly boosters are desperately needed, because sinovac is below expectations (as suspected already in January by Thanatorn, an unofficial lider of the opposition - for which statement he is sued by the government with lese majeste). That is why already now pfizer is given pronto as a booster to medics on 2 sinovac. That's why the mix and much policy had to be implemented, to safe lives of those, who got only sinovac 1st and even 2nd dose. Those alleged 50mln of the AZ for the 2022 includes 36mln signed already in May. The government hoped, that they can force the AZ to be delivered this year - not so. Those doses will be coming in 9mln batches in January-May https://www.thaipbsworld.com/purchase-of-120-million-doses-of-covid-19-vaccine-for-2022-approved-by-nvc/ -
allegedly, hotels applying for state quarantine (that ones for repatriating and supplied free by the state) and asq permit were giving 30% kick backs to get into this scheme, as there were no tourism to sustain them. That was reported here on forums. In thailand it's the army which controls incoming travellers since the very beginning of covid. First repatriates were put at army seaside resorts on east coast, because they were close to suwarnabumi, they were empty, isolated, inside military bases so secure, guarded. In emergency army was able to organise fast transport as well as on site basic medical facilities. From there army moved swiftly to this lucrative business claiming their expertise in containing people. Clearly it transpired at the end of last year, when repatriate at state quarantine posted on social media his experience from his Pattaya hotel. It was the army spokesman who first reacted and threaten with legal action. Most probably there is a similar story with ALQ, local quarantine. I would not be surprised if SHA+ on phuket was riddled with similar pattern, but I haven't read about it yet. Here I would suspect more of a local mafia, but there is always close association of "influential people" with the governor. Same will go for pattaya sandbox, and most certainly with Buriram (deeply controlled by bumjaitai party, with health ministry and transport ministry originating from here). There was also a scandal with domestic tourism "go half" scheme, to combat sluggish covid recovery, where hotels were overcharging state by as much as 50%, with as many as 10 000 hotels under investigation and facing prosecution. It was possible to get same rooms and same price at agoda. Thai vaccination program fiasco can also be partially explained by corruption of politicians. Thanatorn, leader of opposition, is facing lese majeste charges, for criticising the government negligence (that was around the censure debate in January). That was the only reaction from the government. They did not change their vax policies until much later, after Thonglor Alfa 3rd wave, and it came too late, after songran (allegedly transport and tourism were pressing Prayuth not to cancel holidays)

they did plan to shut down sandbox, when total infection riches total 100. Today alone were 102 positives. For the last week it also hoovers around 100 per day. Together they have already thousand at hospitals, hospitels. So they had to shut down the whole island shortly sandbox started. Closed air port for domestic flights, bar charters to Utapao 3x per week. Tourists are stranded there and no domestic tourism allowed in. Samui has only some 10 tourists per day. Again, airport closed. Such copy of sandbox for pattaya, hua hin won't work at all. Completely different circumstances. It's not possible isolate those places from the rest of country - they are in a very middle of thailand, not in remote borders, as phuket and samui. Lines drawn in sand.
