  1. pointless article, if mild symptoms, no needing hospitalisation and no medicines. The great majority survives omicron reasonably well
  2. what in the other countries would be the a matter of hours into investigation, in thailand it takes 3 days for alco and drug results and still waiting for speed readings. That with tens of cameras on the bridge and the very car black box to be checked. This very strange move to search for drinking companions might lead to charging them and deflecting blame from porsche driver
  3. the second autopsy was carried by the siriraj hospital, which is mahidol university. Looks, like they were somehow dropped from this new committee
  4. the very same omicron is in largely unvaccinated Hong Kong. And it's bad there, with shocking pictures from hospitals. No need to wait to see how much 30% of unvaccinated thais will suffer. Each variant is a potential danger to those already post-covid. How long protection from the previous infection would last? If it's only some 90 days, as estimated, so those infected in December might get it at some stage.
  5. well, maybe just another way for money laundering? They do have so much money that 12mln or 17.5mln doesn't mean to them
  6. getting soaked in water, sometimes cold, sometimes dirty from canal, and for hours, can lead to lowered immunity and different infections. That should be avoided. But washing somebodies hands or feet is completely harmless. I don't think it was ever mentioned by the government the last year, even there was more serious virus raging around. Many elderly would be upset and won't understand reason.
  7. vax certificates are mandatory to travel anywhere, even domestic travel. Transit is easy anywhere, with an exception of singapore. The best website for checking intenarional travel details is https://apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions
  8. I have checked for those 2 compounds and non of them is used in meat or any food production. But yes, those red thai sausages do look unhealthy. Must be a lot of salt and preservatives to allow meat not to be kept at low temperature and for that long.
  9. "From the beginning of this year to March 8, a total of 12,796 hotspots were reported across forest areas and farmlands. This figure was lower than last year’s 17,289 hotspots and 25,770 in 2020." I would think that figures for 2020 and 21 were total for the whole year. Small chance they were adjusted for 1st January to 8th March. So this year statistics have a long way to go, minimum another month. Plus end of the year, after the rainy season. I don't remember the last year being better than 2020. Contrary, it's the first time that I was forced to get 2 air cleaners, filters on windows nets and on room fans. This year's February was very wet, with rainy clouds coming already end of January. And winds blowing clean from the South, instead of air pollution coming from China. Very unusual pattern for those months.
  10. "Under these protocols, infected employees will be sent to field hospitals for treatment. Workers who test negative will meanwhile be housed at separate accommodations to avoid potentially infecting other groups. They will also not be permitted to participate in any cross-group work or travel beyond their workplaces and provided accommodations." from 15.02 those positives with only mild symptoms were send home for 10 days self-isolation, no any treatment needed. Very few in risk groups have received favipiravir from health volunteers or by post, as there is shortage of it. And from 16.03 those opting for hospital treatment will have to pay by themselves. So good companies will have to fork out for sending workers to field hospitals. This article contradicts what health ministry is saying, gradually moving from pandemic to epidemic, phasing out restrictions. There is a mistake in the second sentence - restrictions are put on positives, not on negatives
  11. Cod should not diverse into corruption in this company, not relevant to speeding of company owner's son. Also Wirachai is not a cop anymore - was dismissed from service in for taping conversation with his superior and disclosing it to press. Yes, he was the owner of company and high ranking police, probably thai law allows for this. But Cod should ask questions about an accident itself, for example intoxication results not available yet, what the posters mentioned above.
  12. immediately after the accident on saturday there were 8 dead, on sunday 7, on monday only 6. that with minimum 10 critically injured. something not right here
  13. send your positive to hotel and re-book for a minimum 15 days after you first tested positive. Same with an airline. Only emirates will fly you positive, that after recovery. Ask dr to issue you medical certificate right now, some airlines insist on this certificate to be issued minimum 14 days before flight. Also ask for an original test result. If you test positive in thailand with recovery certificate you won't be quarantined. I would not dare to fly on 20.03 without recovery certificate. Your departure test might be negative, but turn to positive in thailand and you will get 10 days hospitel at own expense of some 50k baht.
  14. I got at pharmacy 325mg, blisters by 10. They come from a box of 500, no name of producer on the blister itself, just very small symbol/thai writing. some 1b per pill
  15. one of those agents is creating a new email address for each applicant, so hackers can't get true address. But for just that only reason is not worth those 2500b. All other data, much more sensitive, is stolen as well (most probably), not just emails. I got my TP in 6h, when I have spotted some minor mistake in my application (wrong departure country) I have resubmitted and got the second pass in 2.5h.
  16. I have now bought this policy. Instant communication with company, instant payment and instant documents delivery by email (including a cover covid letter for immigration). Much different to my experience with all thai insurance companies, which are slow, unresponsive. If covid situation doesn't change within a year, I will expire my regular health insurance (which is 12x more expensive) and possibly get only some accident policy for 1mln.
  17. drive along border to trat, ferry to koh chang and stay several days. Get back and move along cost line every 2 nights to a new location. Search googlemaps for "tourist attraction", "museum" and take all along your route on costal roads. Take samet, larn and sichang islands. Treat him to the national museum (even 2-3 visits with free guided tours) in bangkok, river and canal trip on public transport, science museum ekkamai, childrens discovery museum chatuchak.
  18. wearing mask was advised in thailand by the ministry of health, all medical bodies. To the point, that there was shortage of masks, people recycling them, washing, hot ironing, UVC disinfection and sawing their own. The SEA WHO misjudged order was ignored. No, not all and everywhere were and are wearing them, a small minority. Some people do wear 2 masks since Delta the last year.
  19. no new requirement. the last update was for 1.03 removing the 5th day pcr. probably the best to put an address where you plan to stay - whether already payed or planned. For example one you stayed in thailand on T&G v1
  20. Ahmad's name is most probably spelled Waseem (and not Wasim). If yes, he is from hong kong, cricketeer https://www.thephuketnews.com/kcc-to-face-phuket-misfits-in-grand-final-at-the-acg-this-weekend-74808.php
  21. I have bought 20 for 1320 and got 4 free. Just street pharmacy
  22. russians started to come in large numbers from the beginning of year, to escape incoming war. Some of them did not expect an economic hardship and are forced back to sort out bank problems. More would be coming, just to escape russian emergency laws, conscription, war taxes. But it would a fraction, maybe only some 10%, of what was happening for over 2 months.
  23. wild animals are even a healthier option to organic once. So it's not poverty which makes some people to crave for game. In europe, and elsewhere, hunters make a good living, by selling their pray at prices many times over the price of farmed animals. Even boars with african flu can be eaten. Actually, culling excess of wild animals slowers spread of disease, that including to farmed animals. That, if those people are not vegetarians/vegans and not anti hunting. If those mentioned organisations are serious in their work, they should give an alternative to meat eating - vegetarian diet
  24. just as number of infections is much higher, just not enough testing being done, so is with mortality. Judging from what I have seen at th local hospital, where majority are for covid. Myself I went for mild lung infection (I am post omicron already), but was automatically pushed into covid ward and diagnosed with some random condition.
  25. if porsche was 150m after the motorbike , might mean it was speeding or uncontrollable with incapacitated driver. Driver suppose to start braking before collision to avoid it. On the bridges there are multiple cameras, for controlling traffic as well as many more to protect construction from intruders. Examination of all of them should give idea what happen. Also high class cars do have dash cameras (front and back), and onboard computer should have speed record and even gps positioning. Police should have this info within hours. No need for interviewing drivers (if that poor bike driver survives at all) and have contradictory statements. Damage was done to the right side of car - so car was turning left, towards the exit ramp (where he parked) and bike driving strait. Car suppose to slow down before making turn. Looks, like accident happen very late night, with bridge completely empty (as seen on the picture with motorbike), so there were not other parties involved and place is well lighted, no rain and slippery road. This accident not suppose to happen is good road conditions
