  1. to many countries there was no need for any tests, once you have vax. Everywhere now restrictions are being lifted (bag china, japan, korea)
  2. unfortunately, not. They will be imprisoned until their trial. "The Bangkok South Criminal Court denied bail to activists Parit "Penguin" Chiwarak and Arnon Nampa despite being granted bail by another court yesterday, their attorney says Wednesday. They will remain detained awaiting trial." https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/posts/5257883447563878 "The South Bangkok Criminal Court has denied bail for Parit Chiwarak and Anon Nampa. The Court said that Anon's claim that he has to work and take care of his family is not a reason to change the Appeal Court's previous order to deny him bail. It also said that he committed several offenses and is likely to cause more damage if released. For Parit, the Court requires him to present evidence of his enrollment at Thammasat University, along with a letter from the university, before it consider his bail request. Meanwhile, the Ayutthaya Provincial Court and the Bangkok South Municipal Court granted Parit bail on all charges under its jurisdiction. The Ratchadapisek Criminal Court also granted Parit and Anon bail yesterday. Due to the South Bangkok Criminal Court's order, the two activists will remain in detention. So far, they have been held for over 6 months pending trial on several counts of royal defamation charges. https://www.facebook.com/PrachataiEnglish/posts/5131627693543401 Ajarn Somsak wrote: "This is the disgrace of Thai courts. acting as a slave" (google translation). Yesterday there was not enough money to bail them. Within hours over 10mln baht were raised
  3. you will just got 5-7 days free pcr pink paper at the airport. If they decide to scrap it, the better. I don't see why those applying on 1st March can enter only on 7th March. T&G are now issued very fast, matter of hours. So, in theory, travellers on this new rule can enter 2nd March. Possibly just changing existing flight and hotel booking
  4. this one says "initially" approved, but still 1st March
  5. no, if you payed package for both days, you do have some discount for day 1 and day 2. If you have bought them separately it will cost some 100b more for each. Take easy, you are thai homeowner, millionaire, travelling across country by taxis. It's just not worth heart attack. Why trigger easy, if you have written: "I believe it still has to be in the Royal Gazette". And than attacking hotel for their stance
  6. 1st March confirmed: "Thailand is set to relax rules for international arrivals from March 1st despite the continual surge in COVID-19 infections in the country. The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to change the second COVID-19 RT-PCR test, currently required for overseas arrivals on their fifth day in the country"
  7. atk are free. If you have payed for 1&5 days in one package you got some discount for day 1 (around 100-200b). So you will get 2700-2800b refund.
  8. wherever you get serious covid you can expect around 300k or $10k for sometimes months in ventilator, ICU
  9. yes, news forum. it was a temporary measure. Lasted a month. I expected it to last much longer and prepared for it.
  10. gen prayuth chairs this body: "The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to change the second COVID-19 RT-PCR"
  11. it's going on from the first hack on 28.01. this one is much different. Points to the whole ministry of foreign affairs server in bangkok being compromised " I've only ever submitted documents to a Thai embassy in Canberra for a TR application."
  12. beds, medicine and medical supplies are not a problem, but overworked and sick personel might give up over prolonged time without rest. since pandemic many hospitals are doing up to 24h shifts, that's almost 2 years of an emergency set up. Since songkran the last year it's an intensive time, the third wave underway
  13. he is trying to twist facts again. it was already stated, that only 20% from this tax (so only 60b) will go towards health insurance. The next 20% (as much as for insurance), are operational costs. The remaining 60% are for tourism infrastructure development. Covid health emergency is just a nice backdoor excuse to put another tax, but has little to do with health. Possibly those 20% insurance will go to land crossing ASEAN citizens who are rather not tourists, but illegal workers, traders or shoppers
  14. what is "TR application"? for tourist visa TV? just might mean thai the whole ministry of foreign affairs database is hacked. Correspondence to/from embassies go through mfa.go.th server in bangkok
  15. the majority of entering thailand are thai and not necessarily visitors. they well might be businessmen, traders coming back home. now, forcing them into quarantine would knock them off from work for another 10 days.
  16. there is a one immune system responsible for protecting against bacteria and viruses. If it's temporarily weakened by body reaction to vax, any virus or bacteria have an easier access. I had a strongish reaction to the second pfizer, which lasted 6-7 weeks.
  17. if you download a trojan maleware from a supposed thailand pass, those hackers will have everything, including credit cards, access to email account and size of your wife's nickers
  18. on a side note - how surprised I was a few days ago, when I find out Austria doesn't accept sinovac and sinopharm travellers. The last autumn they were one of the first ones (with switzerland, belgium) in europe to include those vaxes. I would think the majority of jabbed with sinovac in thailand are not happy with their vax, but they had no any choice. For foreigners it well might mean more than one booster for an international travel
  19. lets see how far injustice system in thailand will go in case of crowd control cop: "The cop who sped his Ducati into an eye doctor as she crossed a Bangkok road last month, killing her, was indicted in court this afternoon on nine criminal counts. Public prosecutors agreed to try Lance Cpl. Norawich Buadok, a crowd control police officer, on nine counts including fatal reckless driving, speeding, failing to stop at a crosswalk, driving a vehicle without license plates, and driving without insurance. Norawich is also accused of violating a traffic law stipulating that motorbike riders must keep to the left-most lane of the road – a law all but universally ignored by all." https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/cop-who-killed-doctor-kratai-on-bangkok-road-indicted-on-9-charges/
  20. just a risk of a large expenses, if they decide to take into hospitel. Self-isolate for 10 days. For peace of mind order supermarket food essentials, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables for vitamins. At covid hospital I was given NAC, you can get it on lazada for a fraction of pharmacy price.
  21. morchana. It doesn't work. And nobody cares. Just keep your paper/email record for a month. The most important is vax record
  22. as hospitals don't report test results (even positive) to the health ministry and because morchana is dysfunctional (even often doesn't load scanned QR of thailand pass) and because given to you 2nd test result doesn't have QR code, your health record is sketchy. The only way is hotel reporting, but just talk to them on check out. If there is a way for them to save some money (or make an additional income) they would do it.
  23. well, the genius dr Anutin thought that thailand needs only 2mln vax per month and refused larger offer from the locally made AZ production. Promptly refused joining an international program for vax distribution, offers of help with AZ from an Indian ambassador (shortly after approved overpriced sinovac). They only contracted moderna, pfizer, johnson in June 2021 - after songran scare and in the wake of delta killing spree. That's why those ordered vaxes are only started coming now for boosters, too late too prevent omicron ravaging population
