  1. in yesterday's story they both travelled to bangkok by road and took a taxi to the airport. There was a picture of one of them leaving taxi without any luggage. I would not think that professional assassins wouldn't fly, as their name would be exposed. They had chance to leave Phuket immediately by bridge by any mean of transport, collect their luggage and travel to bangkok by road. In the story above, the body was found in the parking lot, in another story in a swimming pool. Basic facts don't match
  2. I did lend to a friend when she couldnt work during multiple lockdowns. I have payed her bank loan, when she mentioned about it. she was able to pay job agent 40k and got 2 year contract in europe. The next time I am there I will see her, she already saved there many k euros

  4. covid only policies are not worthless from 15.02, but insurance companies started to apply those stringer rules from 10.02. get good health insurance, minimum $50k so some 1.6mln. premier plus from pacific cross 3mln bht for some 40k or with 300k deductible around 20k per year. Covers worldwide and all medical conditions (including accident, which you can cheaply upgrade to 1mln bht). relay on boosters before each wave in hope for a mild infection, for self-quarantine
  5. yet they heavily invest in airports expansion, projecting 120mln for BKK and 40mln incomers. Not forgetting that chitchob from the bhumathai party is a transport minister and that the leader of that same party, dr a nut in, main investment is construction and cement production. The biggest, grandiose and useless the government project is, the biggest chance for backhands. Chitchob hasn't got any transport expertise (same as dr anutin in health), but they got those posts simply for joining military coalition
  6. no any tests on emirates if transiting through. if dubai is departing port you need test - that's the quotation somebody posted above concerns. emirates has the lightest covid restrictions. Other airlines will follow the lead, but takes time, especially as national airlines are dependent of their government regulations
  7. there are still 11 political prisoners related to recent protests. They are in pre-trial detention for some 6 months. That's on top of tens of lese-majeste prisoners sentenced to tens of years each. They are also political prisoners, they were only peacefully expressing their opinions
  8. some 3 paragraphs from this deeper article. But there are more details: "Puangphet Hengkham and Permsap Sae-Ung, he said, are a lesbian couple who have been living together in Mae Hong Song for the past 13 years, but they are denied the rights given to heterosexual couples, such as being able to authorize medical treatment for their partner, or to name their partner as the beneficiary for life insurance, as a marriage certificate is required for them to have these rights. They also cannot own property or take out loans together, and even though legal loopholes exist that would allow them to do so, Tunwavaj said that this is not equality, and that many LGBTQ couples are concerned that, since they cannot register their marriage, their property would go to their closest relative upon their death. He said that many members of the LGBTQ community do not live with their family, who also play no role in what they earn during their lifetimes, so the person who inherits their property should be the person who lives with them. Meanwhile, LGBTQ couples are denied the welfare given to heterosexual couples. Many organizations provide tuition fees and medical fees for their employees, but LGBTQ families are denied these supports, since they are not legally recognized as a family. Tunyawaj gave the example of a transwoman who works as a civil servant and was not compensated for the cost of her partner’s cancer treatment even though civil servants are entitled to such compensation." Title: "Marriage equality bill delayed, forwarded to Cabinet" https://prachatai.com/english/node/9692
  9. no, but there are some 100 hotels offering T&G and at least one doing 2h. I dont remember name or location, as they are irrelevant to me
  10. there are some bangkok hotels offering 2h test results for an additional 2k. If you arrive morning you have a chance for evening flight. Hotel doesn't to be very close to airport. There is not one at airport itself. You can get to airport by taxi within max 1h. Personally I would not book in advance this flight. You have chance being tested positive, up to 5% chance
  11. in the news section some thai doctor claims long term covid should clear by itself within 3 months. Some other articles I read say up to 6 months. Some other claim within a year. But puzzles me is "latent" in the thread title. So symptoms do appear long after complete recovery. That is strange. I don't think condition can go completely undetected for up to a year. I think re-infection should be factored. It's also possible that virus survives for a very long in some tissues, but that would be shown on tests and there would be some malfunction. In one article I read recently that covid inflates testicles and hinder testosteron production. Subsequent hormonal imbalance can lead to low libido and ED. there are very many theories and research around. Sometimes contradicting
  12. so both of them have the elephant ticket and any and all charges will always be dropped against them. Just thai courts have to work harder how to dismiss such case, or how to blame the innocent. It all can be done. Example above. This case took 10 years to come to conclusion. Another 10, if somebody appeals or the karaoke owner returns from his hideout in Laos
  13. I think you would have to enter europe through EU, schengen or ECC country, not by land/sea border from countries outside. I have tried and it worked. But should work from norway, sweeden. I dont know if any sacandinavian country has still requirement for test on crossing land borders, some countries introduced them at the beginning if omicron. By now they should get removed.
  14. try to scan each QR for each vaccine separately. On an updated version of morprom application you can get 2 codes. If your morprom app doesnt update for some reason, do delete and re-install. This app has constantly many glitches
  15. some might require atk (oe even pcr) test within a few days after entry by air, but not by land border. The way round this rule is to enter europe by neighbouring country without any questions and requirements. Even without patient locator forms (as use to be the last year). The system considers you transfer passenger. Within a few hours by fast train you can cross many borders to your destination. Just some additional e50-100 for fare, you have piece of mind
  16. from the other article, which I have quoted, it's less optimistic. This bill was pushed aside by the ruling coalition. They not necessarily support it, rather try to bury it. If the house is dissolved this year, might be long before it comes back on agenda. again: "draft bill on same-sex marriage was dealt a blow today (Wednesday) when the House of Representatives voted to send it for vetting by the cabinet before its first reading in the House."
  17. also if they indeed were hit men they would not likely go together after an unarmed and not protected by security body guards single person. The second hit man can be in as a back up, but he doesn't have to go into action until needed. One professional is well enough to finish job, even using 2 guns shot at the same time. Or a larger gun, to pierce bulletproof vest. So possibly they were not hired gunman but just his friends, associates. It would make easier to track them. Still, finding them might be problematic, if stolen passports, face biometrics and fingertips were changed. It's not cheap, but can be done
  18. so police knows names, but don't know where to they got their flights? or how they have travelled from phuket to bangkok? was it by bus, private transport? where is luggage of this international traveller? surely highly suspicious if he doesn't have any luggage and travels to some winter country, like canada now, in shorts, short sleeve shirt and sandals. as they are hired gunmen they would rather not travel together at all. I wait for police statement to be changed in matter if hours.
  19. it's about human rights, not about how much commerce can be done on tourists and locals. Surely foreign-thai couples are disadvantaged as come to immigration law. Makes difficult for a foreign partner to stay in thailand. A very large foreigners in thailand are on marriage visas, because it's easier and cheaper in comparison to the other visa options. So even if mixed gay couple is legally married elsewhere in the world, they are not recognised in thailand. Can't legalise their marriage or partnership. That's a legal problem for tens, possible hundreds of thousands mixed couples. There are also millions of thai couples which are also treated unequal. Without legal marriage they can't adopt kids. It also complicates family matters if there are already kids from earlier relationships. In thailand kids from single parents are not entitled to free state education. In the world married get tax brakes, including for rising children. Also inheritance law can't be be used.
  20. not so rosy. Actually, the title is misleading, wrong. Same as the content of this article. This vote delayed further reading of this bill for 3-4 months, which was send to the cabinet for consideration. The cabinet has the right to stall this bill. "Thai opposition Move Forward party’s draft bill on same-sex marriage was dealt a blow today (Wednesday) when the House of Representatives voted to send it for vetting by the cabinet before its first reading in the House. The move to delay the bill by the cabinet prompted a protest from Julapun Amornvivat, a Pheu Thai MP representing Chiang Mai, claiming that the cabinet’s vetting process will cause the first reading of the bill to be delayed by 3-4 months."
  21. some 3 months after infection you can get a vax. That counts as fully vaxed for international travel purpose by thailand. The problem is that your hospital might not upload your recovery certificate to morprom and won't give you test result with QR code to upload. So you end up nowhere. For international travel you don't know what would be requirements by airline, transit airport and your destination in many months time, up to a year. after 2 shots you can get thai certificate, valid for around a year from the last shot (probably for longer, as booster is still not required). After 3 months you can get a booster, if required by your destination country. if mild covid better not a risk of being forced into quarantine, wjich might cost from 30k at hospitel to around 150k at hospital. Insurance might not cover you, even if you have a good one.
  22. yes. works also with national health system applications - data from morprom is automatically added. So in december I had in europe a full shot of moderna and was showing me a booster in some 4 weeks. In january data about 2 pfizer from Thailand was uploaded and now I can't get more boosters in europe.
  23. this integration was going on since end of october. Already several weeks was possible to upload thai QR vax into european health applications (green pass). Sadly, not possible to upload european vax into morprom. with all boosters coming in, thai ministry won't be able to keep up with who got what and when
  24. many of turncoats, cobras, had criminal charges back to red protests in pattaya siege, bangkok ratchaprasong. In exchange for dropping charges they were forced to join junta. His "904" haircut says all about him. It's obligatory for police and military. He is not more than payed stooge. His political carrier has finished. I don't know if and how he was elected the last time. But his electorate will shrink. Doesn't look like this new party has time for coming election. Prayuth might even not to qualify for the pm post. But certainly would further split PPP and divide it's electorate, which is good enough. Interesting, if they would form any coalition during and after election
  25. So what are figures for 2021? They were never published. So maybe they were only in thousands, insignificant, not worth to mention. what are predictions for 2022? Ok, bumrungtad might be well booked with arabs, as they alway were. But there are hundreds hospitals in bangkok, specialised ones, small, below 100 beds, which also need some traffic. also provincial hospitals getting traffic from neighbouring countries. With land borders shut closed nobody can come yet for many months. at the moment total monthly traffic is 100k. But only less than 10% can be for medical. A few thousands per month. that wont increase dramatically in 2022, because of the numerous restrictions (mainly within asia itself). Even, if 2023 will be 10x higher, its still only 100k patients per year. they did not explain in this article, how figures for 2023 will be higher than in 2019. Medical conditions have to be treated promptly, can be postponed for years. So patients are constantly treated at their home countries. They cant wait unspecified time for thailand opening
