  1. not exactly studies, as they claim. Just an observation. Just 5 minutes glans on yesterday's mortality and gun-shot conclusion based on 26 cases: "“Out of the 26 Covid fatalities today, 53 per cent, or 14 people, were unvaccinated,” said Dr Apisamai Srirangsan, a spokeswoman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA)." certainly that is not a study. "studies" would involve setting a plan for study, conducting it over a long time (weeks/months), results peer revue and publication in a scientific medical journal.
  2. 30 raids, 3 arrests, 1 questioned. not any drugs found in those 30 raids. That 10% rate of finding dealers and 0% of finding their stock is a very poor outcome
  3. a third booster? I had only one, so far. It happen to be full vial of moderna. So the next coming in a minimum 6 months (unless some out brake). The 3rd one unplanned, yet, but probably the next year. with 70% unvvaxed in thailand there is a long way for the 3rd booster
  4. I think only pacific cross, cover 3mln, premium below 100k but some 300k deductible. check comparison on misterprakan
  5. there are still covid policies for 750b and 1.5k, but pay only 5 i 10k on hospitalisation. Get the proper health insurance, even the cheap one, for some 300-400k cover will be good for ICU at the government hospital. Premium is 15-20k and covers all medical conditions, including worldwide. If you would need for international travel you can cancel that basic one and upgrade to minimum $50k, but that is in the region 30-40k bht
  6. no, you dont need any tests to leave thailand nor qatar need any
  7. from my experience it's the opposite. Check in personel are very careful in "ticking" all required documents on the computer. Many travellers are refused check in, almost happen to me once and had to argue, just because I got one document on my smartphone, not printed (delayed test result came during my journey to the airport). Same with transit airport. Passengers refused entry, luggage offloaded, delayed departure - as explained by the captain on one of flights. In thailand it's just a glance. My Thailand Pass was with a wrong date (I had one for a month ahead). It was immidiately spotted at check in and transit, but not in thailand. QR code was valid on scanning, so they did not bother with a different month (january, instead of december). I don't think anybody would be refused entry to thailand, unless forgery.
  8. legally he is thai (mother living in bangkok), travelled on thai passport. certainly it was not thai immigration, who stopped his entry, but airport health officer. Checking up all paperwork is done before immigration. If stopped by immigration it's airport detention centre, not a former smoking room. Not only royal thai police immigration department is corrupted, but also health authorities. I would suspect collusion between them and some hotel owner. personally I would not put too much attention to a poster who just happen to register to post his terrible story
  9. to add: cepacol "original" for some 26b has antibacterial and antiviral properties (cetylpiridinium chloride works on covid-19). There are many other cepacol's with different vitamins, they are more expensive than original and don't contain cetylpiridinium. So probably not worth. But might talk to a competent pharmacist.
  10. on the level of conspiracy theorists fuelled by Russian "diplomacy", regurgitated by blood thirsty ultra-royalists https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2020/11/04/conspiracy-blogger-tony-cartalucci-reveals-his-identity/
  11. not sure, why you are asking about cancellation of 5th day test, if you have already bought hotel including one and why you asking about songkran cancellation. It was enough to buy your hotel in the beginning of April, to enter anytime before songkran. It would be much clear, and probably cheaper, than what is now
  12. your papers suppose to be checked in washington and at transit in abu dabi (those in transit might be less stringent, because they don't use computer system, just glance on documents). you could write again to laboratory for yet another confirmation. Possibly with QR code, so can be uploaded to covid application. quarantine for 7 days is from about 12k bht. You, as thai citizen, have free medical care, including medical in private hospital (that privilege is only until 1.03). I am not sure why you have opted for phuket sandbox, if you could get Test&Go in Bangkok (which is operational again from 01.02 and takes max 7 days to be processed). Possibly in BKK they are more welcoming than in phuket mafia ridden environment. In BKK they had in November special emergency teams which were helping travellers to sort out any formal problems (booking new, proper sha+ hotels, outdated CoE, thailand passes etc). Possibly those teams are still operating
  13. no any test was ever required to enter BKK airport or fly from here. Just watch for singapore airport, if transiting through there.
  14. he had some issues to become candidate for the next PM. i think something to do with being in power continuously since 2014 military coup. if he is "elected" this or the next year, his rule will end up to 2027. For the ruling class he is a symbol of hard hand and for religiously following their lead. So he still has a chance, despite legal obstacles. The last time he would lose to princess ubolrattana, nominated by one of the taksin party. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2019/02/08/princess-nominated-to-lead-thailand-in-election-shocker/ And later on he would lose to thanathorn, if was not banned from politics for 10 years, after dissolution of future forward https://time.com/5788470/thailand-future-forward-party-disbanded/ those 2 election manipulations caused street protests and further charges against future forward https://thediplomat.com/2020/10/dissolved-thai-party-leaders-warn-against-possible-legal-charges/ would the new generation of voters tolerate more of dinosaurs?
  15. try cepacol, strepsil (there are several different ones, with different active substances) lozenges. also Kamillosan spray. Now they have large 20ml bottles, just from 145b
  16. go to bang sue, wherever it starts running. I don't follow topic, but the ministry changes their brains at anytime
  17. positive thai citizens have free medical care and if asymptomatic field hospital. They can upgrade to hospitel, AQ for some 30k for 10 days. Rather small chance for self-isolation at home for those entering country
  18. these protests are going after murder of thai political dissident in cambodia by thai security services (death squat flu 2 days before murder from paris on TG flight). What suppose to be intimidation against opposition, turned as an ignition point for a student and young generation movement. Hiring lobbyists in the usa is not new and special - that's how "democracy" works in this part of the world (and pretty much everywhere). Meeting an ambassador by some teenage is not a proof of CIA manipulation, funding. They are charged under multiple articles but not for funding by spy agency. But indeed, international diplomatic community voices support for pro-democracy movement and protests against different forms of oppression by thai forces. Same goes for human rights organisations, NGO's, academics and independent international organisations. This young generation is as much thai as dinosaurs, they are their grandchildren. Just they read more, think independently, use social media for international and uncensored info. And they are not nationalistic, quite opposite. Most of young generation find thailand impossible to live in, they want to emigrate and find better prospects elsewhere
  19. pasting full article, without discussing it by the OP, is just spamming this discussion forum. Not the first time from this member
  20. "Police have identified the identities of the two suspected assailants in the killing of Canadian passport holder Singh “Jimi” Mandeep in Phuket on Feb 4 and they are Canadians. Phuket police have requested arrest warrants for Gene Karl Lahrkamp, 36, and Matthew Leandre Ovide Dupre, also 36, for premeditated murder. The two entered Thailand on Dec 18 last year before committing the crime, shooting the victim at close range over ten times, said police. They then flew from Phuket to Bangkok and left Suvarnabhumi Airport on Feb 6, with Dupre flying to Amsterdam and the other to Frankfurt. ... Kissana Pattanacharoen, Police deputy spokesman, said the two suspect killers are Canadian nationals and they were identified through confessions of some gang members who were arrested earlier, forensic evidence from the two 9mm guns recovered as well as forensic evidence and GPS trace from the rented Toyota vehicle used by the two." https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/posts/5225272790824944
  21. all those medicines are from pharmacy, including ivermectin (that one is the most expensive, so shopping around has sense). Always talk to a doctor, pharmacist, read all leaflets and literature. Same as with taking any other medicine. Those medicines are safe for prophylaxis every few months. Just 1 pill of each is good enough. Food hygiene in thailand is poor, tropical countries have far greater risk of infection than in cold countries. Many expats and tourists don't realise the difference. Living in a countryside environment, along with domestic and wild animals, close to nature, eating row, uncooked fish, meat are risk factors. But how many % of public toilets in the cities have soap? How many % of city houses and estates treat their sewage properly before dumping them into open waters? some hygiene improved during covid, but not in toilets and general sanitation. In comparison in dubay airport many toilet cubicles have alcohol gel dispensers
  22. by May there probably won't be the 5th day test/hotel, which is a temporary measure against omicron. On return you risk positive and some 30k for hospital or being put in ASQ for a little less. Hospitalisation might also mean to pay for hospital bed (not for the treatment and medicines) and it's around 10k per day. However, chances of testing positive are now around 1% on each test. Might be falling further to pre-omicron times of 0.1%. There is a risk, but no drama. While in the UK get a booster (or even 2 doses, if they allow you to), minimum 2 weeks before travel, to lessen chance of infection. By putting your return in that light you risk braking your marriage
  23. not much to do with the government, but with the hospital you payed to. they said it would be coming end of year/first quater. If they don't give you one before end of march, you can demand refund. I have payed at the end of august, the second generation suppose to be coming in the first half of year. I am happy to wait as long as it needs, I got already booster. But really would prefer refund and free vax from the government
  24. I have hoped for an additional system to help failing Thailand Pass to get strait, becoming fully functional. Non of glitches reported from november were fixed, as was promissed in december, when they shut T&G. Instead, at the end of january, just before re-launching Test&Go, a massive hack of their database, with spoof emails coming with trojan malware. So problem with hotmail and the other emails, only certain kind of files to be send (no pdf - the most common one), no confirmation emails. No any back up to enquiries - emergency email never replying, same with chat on facebook. Telephone lines not working or waiting for over an hour for answer. Waiting time not fixed to max 7 days, so travellers missing their flights. So now another system, which will also be a failure. Hindering only travellers movement and positive experience through the whole 5 days ordeal
